Dr. Phyllis Jean Heffner

Dr Heffner, a true functional doctor, takes anincredible amount of interest in workingdiligently to find solutions to complex cases. I saw wonderful reviews about her care/treatment and most importantly how she works through various testing options to find the root of the problem, before starting treatment, even if very complex. She is constantly continuing her education, especially about complex health concerns that cause of a variety of confusing symptoms which many other practitioners have often missed. She is super at reminding us that the source of illness is not always easy to determine, and the number of geneticvariants, environmental contributors/exposures and metabolic abnormalities can make the diagnosis more difficult. She does not give up on working with the parents to help the child improve as much as possible. and works very hard to customize treatment for the patient based on their unique biochemical presentation. Dr Heffner helped us save our daughter's life.

Dr. Heffner is consistent, thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I was so Blessed to have been referred to her care back in 2017.

Dr. Heffner cares more about money than helping the patient. She is supposed to be a child psychiatrist but is not at all good with children. Doesn't have any skills in speaking or relating to them. She also tends to recommend/prescribe medications and treatments about which she recently learned about at the latest conference and dismisses viable alternatives. She recommends expensive diagnostic tests that she later admits don't prove anything. Meanwhile, we've already invested in the equally expensive and questionable treatments that she later admits may or may not work. The feeling is that she is sort of feeling her way through her protocol and doesn't have much confidence in same. And she does NOT like questions intended to clarify. Her responses can be quite defensive and hostile.

Dr. Heffner has shown me what it truly means to be articulate. She is able to peer into an issue and work out a solution with precision. One of the best, certainly the best I have ever worked with, of the many. A powerful mind and nothing but a kind heart. If you find yourself in need of assistance, she is the one.

A consummate professional. She has an excellent bedside manner, and knows what she's talking about. I learned things about my body and myself that I've never heard from any other therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist/doctor before. She is the real deal!! - Luke
