I have been to see Dr. Pearson of the MSU Health Center several times for different illnesses and he is super professional and nice. He always had time for me and my questions. I had a traumatic incident of someone getting shot outside of my window when in was in school at Mississippi State University. Running off of no food and sleep because of it, I was not feeling like myself and ended up in the Student Health Care facility and was unfortunately treated by Dr. Pearson. Instead of listening to why I felt or how I was feeling and how I had no previous episodes of feeling like this, they determined they couldn't help me. Threw me into a police car and took me to the mental health clinic in Columbus where they misdiagnosed me with with mental health issues when I needed help coping with trauma. Like psych ward where they take your shoe strings which was traumatic in itself. Once at the facility in Columbus, it took 5 days of trying and my parents driving 5 hours for them to release me because they would not let me go. It was almost like because my family could pay they didn't want me to leave. I was pretty much thrown in jail which caused more trauma when all I needed was someone to talk to about trauma. In the end, Dr. Pearson made my situation drastically worse than it would have been if they would have listened to what I was saying, and treated me for trauma. It worries me about other students that have experienced this sort of gross incompetence.
