Office staff are very caring and warm. Dr. Suter is amazing and so knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her for any person. I am an Occupational therapist that has had experience with vision therapy and sought out a specialist for my mother who had vision changes due to a CVA. Dr. Suter and her entire staff are so incredibly warm, professional and knowledgeable. I am so very thankful I was referred to Dr. Suter. Very impressed!

I absolutely adore Dr. Suter. She always puts her patients first and is obviously very passionate about her work. On top of that her office staff is amazing!

I called to make an appointment for my 9 month old baby girl to see Dr. Suter. I had to leave a message. I received a call back the next day. The gal on the phone was very sweet and helpful at setting up an appointment for my daughter. We were able to get in within two weeks. Dr. Suter was kind, patient, and thorough in her exam of my baby girl. She took her time and gave my daughter breaks when necessary. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and kind as well. Dr Suter is absolutely wonderful and super patient! My daughter is special needs and she is always so patient with her.

We have a 3 year old with special needs. Dr Suter was amazing. So patient and so kind. I would recommend her to anyone.

We haven't started therapy yet but are very excited to begin working with Dr. Suter. She has helped us get to the bottom of what is going on with my struggling reader (8yrs old) now that we've got a diagnosis we can help him. The office is very professional and structured. If you have a type-A personality, love structure, are detail oriented , and not afraid of hard work, you'll love this place! I would give zero stars if I could. This place is absolutely terrible. I called to make sure they would grant the mask mandate exception for my developmentally disabled daughter and for myself and husband (medical condition). I was told yes and drove 45 minutes to my Appt. When the assistant was in The room we get told only one parents is allowed with my daughter all while the assistant is being very rude. They go and talk to the dr and I was told that they had just made the rules up that day and only one was allowed in. My daughter, who has autism, was already terrified and they just made her anxiety skyrocket. It’s been several days and she’s still scared and still talking about it. The dr and assistant were absolutely terrible and I will never go there again, I would never recommend this place. They obviously care more about the money than the patient because I was charged $50 for a missed appointment when we actually were in the office and the doctor was refusing to see my daughter if one of the parents didn’t leave. The experience was very professionally done for our 6 year old. The emails to direct us of our visit, what to expect when arriving, and to the "welcome" from the staff made this a great experience. All our questions and concerns were answered without rushing through the explanation. We got some basic answers to what is hindering our child at this visit.. and look forward to working with this team. I am so thankful for this group to be in Bakersfield!. The staff and Dr Suter are fantastic I am really happy with the care provided to my child.

Awesome experience. Dr engaged with my child so we’ll. She took her time and covered every corner to ensure accuracy. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

We love going to her, she makes my daughter feel comfortable and has a lot of patience with her. She is very thorough and answers any questions you may have and explains everything involving your child’s care and the diagnosis. We’ve been seeing her for the last 3 years. Highly recommend going to her! We don’t go any where else!

Staff and doctor are amazing! Stormy from the front desk is especially helpful and goes above and beyond for the clients. My father just had a stroke and needed to be tested she helped get him in faster and assisted with getting all records from quest because they had been delaying the processes! I can only say that our experience with Dr. Suter was amazing and I am extremely thankful that she truly cares about her patients and takes the time to review and assess everything in detail. My son with special needs gets frustrated with doctors but Dr Suter was very patient with him and made him feel so comfortable while doing his eye exam. She is one of the best eye Dr. We have ever been.

I have been with you for over 10 years and you put me off time and again because of the COVID 19. Now you have decided someone else will be my Dr. without you am calling me!! I had to find out on my own, and I have lost my benefits for this year, I am in my 70s Same on you!!!

My family member needed a note for the school from Dr. Penelope and I had gone to the office since the office does not answer their phone calls. I gave the office staff the information needed and I assumed it would take about a week to be written. We had gone twice after asking about the note and it was not ready and by the last time (the third time after) we had told them it was urgent and needed to be written. The office had to call us to ask us again what the note was about which shows that it was never in process to begin with. It took almost an entire month to be written and one would assume it would be quite a long note. Nope. The note was literally 3 sentences, a waste of time. We were frequent patients to this office but the entire situation was unprofessional and shows how little they care about their patients. The services are top-notch and we really appreciate all that they have done to help my son. The reason for taking 2 stars away is because his last assessment appointment with the Dr we waited an 1.5 past our appointment time before we were seen.

This was our first apt with her and she was so nice and patient with my son who is on the spectrum and gets a little anxious at doctors apts, especially new doctors he has never met. She made him feel at ease and it meant a lot to me that she was so patient and explained everything to him before she did anything. Her staff was also very nice. I will definitely be going back. Dr. Suter is a Godsend!! My daughter was misdiagnosed with ADHD for 3 years and we tried everything to help her. Nothing worked. We went to see Dr. Suter and with her help and vision therapy we are already seeing improvements in her school and everyday life. We thank God everyday for finding Dr. Suter. Dr. Suter was very thorough and explained things to where they were easy to understand. She takes her time with her patients which is hard to find these days. Would highly recommend to anyone else.

I visited Dr Suter from North Carolina to get a thorough exam from a neuro-optometrist. Thorough does not begin to describe the care I received. She has excellent and professional staff. I cannot recommend a doctor more highly.

That one-star review is about the author, not Dr. Suter or her staff. After seeing NINE healthcare professionals, including two neurologists -- none of whom had the training or professional integrity to take the time to correctly diagnose me-- Dr. Suter was able to determine the cause of my vision and balance issues in minutes. Finally! Her staff is so warm and friendly; it is a wonderful, supportive environment, and I am truly grateful for their help. After seven months of looking for answers, I finally have the treatment I need.

It took 2 months to make an apt with this office. I made it still. At the apt they never informed me I needed to take my previous prescription. After they had already tested me and was in the waiting room to see the doc. They said I had to reschedule to bring in my prescription. I had already waited 2 months for this apt now it was going to be 4 months. Still I waited. Well 2 days before my next apt the called me to tell me they aren’t taking new patients. 4 months waisted. Experience is always professional and appointments go smoothly.

Dr Suter has helped me with something that I have been suffering from for for years. No one else was helping. I will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Suter was fantastic with my autistic son! She was calm, friendly, and had an excellent support from her staff members.

Dr. Suter genuinely cares about helping patients - moreso than many other providers. She prioritizes patient care over financial gain. That's a very strong claim that not many providers will live up to. Over the past 3 years of managing healthcare for my fiance's traumatic brain injury, I've found that many providers are in the business of charging as much money as they think they can get away with for services that have little to no sound scientific evidence of being effective. Dr Suter, on the other hand, spearheaded putting together a whole textbook of evidence based practice for vision rehabilitation for traumatic brain injury. Despite her higher degree of expertise that actually has a degree of scientific evidence behind it, her pricing is structured to make her accessible - she is in this to help people, not to get rich. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same of countless other providers I have contacted over the last 3 years. My fiance just saw Dr. Suter for a comprehensive vision evaluation for traumatic brain injury. I'd previously taken her to a neuro-ophthalmologist and a neuro-optometrist completing his residency in behavioral+neuro-optometry. Having sat in on all three evaluations, I can easily say Dr. Suter's evaluation was for more thorough. It was quite clear Dr. Suter has experience with neuro-optometric vision evaluation. My fiance and I were extremely pleased with Dr. Suter's care! Vision rehabilitation for my fiance will be an on-going process. We have confidently decided to place our trust and limited money in Dr. Suter's expertise and genuine care. If you spend time reading through other reviews, you'll notice all negative feedback is about a person or two in Dr. Suter's staff. This is unfortunate because it detracts individuals from an optometry practice run by an exceptional provider. Our children love Dr Suter. She has a wonderful personality for working with children, and is amazingly insightful. We wouldn't trust their vision to anyone else!

We've been coming to Dr. Suter since 2013. My son and I love her and the team. Appointments can be hard to come by, but Dr. Suter and her team do their best to accommodate patients. I have never been happier with an optometrist. I am sad to leave this office once we move.

We recently visited Dr. Suter for my 2yr old son. He is not one to sit, be patient or follow directions so I was a bit nervous about the exam. Dr. Suter was so patient and worked with him diligently. It was really amazing to see her approach with such a small child. We are thankful for the help we received in getting a diagnosis and now have hope with a plan of things to come. The office is set up nicely with books and a few toys. The selection of glasses were also very nice. The gal that assisted us in selecting the frames was very knowledgeable and kind. Horrible, will not use again. I have been waiting for my daughter's glasses for over a month. No one answers the phone or returns your call. I would look elsewhere, avoid a headache

I was referred to Sure after a traumatic brain injury. Her to exams and therapy helped me recover my ability to read and work. She identified my cataract. The cataract Surgeon praises her highly.

I would give zero stars if I could. There office is by far the worst i have ever experienced. Complete lack of concern and disregard for their customers needs. Doctors are great, but NOT worth the headache that comes with dealing with the office staff. Go somewhere else and save yourself so much time and hassle. Optical will not return your phone calls. They are dealing with children with major vision issues who NEED their glasses, and it doesn't matter how many messages you leave, they will not

The staff are nice,Dr is nice.They are bad about returning calls,or calling to let you know your glasses are in.I called on Tuesday about concerns with my daughter's new glasses,tomorrow will be Friday and still no call back yet from them.
