Dr. Praful Chandra Mehta

I had avascular necrosis and fractures of the talus. After several months of not finding a diagnosis of my pain, I found a new doctor who immediately correctly diagnosed my problem. After 12 years, partially due to prolonged misdiagnosis, I still have pain and swelling. Also, did not find my diabetes, which compounded my problems. I really liked and respected him up until that point. I am an RN and with hindsight, would find a different doctor after a couple of weeks!

Dr Baalmann is good, however the billing department and office manager is a joke!! You cannot get through to anyone as far as billing and insurance goes! I was billed for an office visit and lab costs. They told me that the insurance didn’t pay the lab costs and that I was responsible for them. Actually the insurance did pay the lab costs to Lab Corp as NWFP isn’t a laboratory. So they can’t charge for laboratory costs. But tried anyway. Do Not Go Here!!

I *absolutely love* Dr Mehta and his medical staff. They are fantastic!!! However because of his office manager and her iron-fisted practices, I cannot give but one star to the staff. It is also because of her, that after 20 years, I my family will be changing doctors. And I will miss Dr Mehta and his medical staff immensely!
