Never followsup. Refuses to consult with my other doc's. Forgets to order labs. Never answers email. Doesn't monitor patient progress.

I would not recommend Dr. Brachman. I will try to be as thorough as I can be in my reasoning. Dr. Brachman is an older provider. Unfortunately, I feel he still operates as if it were the 80s. While being under his care, or lack thereof, I have not felt heard. He has his idea of what your care should be, and cares less what your input is on the matter. Meaning, if the regimen he prescribes you does not work for you; Good luck switching over to what you prefer. If your lab work shows no resistances, you should be able to do so. Not take a 4 pill regimen that you have explained does not work for your lifestyle. Dr. Brachman creates barriers where there should not be.He creates and endless string of appointments to get the care that you need. There should not be 10 apts had in order to be prescribed or switched medicines after labs have been drawn. This is hard to do when you have normal tasks like a job or a family. Who has the time to pay a specialty copay and visit him just to be told what you could be told via the kaiser application ? He is not knowledgeable of the resources available to assist with your care. He also does not care to be informed. His job, per his admission, is to prescribe and to let the pharmacy figure out the affordability. I challenged him on this. I do not feel this is right. You should be aware of your resources before handing out medicine prescriptions. I tried explaining that I had recieved assistance from kaiser that allowed all of my medications to be free to him, he didn't hear it. He kept explaining that I needed to come back in and speak to someone about affordability of medicines before he could release a new prescription. Which meant more money spent on a co pay and more time away from work. If he had listened or even known his resources, he would know I could now afford any of the medicines. He also had no knowledge of how co pay assistance cards actually work. Which is why he assumed I was discussing a co pay card when I said i could afford any medicine. Which is also why, months ago when I asked to be switched to a different regimen, that did not happen. He didn't understand that I could afford to, after my initial co pay issue prior to receiving the assistance through kaiser. Dr. Brachmans care was very impersonable. I felt like I was at the health department. Not a doctor that I pay an insurance premium for monthly. This doctor needs to go ahead and retire. I would hate to see how he treats individuals who have less knowledge about the proper care they should be receiving. I have filed a formal complaint and will make sure my voice is heard. If you are looking for a " Warm and fuzzy " you wil not get it from Dr. Bachman .I am not even sure if he enjoys being a physician.

Dr. Brachman does not take the time to listen to your concerns or input on your own health care. In fact, you don't have to be present. He has his own ancient ideas on what you're regimen should be. He is rigid on what this regimen is, even when you state that it is currently not working for you. He has incorrect knowledge of kaiser (where he works) patient assistance programs to assist in the affordability in the expensive medicines he hands out. He does not feel it is his job to know this.
