Dr. Peter H. Hertz

Extremely rude office staff. Very impatient, demanding. Not the best impression if you are considering oral surgery. We have medical and dental to cover but needed a few minutes to gather the dental number. Had the medical card ready but needed to locate the dental. Give us a minute to find the card or make repeated threats for out of pocket payment if no dental insurance. They chose to make threats of out of pocket payment for consultation. Never seen anything like this. They appear to be finances first, patient care and satisfaction second. Upside down healthcare organization sustainability plan. There are plenty of people who do not have insurance and need services, I would not want to guess how those individuals are treated by this organization. We have insurance and were made to feel like we were distrusted. Unbelievable. We don't support healthcare disparity. We will choose someone else. Seems like we have a lot of options, thankfully.

Our appt was for 12:15. My boyfriend wasnt seen til 2! At 1pm I asked the receptionist if she knew how much longer we’d have to wait she said she has “no clue”. Not even an apology. After being the waiting room the surgeon finally comes out to “apologize” then proceeded to ask if we wanted to cancel.. (we were already waiting for 2 hours why on earth would we cancel?!) After they took him in, i went back to my house to eat, came back at 3:30, called the place (3xs) to let me enter the waiting room but no one answered, went to the answering machine and it said they were closed! I was a little confused. I had to Knock on the doors 5-7 times for them to finally unlock the door. Once again no apology. I heard my boyfriend screaming in the back (of course Im concerned) so Im looking at the receptionist for any type of word of comfort instead she proceeded to gossip with her other coworker on how i was “staring at her”. Receptionists also argued amongst themselves which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I couldnt wait to leave and never come back. PS: on your sign the word “members” is spelled incorrect.

This was my first surgical procedure with Dr. Hertz and I was extremely impressed with his manner and attention to detail. He immediately put me at ease before sedation and welcomed any questions I had. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone needing oral surgery. He is a blessing to our community!

Should have been concerned when I entered, what I thought was a very small office and staff not organized. Asked to verify My insurance FIRST. But as the Dr. was looking at my teeth staff came in and said THEY did not cover my insurance. I was in the CHAIR for 5 minutes and said NO and left. No X-ray, just a "look-see. Very rude to my granddaughter, no bed side manner what's so ever for a nervous patient concerned about pain, dental work is scary enough the last thing a patient needs is a professional not understanding that and being rude and inconsiderate

Save your time, effort and emotions. I would give 0 stars if I could. My girlfriend just came back SOBBING from her wisdom tooth consultation. Staff is rude and miserable. UNSAFE oral surgeon (talking about procedure unprofessionally), who should lose license. No manners, asking extremely personal questions and ARGUING with her about her own personal medical history that has nothing to do with the surgery. Don’t do it !!! It was a complete nightmare !!!My daughter went for a consultation and she was ridiculed for 1 not having a drive’s license (she just has a state ID) and 2 for wanting to be put asleep when getting the operation. Who stays awake while getting 4 wisdom teeth out ???? She was also asked very personal questions about a previous operation she had which made her feel extremely uncomfortable. They also have NO respect or compassion for people with high anxiety. She was very nervous, as most people are when seeing a dentist and Peter made it 100 times worse. I was so scared to have my teeth removed, I had read mixed reviews on Hertz, but I had a great experience, he listened to everything I had to say before the procedure, even put the IV in the vein I chose, the procedure went fine, was pretty quick, he made sure to give me pain meds so I am comfortable at home, the assistants were all very nice as well, over all I would definitely recommend him for anyone who needs to be put under for a dental surgery. Avoid at all costs. Office staff is extremely rude and condescending. I never got to see the Dr because I left after they refused to do the consultation without taking new X-rays that had only been taken one month ago. Later lied to my dentist saying they only wanted to do a Pano which was never mentioned to me. Total attempt to make money on something they knew my insurance would not pay for again. Had they mentioned a Pano was needed I would have agreed to that but not all new xrays. Staff needs lessons in customer service and politeness. Avoid at all costs. Would highly NOT recommend Dr. hertz. I was supposed to have all four wisdom teeth removed under anesthesia, being put to sleep. He would not do the procedure and said I would have to reschedule due to me admitting I smoked marijuana 24 hrs before. He was not concerned of pregnancy or did not ask any questions which are usually asked before procedures as such when being being put under anesthesia but marijuana was a big concern for him. Absolutely horrible experience. Avoid this place..

I had dry sockets and the best treatment for that is in office where the doctor would pack a gauze with a numbing paste into the socket to alleviate the pain of exposed bone. It can be considered priority and after speaking with a DDS that I know personally he was shocked to hear that Dr. hertz refused to see me and treat me for that. I called Dr. Hertz as soon as his office opened and he called me back on video chat saying he doesn’t have ANY availability that day! (Mind you I can’t eat or sleep due to this pain hence why dry sockets are priority) I think this excuse was primarily due to the fact that I had covid but was no longer quarantined when I called. I don’t believe he believed that I was no longer in quarantine however even when I had covid other doctors were willing to treat me under safe preventive measures. (As doctors should) One thing Dr. Hertz did offer me after video chatting me for the amount of time it would’ve taken him to insert gauze into my sockets was oxycodone! So, if you are a fan of that perhaps he’s the guy you want to see! I refused and called other places who told me to call him back and demand to be seen (because those places didn’t accept my insurance.) No thanks! He doesn’t care for patients in my opinion. The DDS I know said he doesn’t even like to prescribe hydrocodone nvm oxycodone. If you’re in that much pain don’t just keep using pain relievers to minimally relieve the pain! Get help from a caring provider. That’s how people out here are getting addicted! & before y’all respond to this with some snarky, defensive remarks perhaps you should consider how others have stated how rude you guys are and maybe you shouldn’t provide further evidence to our claims when you respond to this. Been canceled on 3 times for a wisdom teeth removal procedure. The last time, they canceled the day before procedure after I had all arrangements for a ride and took time off work. Been waiting 4 months for it. Even called week before to ensure still on since I had to request the time off work and theyve canceled twice already. Theyre not apologetic. I work for a Dr office that do procedures, so i get stuff happens. But canceled on 3 weeks in a row and they did not try to make it right, the receptionist could care less. The best dentist I have ever been to. He takes the time to listen to any concerns, answer questions, and treats everyone with dignity and respect.

I visited Dr. Hertz to have all 4 widsom teeth pulled. Going in for the procedure my anxiety was through the roof and I was extremely nervous. The staff was extremely patient with me and very kind. I was giving anesthesia for this surgery, and they had me in and out within an hour. The set up process was quick and painless and even the aftermath was painless. They also called to check in on me that afternoon after the procedure to see how I was doing. I have never felt more comfortable at a dentist's office as I have here. Thank you so much! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hertz! I went there for my wisdom teeth removal, and they were incredibly kind. They talked me through the process and explained everything that would be happening. They even opened up on a Sunday to squeeze me and a few other patients in. When the day came, he explained that one of their staff had an emergency and they couldn't safely put me under anesthesia, so he could either do local anesthesia for me that day, or I could come back another day so that I could be asleep. I decided to come back another day and the staff was SO kind and apologetic (it happens! Totally not their fault!) and even gave me a gift card for the inconvenience. I'm not sure why others had issues with the front desk girls, because everyone there could not have been nicer. This guy gave me local anesthetic when I very loudly and specifically told him not to. I went to him because he was supposed to put me to sleep for the procedure. Because of my anxiety it's impossible for me to comfortably do it awake. Yes, I've done it that's why I was so adamant about not doing it this time. But my veins are difficult, so he asked me if I would be willing to do local if this failed. I said NO I would rather go home in pain than go through that again. He finds a tiny vein. I'm silently crying and having panic attacks, all the while no one bats an eye or offers a word of support or pat on the head. The medicine is taking SO long to work, but I eventually calm down after he adds more MGS multiple times. But I'm still awake, lucid, and grasping the piece of gauze between my fingers to indicate such. I see him stick an instrument in my mouth, then feel him numbing me up. I pulled the wedge out of my mouth and said 'what the hell?!' He says he's numbing me up just in case the medicine didn't keep me asleep, to which I say I wasn't even asleep in the first place. Dr hertz was wonderful and performed my procedure and gave me great care instructions. The anesthesiologist and the assistant were also wonderful. This doctor is amazing. You don’t find many doctors like him. He was awesome during the surgery, but afterwards blew me away. I had pain, and I called the on call. I was concerned about infection, I was currently was on chemotherapy. He called back and took the time to have me down load an app to text back and forth with and had me take a photo of the tooth and upload it to him. I have never met a doctor like him. This place is terrible. The Dr and assistant were super sweet but the front end workers were so mean. They give you attitude and refuse to listen. The doctor unfortunately backs them up and won't speak over the phone. It's so disappointing because I was referred here but I am finding out from others they have a record of being this way. It really bothers me when someone has a bad expirience with a secretary and advises patients to stay away because of this. This man has changed my life. I have a lifelong problem with dentists. Havent been in years. The day came when I had no choice the pain was overwhelming. I started calling around and my 7th try was them. They agreed to see me and I was off and running. Dr. Hertz and his staff made me feel at ease about being there. They put up with my anxiety and took care of me like no one ever has. I will forever be grateful to him and everyone else there. Its been over a year now and I still trust him 100%. If you have trouble holding it together like I do give him a try. Thank you so much Dr. Your one in a million!
