Dr. Peter Byung-Hoon Kang

Dr. Kang worked tirelessly to find our daughter's diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder. He is patient and kind, always taking time to answer our questions and make sure we are comfortable with the plan of action. I've appreciated Dr. Kang's willingness to listen to our ideas. We've never felt rushed or brushed over during our time in his office. He is a wonderful doctor who is extremely knowledgable and thorough. This doctor needs not to be working with children. My daughter was COMPLETELY healed from infection induced autoimmune encephalitis by another doctor after we saw this doctor at Shands. Dr. Kang screamed at her, hurt her during the exam and later called me at home to tell me never to come back to him or anyone else in his practice! She was SO SICK and couldn’t walk or even think! We had to travel clear across the country with a REALLY SICK KID to get help instead of being able to rely on our local children’s hospital! We finally found local help A YEAR LATER at a different hospital. If he had just been nice to her this review would not have been written because we understand that not everyone understands how to treat encephalitis. Thanks for causing irreparable damage to my daughter’s faith in the medical society.

After our daughter was diagnosed with juvenile Myasthenia Gravis, we searched for a pediatric neurologist that was knowledgeable about the disorder. Initially we made the visit to see Dr. Kang from over 600 miles away and immediately knew we found the perfect fit! He is calm, kind, and respectful to both our child and us as her parents. He speaks to and asks our daughter all the right questions and provides insight and realistic expectations for her future. Because of this, we continued for several years making the 600 mile trip to see him because he was worth every effort. All along he kept our local neurologist informed of his findings and offered suggestions for her care locally. We now live locally and couldn't be happier he's our neurologist we see regularly now! We couldn't more highly recommend Dr. Kang and the practice at UF Shands. Touched my kid weird

Not patient friendly. Not willing to help a child because the child is no longer his patient. We live 2 hours from his practice and decided to find care closer to home. New neurologist reached out to Dr Kang and Dr kang told him that he was no longer his patient so he was not willing to help. What happen to in the best interest of the child. My child is 11 years old with Myastenia Gravis. Not patient friendly. Not willing to help a child because the child is no longer his patient.
