About Paul K Ritchie
Reviews for Paul K Ritchie
I wrecked my car many years ago, breaking my leg and consequently have a lot of residual knee issues. Dr Ritchie has done a great job with my knee and fixing issues as they arise. He has listened when I felt like I needed another scope to clean out scar tissue and didn't make me go through unnecessary hoops. He has made sure to take good care of me on the operation table and I will continue to use him for further knee issues. Dr Ritchie did an excellent job on my shoulder. I was so impressed with his bedside manner, I’m healing ahead of schedule and will be able to return to my active lifestyle. I highly recommend him to anyone considering shoulder surgery. J W
When my son broke his leg badly, we were told it would almost certainly need surgery. At our first visit, Dr. Ritchie popped in for a few seconds, said it looked great and told his PA to cast it. Because we were nervous about the differing conclusions, Dr. Ritchie said he would get a second opinion from Dr. Klatt with the Primary Children's fracture clinic. There were 2 sets of xrays, one from the ER and one from the Dr. Ritchie's office. Somehow, Dr. Klatt and the fracture clinic only reviewed the ER xrays and called for an emergency surgery at Primary Children's Hospital. I kept asking why one doctor's decision (the bone was fine and could be put in a cast) and Dr Klatt's was so different. Every single person brushed us off and continued to railroad us toward the surgery. While waiting for the surgery, we realized that all these decisions had been made on incomplete information. Dr. Ritchie's office didn't provide the second xrays to Dr. Klatt or Primary Childrens. They put my son under general anesthesia to take more xrays and realized they had made a mistake. The excuse they made was 'X-ray machines at different providers don't "talk to each other", so they couldn't access updated information'. We are still on the hook for payment for the entire thing. I feel like everyone we dealt with was arrogant and dismissive (except Ritchie's PA, who did his best). Do not EVER ask for a second opinion without having every X-ray ever taken printed out and with you the entire time. I've already told all my family and friends Dr. Ritchie is the best! Thank you! Your staff as well!
Dr. Ritchie performed ACL surgery on my sons completely torn ACL. The surgery went well and his recovery has been great. Dr. Ritchie is in high demand because he does a great job. I will continue to use Dr. Ritchie.
This is the second surgery with Dr. Ritchie on first one then the other shoulder. His level of knowledge and his ability to put you at ease for me are indispensable. I wouldn’t go to anyone else and he was recommended by many people that I trusted. I’m so glad I listened and went to Dr. Ritchie. My shoulder is on the mend and the one he fixed years ago is amazing. I highly recommend him for your surgery and any other problem. Zero stars. Go elsewhere if you value your time and health
If I could do 0 stars I would. Save you time and money and go elsewhere! I have already told all of my friends and family NOT to see Dr. Ritchie. Surgery was rescheduled due to a conference then he couldn't even bother to show the day of the rescheduled surgery and had someone else break the news that surgery was cancelled.
I just saw Dr Ritchies pa she was very nice and explained everything real good and is up front and gets to the point I feel better now I'm in good hands

Dr. Ritchie has now repaired both of my shoulders. Reattached front and back ligaments to the bone on one and repaired a torn labrum on the other. He did an excellent job with both surgeries. Dr. Ritchie is not only an outstanding orthopedic surgeon, but a genuinely outstanding man. Very impressed on all counts. His character/integrity is as important to me as his skills as a physician. Takes the time necessary to explain things and sincerely cares about his patients..

Personally, I think Dr. Ritchie is great. The office staff is horrible. The receptionist hung up on me when trying to leave a message for the MA Suzanne. Suzanne NEVER calls back. it seems the only way to get help is to go into the office or make another appointment. The wait for appointments is at least an hour. You're not a person here, just another number.

Fantastic Dr and Surgeon. He has repaired both of my shoulders and I'm very pleased.
Dr Ritchie repaired my badly torn labrum. He did an excellent job, had good follow up and was friendly. I always recommend him to people with arm problems.
Very friendly. I don't feel rushed when asking questions and his answers are comprehensive and easy to understand. He seems totally up on the latest for issues in his profession. He shared with me the least expensive way to go and his work is top quality. He is well known in the community and I have not heard one negative or even questionable comment about him. The only concern is that when calling his assistant for questions I always go straight to voice mail and she is very slow to respond.

Dr. Ritchie is great, however his staff and office is horrible. I left multiple messages with Suzanne, his medical assistant and they either go in a black hole or are completely ignored. Also they told me they don't always get messages left with their after hours phone service. That is inexcusable to me. I finally asked the receptionist for help since I never heard from Suzanne and she did help resolve the issue but sounded totally annoyed. I felt really helpless after surgery.

He spent over an hour with me, explaining in detail what was going on in the MRI of my shoulder and how I could explain it to my wife. :) He is extremely personable and friendly, the kind of person you cold have lunch with. In the end, he admitted that mine was a special case and needed to be referred to another doctor. When I met the other doctor he said that Dr. Ritchie had spoken to him the previous week at a conference about my case. How cool that he would remember me and follow up like that
