Always tries to bill yearly routine eye exam to my medical insurance when it clearly is not a medical appointment. When signing the form to tell them NOT to bill my medical was told the regular exam is not as thorough as a medical exam. Very disappointed to hear that. Your doctor should exam you the same regardless of who ever is paying. Very disappointed.

Saw Dr. Ives for several years from teenage years to early college. I am nearsighted (-1.50 in both eyes) with mild astigmatism. Somehow he would give me stronger prescription each year in my left eye, to the point it was double the required strength! I would tell him I couldn't see the charts, but he claimed it was because I had very bad astigmatism in that eye and its as good as it would ever get. They use no technology to check for this! Rather than starting an vision test from scratch, he would put in my last prescription and start the eye test from there, making it worse each time. I had to believe him since he was the doctor and what do I know? Anyway, I ended up seeing a real clinic and the technicians did a way better job than he ever did. He also told me I'm not a candidate for Lasik, but I'm getting the surgery in a few weeks. I'm only writing this review since I can't wear contacts before the surgery so I'm forced to wear the terrible glasses he prescribed.
