I went to Dr. Schreck to seek assistance with my newborns latch. He had been evaluated by an ENT for a tongue tie and they had deemed it not necessary to cut. When I mentioned this, Dr. Schreck became very defensive and insisted repeatedly that cutting his tongue tie is the only I’d be able to breasfeed. When I asked about the evidence to support this she told me it was weak. She didn’t take my history, watch him latch (he did successfully in this appt) or listen to what the lactation consultant said. I have never felt so unheard or unsupported in a doctors visit. Dr. Schreck lactation consultant was amazing as was the rest of the staff in the breastfeeding clinic but I’d recommend everyone stay far far away from her.
