this derm office will over charge you for products. Service is good, good doctor too but he charged me $200 more for obagi nu derm system. It normally costs $300 on line and he charged me $499 -500 dollars for it. Also the VI PEELS they administer at their office on the westside on thursdays is awfully expensive. That specific peel online is $189, they charged me 400 dollars, be careful not to purchase product from this derm office

Good quality of care, but wasn’t seen until more than 90 minutes after my appointment time here, either visit. Don’t schedule here if you have any other commitments that day.

Have been treated for Diabetic HS Hidradenitis suppurativa treatment with amazing results

I called several times to check on my referral, with no response. Finally got through after 3 days of trying, was told that there was only one person working and that I would have to call back the next day to see if they could help me, but it would likely be a long wait. Not a good start. Decided to get a new referral and go elsewhere after reading some of the other reviews regarding poor service.

If your insurance will allow you to see a different doctor you should. The wait times are ridiculous. My first appointment I waited for 1hr and 15min. I told the doctor I have celiac disease and had an endoscopy to prove it. He then had me blood tested for the very thing i just confirmed i had. My next vist I took my wife with me. My appointment was at 1145 we didn't get to leave till 3pm. My last visit I didn't even see the doctor I waited 1hr and 30min and decided to leave. I asked for my chart so my next dermatologist won't have to repeat any test but the rude older lady with glasses refused to give me my chart. I think this office is overbooked for insurance exploiting reasons.

Dr. Peter Herman is an excellent dermatologist who provides quality patient care. His work speaks for himself, he has helped me control my eczema flare ups for years. When I moved to Dallas I thought I would find another dermatologist like him and I haven't. I recently came back to see him because I couldn't receive the thorough care he is known for. His office staff made sure I was seen during my stay in El Paso. Dr. Herman's assistant, Christian puts patients at ease with his knowledge base and compassion. I have not met another physician who assesses his patients like Dr. Herman. He is the utmost professional, taking into account the patient’s history, setting a plan of care and making sure all patient questions are answered. He provides detailed patient instructions, education and make accessible the necessary tools that set up patients for success and healing.

Very Friendly, Dr was amazing, and professional. He knew exactly how to help me with my allergic reactions going on with my skin. Thank you finally had some relief!!!

I had an appointment at 12:45 and had to wait more than 2h to be seen. They don't care about your time, and the only option the receptionist can give you is to reschedule your appointment if you can't wait any longer. So, be ready to cancel all your plans for the day if you have an appointment with Dr. Herman. Also, he charged me $53 for a pack of Vitamins A, C & Zinc and another $53 for a facial sunscreen. I bought them as I thought they were mandatory; however, when I came back home and checked the prices online: $36 for Vitamins and $36,50 for the facial sunscreen. In conclusion, if you appreciate your time and don't want to be extra charged $100 each time you have an appointment for creams and vitamins that you can order online much cheaper, schedule your appointment somewhere else. Have been waiting in a room for over an hour now

My daughter had an appointment at 2 pm. We arrived 10 mins prior to fill out paperwork. At 2:45 I went up front to ask when we would be seen since our appointment was at 2pm I was told it would be an hour before we would get to a room. I'm not sure why Google doesn’t allow me to give this office a zero-star rating. I had an appointment for a shot a week ago before moving from El Paso to California, and the doctor told me that if I passed the eye test a week later, I could have a second dose. Then I took the eye exam and passed it; however, when I went for the second shot after passing the eye test, the doctor told me that he couldn't give me a second shot. They just messed my treatment and wasted my money. The credentials of the doctors here make me quite skeptical. They only have a rudimentary understanding of what they do. There was no respect for professionalism. This is a location to avoid if you want to receive proper treatment. Regarding your response: Before you say a patient is incorrect, you should keep formal note regarding what you say to patients. I clearly mentioned him that I will be moving to California. 0 stars. Terrible experience and now they’re trying to charge me for a follow-up appointment that I never made. The receptionists are not polite and I had concerns about some of the paperwork and information they ask for. I waited an hour & a half past my appointment time, without an apology or explanation, and was just told to wait my turn. I then spent less then 10 minutes with Dr. Karen where she barely looked at me, said my issues were due to an illness which I don’t have, and prescribed multiple medications that would have side effects. I’m not exaggerating when I say that this took less then 10 minutes. At check out I was pressured to buy $100 in their products and to make a follow-up appointment - to which I said NO. I was not comfortable with this office and had ZERO intentions of returning. Now I’ve received a bill in the mail for a follow-up appointment I never made and was never informed of. Dr. Herman and the Staff are very professionals and also friendly. Dr Herman took the time (at least 40 minutes) to explain me in detail the treatment that I have to undergo. I have (had tks to Dr. Herman) a severe case of Psoriasis, and now two weeks with the medicines I'm much better. The staff has always called me in advance to confirm the appointment. Also, and this is important for me, most of the staff is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Herman and the Staff are very professionals and also friendly. I received a referral letter last October call the clinic and scheduled an appointment. Front desk gave me an appointment and instructed that I would get a reminder text the week of my appointment to confirm. Never received a reminder text so I called front desk and I was told that I never made an appointment… which was so untrue. I called to schedule my referral appointment and I was given the date of 06DEC21 at 1300. I asked what I needed to bring and was told only my military id and my DL, the first thing they asked me for was the referral letter. I showed up about 10 minutes earlier, filled paperwork and was told to sit in the waiting area. The person at the front desk never mentioned to me that I was not scheduled to be seen, just told me to wait. After ONE hour wait, I approached the front desk to ask IF I was going to be seen, to which the person behind the desk replied to me: “I don't know who scheduled you, but you are not booked" so I asked, then I'm not going to be seen? I had an appointment scheduled at 12:15… and was still waiting until 2:15 to be seen. BOTH Doctors are absolutely amazing!!! Sure I had to wait one time for a bit but the last few visits they got me right in! And it’s worth the wait. Both doctors are thorough and seem to really care about their patients. And I love that the doctors are a father/daughter team. I highly recommend this place.

Waited over an hour to be seen. Went in for something specific and told something else. The doctor brushes you off. Not HIPPA compliant, the doctor left the speaker on from another room and you could hear everything. Doctor tried selling me products up to 150 dollars for 4 items and also sent in a prescription for ivermectin that you could only get in Abilene. I don't wear makeup and he tried selling me a makeup acne product, he didn't listen. This place isn't woman friendly and doctor is stuck in his ways. Always a long wait, usually over 3hrs. Don't try to get staff on phone because they won't answer and if they do they leave you on hold forever.

Scheduled an appointment beginning of September, was confirmed for an appointment mid month, was told that I would be contacted via phone/text to confirm appointment. I received no confirmation text, so I decided to call to double check appointment times, I was then told there was never an appointment scheduled for me at either location for any time. Very odd for me to have a date and time programmed into my phone, but not have an appointment. Front staff didn't ask to accommodate appointment, when I finally inquired for future dates front desk commented that the next open date will be open for October. VERY RUDE STAFF........!!!! Not even a 1 star they deserve it. I went today and had an appointment at 9:15am. The receptionist named Carla asked me for my health ID card insurance and I was like I'm sorry because I don't have one,I was referred through tricare here and she was like you wouldn't be seen without it. So I called my husband and ask about the health card that the lady was talking about and my husband was like you don't need a health card because we are being referred through tricare which is our health insurance. Then I asked her politely if she could speak with my husband and she said yes. After her and my husband talked for like a minute she handed my phone back and was like ma'am I was asking for you're military ID card which it is your health card ID as well. I had to make an appointment over a month out. Then I Waited an hour past my appointment time. I said something about it to the receptionist and she brought me into a room immediately. The room they put me in is gorgeous. Shortly there after, the dr came in and was very friendly and knowledgeable. But I’m disappointed that I waited this long for them to tell me they wouldn’t be freezing my wart off today. If I knew that, I wouldn’t have even waited. They prescribed me a few creams and some vitamins. Then they gave me a lotion which was a little bit bigger than a travel size. When I went to discharge, they told me the lotion was $40! Overall, Dr.Karen Herman & Dr.Peter Herman are helping me with my Accutane it is good. One thing I can complain is the WAIT. Had an appointment at 11:45 am and got seen at 1:45pm. I mean what is the point of setting an appointment? I understand they have patients but they need to work on their time. Maybe ask patients to arrive 20-15 minutes before. I mean it is ridiculous. Not professional at all. Then 42$ for a pregnancy test every visit which I need to come once a month, for the next 6 months which I also think is so ridiculous. I usually don't post negative reviews about doctors but I'm making an exception in this case. If I could give this doctor a lower rating I would. At the time of my son's appt. I told the staff that I did not need to pay a co-pay because I had met my catastrophic cap. But they gave me some story about how they just started accepting my insurance and that if I paid the co-pay at the time of my son's appointment they would refund me any co-pay I was owed. They even gave me the email and name of the person I would need to contact for the refund. Well I got a letter from my insurance company stating that I did not have a co-pay for my son's appointment ( I even emailed it to them). After waiting a week for a response to my email. I called the billing dept to ask for a refund and they outright refused to issue me the refund I was owed. They denied even speaking to me about this. Dr. Peter Herman is a professional and capable dermatologist. He is one of the better dermatologists I have seen. His down-to-earth approach was welcoming and assuring. He treated and resolved my dermatological issues. I am delighted with the medical care I received. I would not hesitate to wholeheartedly recommend him to my family, friends, and associates.

Dr. Herman treated my condition with patience and professionalism. Great bed side manners, and a good sense of humor, I read all the negative reviews before choosing to visit his office, I was treated with dignity and he explained everything to both my queen and me. The office is regularly behind, not just a little bit, but be prepared to wait at least 2.5 hours in the waiting room. Then, be prepared to wait in a small, hot back room for another 45 minutes to an hour. This has happened EVERY TIME.

My last comment got deleted so I decided to write another review. This place is HORRIBLE!! I went in to get checked in multiple areas. Before going in i was going that my copay would be $75, waited 2 hours and a half to be taken to a room where I waited some more. When the doctor came in he read everything I mentioned to his nurse and he said he would only be focusing on one area and that I would have to make another appointment for the rest. So I should him my mole and he said he need to remove it and that it couldn’t be done that day so I would have to go back. He only lasted a few minutes with me and left. When I left the receptionist then billed me $112 when originally I was told it would be $75. I didn’t want to make a scene so I paid. Appointment was at eight and the nurse arrived at 8:10 then didn't start putting people in rooms until 8:30. This doctor, in my opinion based on my visits, is focused entirely on charging as much as possible with zero focus on providing patient care.

Run away from this place. They are fruad. Long story short, Im a student and i have health insurance. I had a skin issue and i was asking what it was. Before doing any thing i asked if they covered my insurance. They said he accepts it and tells me to sign a paper. They charged my insurance and they sent me a big bill in my house for that office visit. I didnt even get treated there i was there for 15 mins and they billed me soo much money for nothing. I over paid then got reimbursed via my insurance. I will not be going back to my follow up. They took my payment while i was waiting for my procedure to be done. Not what I expect.

I have been a patient for 40 years. He is brilliant and can identify problems other Drs have misdiagnosed. He has always been kind to me. I don't understand comment about his being rude. Problems of waiting times are justified, but he gives each patient a lot of time.

Dr. Herman has a lot of patients. He is very experienced and has a warm bedside manner. Though the wait is long, it is worth it. Dr. Herman shows genuine interest in the patient and the patient's concern.

After waiting an hour we were told it would be another hour and a half to be taken back to wait even more time in the room for our first appointment. We decided to cancel and leave. This office is a disgrace.

Here’s my experience at Dr. Herman’s office, I was scheduled in for facial peel, the lady who put the solutions on my face , had me lay back , and with an extra wet cotton of acetone , as she went to close to my nostrils, a large amount of acetone went through my nose and down my throat. It was such a big amount that I stood up. I told her some went down my throat and she didn’t seem to care. On another visit, As I was waiting in one of the rooms, Dr. Herman stops by and opens the door, says Hi. I say hello, he comes into the room and ask questions like how is your skin, any irritations ? I’m like no , and he then leaves soon after . He was in the room for about a minute . I didn’t think anything of it, until I went to pay. The receptionist was like , you owe an additional 25 dollars for your follow-up. I was like what follow up, I didn’t schedule one, I was only there for the skin treatment( which was a joke) . She then tells me Dr.Herman said he performed a follow up . I told no, he only said Hi and asked me one question. The receptionist then tells me that’s the follow up,. Like I said, I didn’t schedule a follow up , he basically went into the room uninvited and started talking , so how could I ignore that ? Anyway, long story short, I was charged an additional 25 dollars on top of my skin care visit , that’s s separate cost . After that happened , I never went back. Worst wait times in El Paso. Stay away. Staff is not polite and have no idea what is going on.

Prices are to high and Dr Herman didn't even cure my skin problem. Nurses and receptionist are so irresponsible they don't return calls.

Dr. Peter Herman may be a great doctor but I'll never know because I was not about to wait an additional 2+ hours after already waiting 2 hours after my scheduled appointment. I think it's great that he spends a lot of time with his patients, but then his office needs to schedule accordingly!!!

The actual visit with the Dr, was not bad. However, they "sent" a prescription to the pharmacy of their choice claming I would get a better price. I requested to use my pharmacy but they said the rate would be "that good". I was told by the staff on a Friday, I would have it on my door step by Monday. Well Tuesday came and NOTHING. Called the pharmacy and they didn't have in stock the "coupon" with the saving Dr. Herman staff ranted about. The coupon would not be in stock for a month. I was also told that they had already told Dr. Herman staff they didn't have the coupon. Apparently Dr. Herman staff was now gonna call it into another out of town pharmacy ONE WEEK after my initial visit. It is now 11 days since my appt for a rash on my daughter's leg and I was told I would get a call tomorrow(day 12). I will update this post once I have the actual prescription in my hand and let you know how many days it actually took. I DO NOT understand why I wasn't allowed to fill at my pharmacy. I assume they get some sort of credit/incentive for sending patients their way. I give the office a 1 star because I feel the staff is not doing their job correctly. Not to mention while we were there waiting 2 female employees were gossiping in front of the entire waiting room loud enough for me/us to hear. Took time off work to make this appointment and I wish there was a way to charge the office for my waste of time. Rude front desk personnel and no regard for people's time. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Never will i return to this doctors office. I overpaid because I was overcharged. I overpaid, is what my insurance has told me now I am trying to get my money back. You will never get a straight answer from any of them. An itemized bill, forget about it. You won't see that either. They give you the run around and it never ends, 2016. It is now SEP 2018, Still waiting on my refund. I live out of town. My insurance is getting the run around too. Do not go here unless you really enjoy waiting rooms!!! Nice and intelligent doctor, however his wait times are absurd! Yesterday I waited 5 1/2 hours after my appointment time and ended up just leaving. I also waited 3 hours at my previous appointment. He may not be meaning to send this message to his patients, but by making his patients wait 2, 3, 4, 5 hours after their appointment times, he is telling them that he does not respect their time.

Do not go here! I waited over two hours to be seen both times I went (one of my appointments was at 8:30am when they open). They over charged me, didn’t submit everything they charged me for to the insurance, and and have lied to my insurance saying they the doctor and office manager won’t be in for a couple days but when we call right after they’re both in. They say to call back to talk to office manager but office manager can’t hear on the phone. Won’t give you biopsy results unless u go in.

We returned today to Doctor Germans office as the office called yesterday requesting adamently to see the doctor as he needed to speak and advise my wife of her results. Now when a doctors office calls you and advises you of this type of necessity for a biopsy result one normally thinks the worse. We would be completely surprised as to why once the doctor went into the exam office. He stated by reading the records and the laboratory results which we both were happy as they were negative. He then went through why they were negative. He then went through the wound care procedures so all is well at point. After completing the exam he then turns time as says Ernesto what you wrote on your review was very bad it was very bad as I can lose patients! I replied its the truth. Now remember we were called in from one day to another for this important doctor patients laboratory review which I know knew was false! Their never was a medical urgency whatsoever what had necessitated the appointment was his Bad review! Now my initial review was detailing how they had told us we needed to take the biopsy sample to a laboratory which also has an incorrect address which we found out after I wasted gas and time searching for it until we verified it no longer exist. I then returned placed the sample on the counter and stated it was the wrong address and patients should not be delivering their own samples it was their responsibility. During the several hours we were there we saw several calls from patients being ignored and what I considered poor customer service. So the Doctor Herman states that Blue Cross Blue Shield had instructed them to tell patients to deliver their own samples to laboratories and I asked him why they did not explain that to my wife which he then told another lie and said he did. I became very very upset at a so called medical professional disputing my wife's answer. Now during these back and forth Doctor Herman was violating my person space getting right in front of me with his defense of his staff and himself. After subjecting us to a unsleepable night thinking the worse may soon happen and then realizing why he had scheduled the exam confrontation so quickly I told him FU and left the office. This so called professional was not professional in how he approached a bad review or his reason for including my wife in such a unprofessional manner. He never asked me what they could have done to remedy the problem he never asked us anything other than going on the defenaive. His conduct and ethics to me are extremely unprofessional and inexcusable. He then told my wife that she should be ashamed of me. Well doctor I suppose you would not stick up for your wife but I sure as Hell do. The person who should be ashamed is YOU! You demonstrated poor ethics by allowing your office to scare my wife and I! You should be ashamed of yourself in not writing to me and only me to discuss the review. You lied to me and my wife about Blue Cross Blue Shield as they are on the record as never requiring patients to take samples themselves to laboratories. I am contacting the Medical Association of you unprofessional manner and ethics. I am lobbing a formal complaint via Blue Cross Blue Shield on the latter so they can conduct their own evaluation. I have contacted TCEQ to evaluate your practices of sending patients with samples to laboratories to verify no state, county or Federal standards are being violated. As per your staff as they advised YOU that they instruct all patients to take their samples. So you have not heard the last of me!
