Dr. Opsaul is great! He has been my primary doctor for several years , and he has given me great treatment and advice.

I totally disagree with the negative comments on here about the Dr, I have been going here for 2 years and my husband as well. We have had the best care from Doc and Kristen and all the staff has went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our visit. I love this office, I can always get in, and staff is awesome!!!

Dr. Opsahl has been my primary care doctor for about 30 yrs. I trust him completely. I love his staff.

DR OFFICE IS DISGUSTINGLY RUDE OFFICE MANAGER RENEE IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL !!! THEY HANG UP ON YOU AND CURSE !!!!! WOW CANT BELIEVE THIS A DR OFFICE ! WHAT A DISGRACE

I love my Dr and they have a new group of staff members, they are all very sweet and helpful. Wouldn't go any where else!!

Terrible!! Dr Opsahl sent an offensive email to my wife when she was trying to get some urgent follow-up information from him regarding a medical condition that he was supposed to be helping her with ("I am concerned about your ventilating your frustrations the other day, with our front desk staff. You MUST find a way to be more patient when your expectations are not met"). Also, he has misdiagnosed me on several occasions during the last couple of years. We had been with Dr Opsahl from 1989 until 2016, but his recent marked complacency and that of some of his staff have regretfully caused us to leave Waynesville Health Care. The final straw was when Dr Opsahl was rude to my wife, and when in a matter of fact way he suggested surgery for a medical condition with which I was struggling. My new doctor immediately knew how to treat my condition without surgery. There was a small window of time when we would have been receptive to returning to Waynesville Health Care, but neither Dr Opsahl nor Renee Wallace bothered to contact us to address our concerns. This just confirmed our suspicion that they did not really care about us. My hope is that this critical review will motivate Dr Opsahl to overhaul Waynesville Health Care so that patients like us do not need to leave his practice in order to receive friendly, competent treatment that exceeds our expectations. My dealings with the Site Supervisor Renee Wallace left a lot to be desired and she is most likely part of the problem. She covered up a blatant lie that came from a member of the front office staff. The last time that both of us really felt welcome at Waynesville Health Care was when Dr Opsahl's wife Tracy worked there... ...(Several months later)...Regarding the owner's comment below...The owner made no attempt to proactively contact us during the timeframe when we were patients there with the above issues and when we left the practice. Very concerned staff . They take their time with you and do the research that it takes to find out what the problem is. And they take the time to go over all your records to get a better understanding of your past conditions. I am very pleased with them all.

Dr Schwieterman is great she is super kind and figures things out. This is my first family doctor, she takes her time and doesnt rush, there is never a wait and the staff is great, I plan on keeping my family with her for years to come. 5 stars.

Saw Kristen, the Nurse Practitioner , this week for a new patient appointment. I couldn't have been happier with my visit. She was thorough, friendly and knowledgeable. Kristen answered all of my questions and helped me with a plan to catch up on some preventative care. I am thankful that I found her.

I have seen Opsahl my entire life and am now taking my son there. He is a fantastic doctor who really listens to your symptoms rather than just throwing a prescription at you. Some people do not like that and think there is a pill to fix for every condition- but that is just not true. When he doesn't know what is wrong with someone he will send them to a specialist- no one person can know it all. He caught my ganglioneuroma when I was 4- shingles when I was 12- and my gallbladder when I was 24. ALL atypical for their age group. I cannot believe some of the reviews I read on here because I will never see another doctor as long as he is practicing. The office staff is very friendly and I have never had trouble getting an appointment. I have seen Opsahl my entire life and am now taking my son there. Opsahl has taken care of my entire family for years now. He’s great! Kristen is great also! Both are very caring & actually talk to you, not rushing you.

He doesn’t have a grasp of hormonal imbalances which is a major factor for women. I have switched to his NP Kristen who is so much better. Definitely encourage women to see Kristen instead.

I’ve been seeing opsahl for years butwent for a 2nd opinion when i had doubts with his diagnosis. this doctor said he knew of many patients who opsahl had wrongly diagnosed. Now looking for another doc in the Waynesville area

The whole office experience is so depressing. It just seems like nobody seems to know what’s going on and the doctor doesn’t really care nor offers follow-up

Completely clueless!Needs to work on his medical knowledge.If he’s not sure then order some test! Don’t just say it’s probably a virus.

I wish he wouldn’t keep typing on his laptop during appointments. I find it off putting. He should be concentrating on me.

Dr Opsahl doesn't understand women's medical issues. I've expressed this before, but reading the previous review just confirms this. He really needs to go back to school to learn modern treatment techniques. Just offering his opinion without any testing is unacceptable.

Dr. Opsahl "diagnosed" me with post partum depression after I made a visit to see him because I was feeling absolutely terrible. After utilizing no screening tool for PPD nor doing any testing he told me that it would pass and "get out of the house more." My baby was five months old and I was ecstatic to have him, just felt miserable. Two weeks later another doctor diagnosed me with severe hypothyroidism and anemia, both through appropriate testing. His misdiagnosis are dangerous/irresponsible.

I went to Waynesville Healthcare for treatment of oral thrush, caused by meds I take for lung disease. I saw a CNP who checked my mouth, and with a disgusted look on her face she told me I was not brushing my tongue! I told her I'd been brushing my tongue since 1969 and had thrush. The CNP said it was not thrush, it was a dirty tongue! She spent 10minutes lecturing on how to brush my tongue and sent me home. I then developed a severe ear infection which ruptured my eardrum, ending up at an EarNose&Throat specialists office. I was diagnosed with severe THRUSH and treated, and the specialist said the CNP at Waynesville "should have known better", and if I had been properly treated at WaynesvilleHealthcare I would not have gotten the ear infection. The office staff have sour grumpy looks on their faces and act like they hate their jobs. I recommend avoiding the place. Opsahl should NEVER be suggesting surgery, but should defer to a specialist. I was nearly caught out by this.

I read the negative reviews on Opsahl with interest. Opsahl just treats the symptoms of my illness and doesn't try to find the cause. I guess I should get a second opinion. Isn't there any oversight of him?

Read the bad Opsahl reviews and totally agree and think he needs a refresher ASAP

I went to Waynesville Health Care last year for a blood test in their lab prior to a wellness exam the following week. The medical assistant was unable to insert the needle into a vein and after several attempts left the lab and did not return! Another medical assistant completed the blood draw, but left severe bruising on my arm that took a week to go away. I would suggest that Waynesville Health Care ensure that their caregivers are properly trained before being allowed to work with patients.

My oral thrush was wrongly misdiagnosed as just me having a "dirty tongue". I was lectured on how to brush my tongue, and treated poorly. I developed complications from thrush, my eardrum ruptured, and finally got proper treatment from an EarNose&Throat specialist who told me that WaynesvilleHealthcare's CNP "should have known better".
