Thank you, Dr Pavani Kurmana!!! Doctor did a great job for my family annual checkups, and visits related to neck, shoulder pain! Doctor did a thorough body check up, clearly explaining on the diet and well being, suggestion on handling the work related repetitive stress injuries!

I have been a patient of Dr. Kuruma for many years, and I find her to be highly competent, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend her to others.

The assistant entered all the wrong information on my chart. It was my first visit. She was rude and condescending. The doctor was fine but seems even with all my correct information given to them on a copy from home they still got it wrong. This concerns me as they even put that I’m from a place I’ve never been and insurance was incorrect. They don’t listen to you and are just horrible. I think doctor karuma is great after the departure of doctor parmalee she did take on a lot of his cases and probably not an easy job So to all the negative people Well I'll just leave that 1 alone

I'm sad to say that my 105 year old grandmother passed away on April 24, 2019. She was a little over a month shy of her 106 year old birthday. I took my grandmother to see doctor Kuruma right after Washington Hospital Emergency had determined that my grandmother had a compression fracture in her lower back to seek a referral for hospice care. Dr Kuruma had been my mother and grandmother’s primary doctor for about 1.5 to 2 years. My grandmother was in a lot of pain, and she lost her mobility and appetite after her fall. My sister-in-law, who is a Physical Therapist, told me to ask Dr. Kuruma for a hospice referral for my grandmother. Being that she was almost 106 years old, she had a compression fracture, and her health was declining, nobody thought that a hospice referral would be an unreasonable request. Dr Kuruma declined to give a referral for hospice care for my grandmother when we needed her the most. She preferred a “We wait and see if your grandmother gets worse approach to treating my grandmother.” My grandmother's three month death sentence after her fall reconfirms that Dr. Kuruma's decision not to give a hospice referral was deadly wrong. My family and I sought out a new doctor immediately after Dr. Kuruma declined to give my grandmother a hospice referral. We could not afford for anyone to gamble on my grandmother’s health with a “We will wait and see” approach. Fortunately, we found a good doctor that was willing to refer my grandmother to a hospice program based on her compression fracture, advanced age, and declining health. If we had not sought out another doctor to refer my grandmother for hospice care, she would have probably had to suffer outside of her comfortable home in a long-term care facility. Hence, my mother and I have no medical background, and my grandmother became bed ridden during the three months leading up to her death. My grandmother suffered a lot for almost three months before she finally passed away. My mother and I also struggled a lot because we were the primary caregivers for my grandmother during this difficult situation. Fortunately we were able to keep my grandmother home throughout this horrible ordeal due to some extra support from hospice. To sum things up, good judgement is critical when you are a doctor. It is better to air on the side of caution when you are dealing with an older person's heath issues. Dr Kuruma made a critical error in judgement when she declined to give a referral for my grandmother's hospice care. Therefore, based on this experience, I can say with 100% confidence that I would not trust this doctor to make critical decisions on my health. If I could give zero stars I would. This woman has the bed-side manner of a dead fish. I made an appointment to get some meds refilled and get a physical waiver for a diving class, told the staff that ahead of time, and they said it could be accommodated. She refuses to write a script for one of the meds saying that "it's not something her practice does"-- it's adderall, not oxycodone, and she says I need some kind of proof of my dosage because I'm not sure if it was for 10 or 15, she comes back and says there is no 15, well then it's ten I tell her, which is no good, apparently I have to produce an old bottle of pills to prove to her that I have ADHD and need these to be able to think straight at work. Clearly this is disorganized enough to prove how badly my thoughts fly all over the place. I call back to schedule the appointment and now she says can't sign off on the release form for a diving class (just stating that she finds no reason I would be unable to dive, as in, no major heart problems and no respiratory issues) and that I need a psychiatrist to sign off on it--- what????
