Mr. Peter R Paul

Peter Paul repeatedly refused to send a family member to a specialist for an injury when it wasn't getting better (over a matter of months) using the treatments he suggested. We couldn't figure it out -- we assumed it was because he was in the role of being an HMO gatekeeper -- but never knew for sure exactly why a referral was such a problem for him for a patient who wasn't getting better. When we called about this, he wouldn't speak to us directly, but had us talk to the nurse who explained that a specialist might be inclined to prescribe strong meds (this seemed a stretch of an excuse and no meds have ever been prescribed by a specialist). We left his practice, and the new physician we found immediately recommended a specialist would did the necessary scans and gave us, at long last, the diagnosis needed to determine an appropriate treatment plan.

I have been a patient of Dr. Paul's for 10 years. He is considerate and thorough. He always reviews my history and compares with present status. I am comfortable in discussing any medical issues with him and will continue keeping him as my primary care physician.

Dr was so focused on telling me that I was phycodic that he wouldn't do test to see why I was having chest pain. Instead he made me an appointment to see a TBI specialist and kept saying it's all in my head. I went to the hospital a couple of months later because I knew it was not in my head. I was told that I was having a heart attack and if I didn't get quadruple bypass surgery withen in 3 days that I would be dead. All four major arteries were blocked. Could have died waiting for my TBI appt

I have been a patient of Dr. Paul's for approx 20 yrs. Until the last 5 yrs, I was very pleased with his services & even had my parents change their PCP to him. It is almost impossible to get a same day appt w/him if you are sick, it's usually 2-3 days. (His Nurse, Steve, is extremely rude on the phone also & once gave me someone else's test results) During normal routine appts, he's usually running at least 30 minutes late. When he does finally arrive, he is rushed & out the door in 15 mins.
