I have had a good experience with Doctor sutera’s office and staff. You have to have patience and if you can not get ahold of staff keep calling until you do. I had a great NP then several left the office, and I still was taken good care of. I have a new NP Nina and she listens and is kind and I appreciate that. I have a spinal injury from the 80's that has gotten horribly worse after a few falls. I had doctors in Seattle that recommended a pain pump, but I chose to keep pushing myself along until I couldn't & that time has come. I'm glad I waited so I can try the safer stimulator first. In the meantime... he's been making sure that I have pain meds until the implant of something that helps to get the pain under control. I Love not being treated like I'm an addict just bcuz I need help with debilitating pain... LHC doctors are horrendous. The office staff has been great in my fight with my insurance... I can't thank Kim enough... we went through a lot with my insurance.

So I've been trying to call them all day yesterday & today & none of the front desk people will answer plus all voicemail boxes are full. Lately if I need medication refilled I have to keep calling until someone answers or physically go in. I understand that they are understaffed but it shouldn't take more that multiple days of calling to get someone to call you to make an appointment or get refills. I've been there physically before & they would literally dodge phone calls in front of patients. Just horrible! My review is only for Nina she has cost him many patients. I went there for over 15years and had to discharge after issues with Nina who was not even my provider but still managed to create problems for me every time given the opportunity. One of her patients told me that it’s bc I’m not a male. I tried to schedule an appointment with this office. Spoke to a guy named Keith yesterday. He asked me to get a referral to this clinic. He also wanted to know who referred me to this clinic. I told him my insurance doesn't require a referral. Long story short He promised to call me back by the end of the day yesterday so I could schedule an appointment. No call back. Just got off the phone with Keith-he was barely civil. Demanded that I get a referral before he would even speak with me. I will not be going to this clinic if Keith is a representative of how this office works. Don't need any rude people in my life.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Sutera's for years. We have been seeing Colleen Rose since she started there. We never have to wait more than a few minutes to get in to see her. We get in and out quickly although she does ask about changes or problems. She is so nice, gives us excellent service, and is so respectful of our time. She is very professional yet personable.

Just sent us to a Dr in Vegas who cannot help or take our insurance. Now left without a Dr & pain medicine. Dr office does not fill pain pumps, outsource thru Penn Tech. Office staff does not return calls or give messages. Cannot make appointment. Wait times are 2 hrs. Nina the NP is very rude & should be fired. Will not answer questions. I have been seeing Dr Sutera for 16 years and he is a warm and caring Dr. I just cant say enough good about the man. he got really sick a few years ago and thats when the caos started, He had to start hiring nurses and PA's to pick up the slack for him, and its still that way but I assume he is no longer sick. But now u only get to see him for epidurals. Many years ago he was the only pain mgmt dr in the area and there were timeshe was so busy that I waited til 8 pm just to get in to see him when my appt was 3 ot 4 pm. but he was worth the wait !!! thats when u saw him all the time, b4 he hired all the nurses and other staff. he had one person at the front desk, one nurse, a PA for trigger points and him for everything else. so he was blown away busy ! The office staff now needs improved alot, they are rude, and short tempered, and unprofessional. the nurses and PA's need more education and need to stop thinking they no everything. I have several MRIs showing 2 herniated discs in my back, they have them in hard copy of my records too, they just arent on the computer. but nina wanted a x ray, so I did it and since they didnt mention the herniated discs, she assumes they are gone. they dont magically disappear !!! so I asked her to pull my last MRI, she refused and said we have to go by the last test which is the xray and it shows nothing wrong other than normal aging stuff. so I offered to bring in a copy of the one I have and she wont accept it. herniated discs dont just disappear, they are still there, she needs to see that so she can better treat my pain. ALSO, the drug tests, I do NOT drink, not at all. yet she tells me I had alcohol in my urine and my valium showed up. she refused to give e my pain meds until I had a clean urine test, with no alchhol or valium in it. I told her my valium is low dose (2mg) and prescribed for PTSD, but she said If I dont stop taking it I cant have pain meds. then about the alcohol, I told her I dont drink at all, so there couldnt be alcohol in my urine, she said If I ate liquor filled candy or cake, that would make it show up. also some diabetics can test positive for alcohol because of meds or insulins, but if I test positive again, I cant have pain pills so I had to go to my primary care dr and have him check my meds to see if they were causing a positive urine test, and he said they were not. and I have not eaten anything with booze in it. so I went for a 2nd test a month later, I stopped the valium , which my dr wasnt happy about, so she put me on a different medication. and behold my test came out clear. then I got my meds, but only 7 days worth !!! once I finished the 7 days I called Sutera's office and told them and they faxed the rx over to the pharmacy a 30 day supply of low dose, I mean really low dose pain meds. (dilaudid, 2mg) LOL. she said she cant raise the mg for a year. Nina was a bit rude about the xray/ mri situation, and the urine test. but I have caught her when she was in a good mood and she was MUCH NICER. but if she isnt in a good mood then watch out. Its not right that after all these years, I dont get to see DR SUTERA when I feel I need to see him instead of a nurse, we should have the right to see him once in a while just to go over meds and tests and stuff with him, especially well established patients like me who have been with him 16 years ! Theres is another pain mgmt dr in bullhead now, Dr Valpiani, my room mae goes to him and she likes him. there is another in fort mojave Dr Venger. NEVER go to Venger. he has lost his license to practice in 3 states !!! he has the licenses back now after his suspention was lifted Venger was my moms Dr, He did her brain surgery to put in a simple drain to drain the blood from a subdural hemaoma. this was just b4 he got his licenses suspended, and she ended up in the hospital for 3 months when it was just suppose to be a 2 - 3 day hospital stay, thats it, but that wasnt how it went. she was in there for 3 months. I have been seeing Dr Sutera for 16 years and he is a warm and caring Dr. I just cant say enough good about the man. he got really sick a few years ago and thats when the caos started, He had to start hiring nurses and PA's to pick up … More

No, I'm going to tell you about calling to talk to them first. Numerous times I've tried to call and talk to them, my phone actually times out after 17 minutes. So I have to call back. And again listen to the phone ringing. They have messed up my appointments, without letting me know, so show up, told the appointment was changed, as the person I was seeing quit. So saw no one. Due to the meds I'm taking, need to see Doctor. The worst.

The 31st Dr Sutera's office called reminding me of my appointment on the 1st telling me it had been a while so if I missed the appointment I wouldn't get my pain medications. The 1st my husband drove the 60 miles to Dr Sutera's office. When I signed in they told me my appointment had been changed to the end of April. Really, these idiots just called me yesterday and threatened me if I didn't show up I would lose my meds. You're lucky if you see the same doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant two times in a row. They have continued to lower patients medications as their conditions worsen. Dr Sutera was NOT a pain management physician as required by Arizona law last time I checked.

In the 10 months I've been going to this office, NOT ONCE have my prescriptions been sent to the pharmacy when they were supposed to have been. I have anxiety attacks every month when it's time to call in for refills because I know it's going to be a huge hassle AND that I'm JUST BARELY going to get those refills mere hours before running out. Last summer my insurance denied my prescription because they failed to receive preauthorization from Dr Sutera's office after REPEATED emails and phone calls (apparently the 'preauthorization person' couldn't be bothered). In September I spent 40 minutes speaking with the office manager Marisa about these issues, giving her a 3 page copy of all the problems I had been having at this office, to no avail. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. If you have a choice, do not become a new patient here.

Horrible , Horrible Run from this office if there is anyway you can possibly do it ! They LIE about the amount of medication they can prescribe by law NO MATTER what you condition may be. Do NOT believe a word they say as it is not the LAW nor fact. I feel bad for the patient(s) that are stuck in this town and have to deal with incompetent doctors / PAs Etc. You wait hours after your scheduled appointment to be seen then deal with their stupidity. I was a patient there for years and unfortunately this office is about the only pain management in this area. I have moved to a different area of Arizona and have a wonderful caring pain doctor along with a pharmacy that goes above and beyond. Treats you with nothing but respect. The office staff at this facility is just as bad. I do not believe they have a 3rd grade education at best. Doctors that work or live in this area are here because they cannot make it in a normal city with educated people. This posting is 100% accurate

After several visits, I'm just done. The office's notes are shoddy, they don't have in their records when adjustments were made to my intrathecal pump. I've arrived on time with my appointment card to be told that I'm not on the schedule. And as an existing patient with new insurance (that day) that doesn't require referrals, I was told they won't take my insurance without a referral. My appointment right before Sutera's office went online to confirm the needed information. Since I drive 39 miles to get to them, I asked for a physical therapy referral in my town. I even gave them a name and number. But three times they sent a referral to a clinic in Bullhead City. Over and over again it's been an issue. Now that my pump is being removed, I'm moving on.

I've been at this office over a decade and a model patient putting up with so much insanity. You will ask why, because there are no other places to go and everywhere else is so far away. Nothing is close and when you have physical limitations it makes it very difficult getting the help you need. Putting up with the nonsense from this office, then hearing the truth, im no longer the quiet model patient. I'm not letting the level of negligence potentially kill someone..or force a limb to be removed from someone else. Had I learned sooner they could keep writing a perscription for the brace, I would have filed a complaint sooner and not allowed this to happen. I have seen Dr Sutera 3 times. I was forced into filing a complaint with Arizona Medical Board. The titanium rod in my leg is broken in half. The surgeon who put the rod in told me I had to wear the brace prescribed to protect my leg for the rest of my life.. Marlice Parker stopped perscribing my brace stating my insurance wouldnt pay for it, which turns out to be a lie. Marlice didn't want to do the paperwork for a prior authorization.. Now by NOT using a brace the rod is broken in half and im facing below the knee amputation. This office hates doing anything, but want to be paid for everything. They lie, they cuss at you. Defame your character when they are questioned why did they lie. They retaliate against you if you push at all and file a complaint about their negligence. They dont like following the rules that the Medical board has implemented and the A.R.S. Statutes that makes their negligence, criminal and civil liability. I've never known any other adult medical professionals who behave like a bunch of spoiled 3rd graders after being busted in a lie. It doesnt say much for their character. They bill out of state labs and try getting paid by Arizona residents who have Arizona insurance ONLY.. Arizona insurance doesnt pay out of state labs leaving me with a bill since 2017 for over $2,500.00.. Thats right, $2,500 dollars for 1 UA test that my insurance would not pay, because I dont have Nevada insurance. You would think Dr Sutera hired office staff to do his billing that actually know what their jobs are, but they change their office staff more than ive seen any office. You cant ever keep track who the office manager is because they are always changing. Nurse Practitioners who act like they have a medical degree, but they are just nurses who didnt go to medical school falsely overstating their authority and their medical reach. This office needs to be shut down. I've been at this office over a decade and a model patient putting up with so much insanity. I just saw dr. Sutera and I got nothing but nice people and very helpful for my need for help on my back. Yes I was told that they can't give me anything because I'm new and I have to do a bunch of test and I understand that very much. But I wasn't there for the meds. I was there to get help with my back and legs. Yes the meds help but I want to get help with the pain not the drugs. So I have nothing bad to say about them.

I left my pain management in mojave. Found Suteras office to be bizzy but what Doctors isn't. That's the insurance companies making impossible for most doctors to practice the way they wanIt, the days of family practice from birthing to appendix and other things doctors used to do are gone. Anyway with that in mind I found more one on one time then what I was getting. I believe sometimes they are testing people for pill seeking by using the two week fill. So I recommend them.

Worst place Ever. I was treated like a drug addict from the minute I walked through the door. The last provider I seen in the office who's name I do not know or ever seen before, tells me that they found Methadone in my urine and I said that was impossible. I dontdeven know what Methadone is. I demanded another urine test and he told me No. I will NEVER go back to that office and would NOT RECCOMEND to anyone. Very rude staff. Worst place Ever. Dr. Paul Sutera refused to request a Sign Language Interpreter for me. I gave the secretary the Deaf Brochure explaining how doctors are obligated to provide an interpreter under ADA Law. The secretary spoke to Dr. Sutera and he said he was not going to be able to provide an interpreter at the time. He said I should go see another provider. My insurance only covered Dr. Sutera. The secretary then contacted Dr. Nayer to change me to another doctor since they were not going to provide me with an interpreter. I felt like I was being discriminated against just because I'm deaf and couldn't provide an interpreter. Dr. Paul Sutera refused to request a Sign Language Interpreter for me. Worst Medical office I've ever been too. In 8 months never saw a dr. A pill writer only. Never addresses problem. New injuries brought to her attention disregarded. Given a prescription that my records show I'm allergic too. No care given at all in evaluating new patients. Others in the waiting room saying same thing about care. Giving someone a prescription there allergic to without checking your records. Ended up in hospital. Very judgmental, none caring. Each visit she writes consulted dr,but never leaves the room. False statements saying she did this or that and it wasn't done in office visit notes. Avoid this place if your in pain. 60yrs of Dr's,I've never been to a more none caring inept place in my life. I have waited as long as 4 hours when I have gone to an appointment there. Also, in spite of requiring 48 hours notice prior to picking up your prescription, they often aren't ready. Last month I notified them on Monday that I would be in to pick up my Rx on Friday morning. (They close at noon on Fridays) I arrived on Friday to be told that they didn't have it. I ended up having to sit and wait. In that I came by medical taxi, they had to leave me there. After they finally brought my Rx out, I had to call for another ride home. All together, what should have been a 5 minute in and out turned out to take 2 hours of my time. You do not see Dr. Sutera unless you are having a procedure done such as an epidural. From your first visit on you see his nurse practitioners. They are your providers. But, they all seem to be very nice. Especially Marly, whom I have seen for many, many years. Why do I come here? Because of Marly and the fact that there is but 1 pain management physician in Kingman. The physician in Kingman is rude and disrespectful. I was welcomed by the staff, given very thorough direction and explanation of the entire procedure and treated with professional care and kindness. I would recommend Dr Sutera for any pain management issues highly. The first interview the PA worked to get the best possible coverage with my insurance, and made me feel comfortable with the entire process. The waiting room is rather exciting but not a good example of the interior of the office. I like Dr Sutera. He is a very nice and understanding Dr. His office staff are the rudest people I have dealt with in a professional capacity. When I asked for my discharge letter, they made me look like they were discharging me. They called me non-compliant, rude at all of my appts, etc. They were consistently late when it came to prior authorizations, and sometimes I had to wait 2 hours past my appt time before I was called to the back. They sucked!!!!

This office is lying to patients now about a new Arizona Opioid Law saying they can only write for 2 weeks at a time. Spoke to several other pharmacies and pain clinics and this is not a true fact in any form. One of the patients had a cell phone recording being told this and was advised to send it to the medical board as this type of conduct from a professional office can lead to discipline. Some have been told pharmacies don't want to fill more than 2 weeks, another lie as well.

Patient of Dr. Sutera for over 6 yrs. But for some reason he has stopped doing follow up's for his pain pump patients, as well as no longer even filling patients pumps. I missed my surgery date due to my mother having an accident and he now REFUSES to do the medically needed surgery....!! I now HAVE to see his NP who is rude & unprofessional. I live 70 miles away & can"t always be on time due to weather, road const. or accidents. For which I am made to wait up to 4 hrs. in punishment...!!

The woman dr in his practice was the rudest most unprofessional dr I've ever met. I had a referral from both a spine specialist for my back injuries and from an orpedist for my knees which are bone on bone. She refused to see info regarding my knees and would only discuss my pack. Im in major pain 24/7 and was on dilaudid and she prescribed the least powerful pain reliever, tramadol which does not even touch my pain. I'm hoping to see Dr Sutera next time and will be able to go e a better review

Worst experience I have ever had at a medical facility. The Staff and the PA should be out of work for how they treat ailing patients. They keep you from ever even seeing the doctor, so I have no idea if he has a clue what is going on in that office.

I've been seen at Doctor Suteras office for 15 or so and I won't go anywhere else. I recently was seen on April 21 by a newly hired NP. I've never been treated so rudely and I make sure not to see this woman for any follow up appointments. I was her last patient and she couldn't wait to get outta there. Just rude I hope she gets fired, her bedside manner really stinks!!!!!
