Very good surgeon very professional and caring highly-qualified Dr

I have been a patient of Dr Vaughn's for about twelve years as we monitored my Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm. When it came time to finally do the surgery, (very involved and dangerous) he did a fantastic job. It has been five year and I have had no problems related to it at all. No, I need to have my left cortid artery opened and cleaned out and there is no one I would trust more to do it.

Very happy with Dr. Vaughn and his entire office. Check-in was quick, wait was next to nothing, and Dr. Vaughn was very easy to talk with. He listened to my issues and concerns, discussed his thoughts and I was able to easily set up my tests and follow up appt. He was at the hospital and had me in surgery pronto. I feel very fortunate that I had the very best care from him.

very caring. Takes time to explain until you understand.

If there were a way to give no stars I would have selected that. Without going into a ton of detail I would say this doctor is the worst practitioner I have ever experienced. I visited him for a case of severe edema in one leg. He prescribed surgery to close off a vein (and that surgery went well), however immediately following the surgery my edema got much worse and resulted in lymph fluid actually leaking through my skin and puddling on the floor. His advise was to keep my legs elevated (I was already doing that overnight) and threatened to put me in hospital. Obviously it is not possible to stay in bed 24X7. Eventually an open wound developed which has been treated successfully with the advice to wear compression socks to address the swelling. Because his diagnosis nor the surgery properly addressed the original edema issue and his follow up care was a joke I would not recommend this doctor. I found Dr. Vaughn to be straight forward not mincing words just saying it like it is. I found his up front manner refreshing compared to the doctors that talk in medical terms that are used to confuse and leave you wondering what just happened or leaving you afraid that you will not make it through the night. You may not wish to hear what he is saying but you will know what will happen and what to expect in the future. He's not one to run unnecessary test or run test just because he can.

Probably the best vascular surgeon in arizona. Very honest person unlike the majority of physicians in the area. Will take as much time as needed to explain problems and upcoming surgeries. A very rare physician to find. He is very well known throughout arizona for his work.
