Dr. Paul Grin

Dr. Paul Grin has changed my life! I have been grinding my teeth since I have been about 5 years old. At some point I also picked up clinching during the daytime. I’ve suffered from migraines, neck, shoulder and excruciating jaw pain. After my initial appointment he recommended day and night oral appliance’s along with muscle relaxers. Since receiving my appliance, I have not awaken to pain in my jaw. Dr. Grin also recommended a newer migraine medicine that works better than my previous medication. My life is so much better! Before seeing Dr. Grin I couldn’t even eat a salad without being in pain. I’m so thankful to him and his staff. Thanks again Dr. Grin❤️

I was suffering from intense pain following a bout with shingles affecting my facial nerves. My primary MD recommended Dr. Paul Grin. I visited Dr. Grin and he did a very careful evaluation. He recommended medication that resolved my pain. I should also say that it is a refreshing delight to work with Dr. Grin's staff. They actually answer the phone. Are always friendly and helpful. I had a pain in my jaw that was indescribable from a very young age. I never addressed it because it was not frequent enough to interfere with my life. It would only happen once every four months. However, in the past 3 years my headaches became 4-5x a week and this pain would come several times a week. I was so frustrated and was referred to Dr. Grin by the dentist that is part of the St Johns Cleft Clinic in Santa Monica. I had a cleft lip/palate and have had jaw surgery so I always assumed it was associated. Anyways, I was so impressed with Dr. Grins assessment and treatment plan. I had been experiencing jaw pain as I have a history of TMJ. Dr. Grin and his phenomenal team were able to sooth the pain. Then when I expressed that my wife was complaining about my snoring (lol), they opted for me to do a sleep test for apnea. The test showed that I did have a minor case of apnea. I came to Dr. Grin with terrible jaw, head and face pain. Before seeing him I had gone to see ENTs, my primary care doctor and my dentist. After lots of tests and medications that didn’t solve the problem I was referred to Dr Grin and am so happy I was! Dr Grin and his staff are very professional. My long term untreated TMJ / arthritis in my jaw has cause my jaw to be out of line and Dr Grin has created a mouth guard that I wear at night that has helped tremendously and is helping to get my jaw back back in line.

Dr. Grin is the only doctor that has helped me with my face pain. He is caring, thorough and easy to talk to. If you are having pain or sleep trouble, he is absolutely the best!

I've been a patient of Dr. Grin's for several years. I started seeing him with jaw pain and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the jaw. He was able to help me manage the pain with an oral appliance, easy exercises, and moist heat for many years. Last year, my jaw pain returned and a CAT-scan showed that my OA had progressed. I opted to try to the PRP (platelet-rich plasma) which was outpatient in Dr. Grin's office. While it was pricey and was not covered by insurance, I had great success with it. Nine months after the procedure, my most recent CAT scan showed that the OA progression had stopped. The bone had stabilized and is not causing me any issues. Dr. Grin is very kind and patient. I was suffering from TMJ for a year before I booked my appt w/ Dr Grin. I could barely chew any food on my left side and was easily exhausted from eating meat or nuts because of the jaw pain. When I arrived for my initial appt with Dr Grin, I was blown away by how much he KNEW ABOUT ME! He had studied my extensive paperwork and was organized and efficient during the session. He provided answers and took xrays which revealed that I had extensive arthritis of my left jaw. He then made me a mouth guard and provided me a small dose of a safe muscle relaxer. Within one month of use, my jaw pain went from an 8 down to a 4 and steadily improved with using the mouth guard. I started having TMJ issues 2 years ago but it worsened during the pandemic. After no helpful advice or resources from my dentist, a doctor on TeleHealth suggested I look for an ENT who specialized in TMJ and I found Dr. Grin's office. My consultation was efficient and thorough and soon after in my follow-up, I received a diagnosis and a treatment plan. I have since had several appointments for hardware, fitting, and a check-in, which has shown my treatment to be very effective. For anyone who has gotten a bite guard/night guard for clenching or grinding their teeth from their dentist please consider an appointment with Dr. Grin, he made a device for my lower jaw, that is like a bit guard. It has reduced my neck and shoulder pain by half. His staff is very helpful also.

I initially went to Dr. Grin because the orofacial dentist I had seen for years retired and recommended Dr. Grin to his patients. I found Dr. Grin very knowledgeable and extremely competent. He listened to my concerns and offered effective solutions, including a new “snore guard” which he designed to inhibit my snoring and mild sleep apnea without exacerbating my TMJ problems. His nurses and office staff are kind, efficient, and professional. Over the course of a year, I was in the office six times, and every time I was the only patient in the office. I have been suffering with tinnitus for the past 6 years. I wear a special hearing aide that has helped but the ringing in my ears is constant. In the last six years I have tried everything, acupuncture, hypnosis, cognitive behavior therapy, ENT, psychiatrist, CBD, and other meds. Until now the only thing that was given me any relief has been my widex hearing aid that generates sounds that mimic my tinnitus. I had the worst experience with Dr Grin. He treated me of arthritis for almost a year with no other test than x-rays. He put me couple steroid injections in my jaw. After them. He said this is going bad. His treatment basically destroyed my join. (This is a fact if you read about the effect of them in a small join like the jaw) Since then I have lived a nightmare. I live in Palm Springs, so just going to see him is three hours in and 3 back but he supposedly is the only specialist close by. I filled out the 17 page new patient package except for the arbitration agreement, I have had two experiences with this legal forum they were less than satisfactory. The office lady said I needed to sign two pages one was for advance directive(which I don’t have) so she struck out the body and had me sign the blank page and the other was the agreement, which I told them I don’t want arbitration, she said I still needed to sign it so I said I will note that I was ordered to sign it. Another lady came out to the waiting room and said I can sign it unconditionally or leave so I left. Then on the way home some Harley rider tried to spilt the lane between me and a flat bed truck. When I heard the collision I saw what was happening so I gave him room and he, thankfully didn’t go down or he’d be no longer with us. He failed to clear the gap but when I gave him room so as not to crush him, he accelerated and that was all I saw of him. Called CHP they took a report and didn’t give me any hope of finding the hit and run rider. Lots of minor scratches a couple went deep, also there some black marks probably from the hand grip. Who knows a good body shop? Now I get to go play phone tag with the insurance company and fight to get this repaired because you know how forthcoming they are when they have to pay us back a small portion of the gobs of money I have given them. No, really, what do you get back after years of paying premiums? Nothing and then you got fight with them when you need help. That sort of service sucks and shouldn’t be allowed. Dr. Grin was able to provide a cure for my snoring as CPAP had difficulties. With the dental appliance, my snoring index went from 41 (severe) to 2.7. I have more energy and would recommend him to others.

Dr. Grin's office and staff are using excellent Covid protocols and are exceptionally kind and courteous. When I started treatment my bite was so misaligned my teeth only contacted in one spot and I had occasional pain. I'm happy to say that after a relatively short treatment my bite is back to normal and the pain is gone!

My daughter saw Dr. Grin for a TMJ issue in 2019, and she was very My My daughter saw Dr. Grin for a TMJ issue in 2019, and she was very happy with him. He helped her immensely and solved her TMJ problem. My daughter suggested that I see Dr. Grin because I needed to be treated for sleep apnea and snoring. I work in Orange County, and Dr. Grin's staff was very accommodating in setting up appointments that fit my schedule. He did a complete exam that included a sleep study, and he was able to identify my issues immediately. I tried CPAP in the past, and could not adapt to it, so he fitted me for a new and different appliance that worked. He made adjustments that helped improve my breathing, reduce my snoring, and helped to reduce my sleep apnea to a mild level. Dr. Grin is patient, has a very good staff, and has been able to resolve my sleep apnea issues. There is still more work to be done to completely resolve my snoring and sleep apnea, and I am glad that Dr. Grin will be helping me. Dr Grin absolutely deserves 5 stars for his intellect and compassion . I went to him with splitting headaches and jaw pain. However, last summer I had a river rafting accident that caused my jaw to get dislocated. In a short time, they were able to identify exactly what was wrong and administer a medical regiment for pain relief.
