Dr. Paul E Finley

I've been seeing Dr. Finley for about 3 years. He is always friendly, always takes time to explain what is going on and what choices are available. He is sometimes running late but that's because he takes his time with each patient. My treatment has been going very well and I would recommend him to others who have macular degeneration.

The whole team are so professional, from the time I walked in to check in with the receptionist to the assistant to Dr. Finley. They always make me feel welcome and comfortable. Dr. Finley always answers all my questions. I will highly recommend the office to everyone.

I was referred to Dr.Finley for eye surgery. Having met with him I found Dr. Finley very thorough, listened well and very respectful. I didn’t feel rushed during the appointment, answering any questions. I felt his approach was most focused on the care and wellbeing of my eye health. He was very precise throughout my time with him and I felt that I was truly in the best of hands. I highly recommend him. Also, I thoroughly enjoy his sense of humor!

Dr Finley is very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and explains things very well, and, he’s personable! His staff is all very friendly. Barbara was great; friendly & knowledgeable as well.

The last visit was to review my cataract surgery and to check my diabetes.

I did have to wait a bit before the Dr. finally got in to see me but I heard him being very thorough and caring with an adjacent patient so that didn't bother me. He was quick to diagnose my eye problem and to tell me what I needed to do to prevent it happening again. I really appreciated that!

First time patient at Hillsboro Eye Clinic, Dr Finley was great. He was attentive, very kind and answered all my questions. The staff was great as well. I'll definitely be going back.

Dr Finley is an excellent eye doctor! He is honest and understanding of your needs! Dr Finley did surgery on my eyes and spoke to me through them both and eased me throughout the procedure!

I was way overdue in getting my eyes checked. Dr. Finley was thorough in the exam and explaining the results. He is easy to talk to and does not hide behind jargon.

His exam and recommendation literally saved my life. I followed his instructions and now I have options regarding my health.

My appointment was at a busy day and time, but Dr. Finley and his staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed, listened and responded to my concerns and explained the next steps and options for care thoroughly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Finley's for a long time. He provides excellent care, is very personable, and caring. I live about 10 miles from Dr. Finley's office and I could find another ophthalmologist closer to me, but I wouldn't dream of going to another office. It just wouldn't be the same. Thank you.

Dr. Finley got me in immediately for lose eyelash caught in tear duct. Quickly took care of me. Was gracious and informative.

Dr Finley did an excellent job with my eye surgery. He explained things fully and completely and everything went as he explained it would. I'm very happy with my results and wouldn't hesitate to have him operate on me or my family or friends. He's an excellent survey and has a great bedside manner

Follow-up visit on initial treatment plan. Dr. Finley was quick and thorough, explained his assessment and my options clearly.

Good doc that cares about his patients

Very thorough exam (found an issue I did not know I had), after being a patient for 20+ years. Totally professional and personable. Whole office is busy, but run well.

Dr Finley is awesome to work with. He is caring and honest. He has always done the best for my eyes. I really appreciate his work.

Dr Finley is a remarkable proffessional with patience and understanding! He's the BEST eye doctor I have ever encountered.

Love my eye doctor, he is caring, thorough, informative and just a nice person. He was the first eye doctor to find an eye condition that could be very bad for me if not monitored closely. I trust him completely with my eye care. The staff in the office he works in is very efficient and caring. Love my eye doctor he is caring, thorough, personable, & very informative. If it wasn't for his thoroughness I could possibly have lost the sight in my right eye by now. He keeps a close watch on my condition which can be corrected but only when it gets to a certain point. He lets you know all your options and explains everything in detail. You can't go wrong picking him for all your eye care.

Dr. Finley is an amazing ophthalmologist. My vision was completely restored after my cataract surgery, with no need for glasses. I've had several other procedures and he explains them so they are easily understood and he is always very reassuring. I appreciate the time he takes with me.

Saw Dr. Finley yesterday for my post-op exam following cataract surgery on my right eye. I was able to read 20/20 already. I was amazed to say the least after having been legally blind and would put my hand to my face to show how near sighted and focus on the lines on my hand.

Dr. Finley is excellent. I had been told for thirty eight years by other doctors that my eye injury was untreatable. Dr. Finley told me he could help. He Planned and performed surgery that restored my vision in the traumatized eye. There are no words to describe the gratitude I have for Dr. Paul Finley. For me his treatment was and is truly a life changing experience.

Very pleased I have 20/20 vision now

Dr Finley was extremely kind and listened to everything I had to say about my previous care from my long time Dr in Pendleton. The entire office staff was very nice and made the visit pleasant and comfortable.

I’ve been a patient of his for as long as he’s been a member of the practice, and have always found him to be a caring, capable doc.

Doctor finely is the best doctor, he is so kind and caring to my children, all staff were amazing!! I can truly say I would recommend this clinic!

Dr. Finley was very busy but reviewed my visions history and examined my eyes. He identified an issue that I had and suggested a treatment for one month, then correctly identified my need for cataract surgery. He previously treated my husband for this,: very successfully. Dr. Finley is experienced, caring and skilled in his profession.

Dr. Finley is the best! He is thorough and expedient, and you truly know you are receiving the best care. His chair side manner is respectful and direct, and he responds to questions and concerns with compassion.

Dr. Finley is very experienced and my exam went quickly. He is also very personable and we jokingly chatted about hating to wear those masks (we're in the Covid 19 pandemic), and we both complained about needing a haircut!

I really like Dr. Finley. He has a nice loud voice and is really an expert on eyes. I trust him and he has never pushed me to have a procedure done right away.

I don't think doctors should be rated like employees at other businesses requiring a small amount of training and education, when they have put in years at medical school. Because I worked for the state and heard constant complaining (even when the recipients had free medical services), I will be happy to give all our Oregon docs and other medical employees five stars. State employees in my department appreciated all you do! :)

Dr. Finley is without question a man of integrity and intimate knowledge of his profession. He is the consummate pro.

Dr. Finley is awesome, thorough and explains eye related issues in terms we can easily understand. Because he is so competent he examined my husband's eye, saw his torn retina and immediately called a retina surgeon that performed a complex eye surgery on my husband the very next day. My optician referred me to Dr. Finley for a glaucoma evaluation due to high eye pressures. Dr. Finley did a more sophisticated pressure test than my optician was able to do and found that my pressures were ok. He correctly diagnosed the real reason for my vision loss which was not glaucoma at all then he took a lot of time to explain to me the cause of my vision loss and what evidence supported the diagnosis. We also discussed what kind of progression I might expect. He gave very technical yet understandable explanations and answered my questions along the way, so it was more of a discussion not a lecture. As I was leaving he requested me to sign a release so he could get some additional information from my optician. When he got the information it confirmed he made the correct diagnosis. He personally called me to tell me the news and was very willing to spend time answering my questions and discussing my concerns. My personal impression of Dr. Finley is a smart and caring professional and I highly recommend him if you are having vision problems.

I was referred to Dr. Finley by my optometrist due to vision loss in one eye. Dr. Finley did a thorough exam which isn't easy since I am very funny about things in my eye. He was very accommodating - allowed me to put the drops in the corner of my eye, talked me thru the blue light exam, etc. Afterward he took quite a bit of time to explain the cause of my vision loss and answered all of my many questions with great patience. Looked at me, not the computer. Highly recommend.

The few available reviews a/b Dr. Finley were positive, so I thought I would try him . Perhaps he is a good surgeon ( I cannot report on that ) ,perhaps he has a great bedside manner ( I did not experience that either ) . I would never recommend this doctor because I found him to be arrogant & condescending.He sauntered in , 30 minutes late , moving towards the computer,never looking at me or shaking my hand . When I asked if he always made his patients wait that long , he spun around & told me to ' get used to it' because that is' how it works around here'. It was quite apparent he was annoyed with my question. I was quite astonished at his rudeness . He then began to lecture me about my eyelid-stye in a tone I would describe as condescending . I was to fly out of country a week later & did not appreciate him wasting my time. It might have been different had he apologized for his tardiness , but that did not happen ,nor did he give any relief , hope or good information . Instead ,he told me there was 'nothing that could be done' until my return 5 weeks later & that I needed a procedure that would be 'extremely uncomfortable' & I would most likely ' hate him for performing it'. I did not have the time to inform him that ' hating him ' was already a fact & that he was fired .As I left, I determined I would post my first doctor review after returning from my vacation , but w/only a week before departure I scurried to find some relief. I visited my naturopath, who gave me good info & remedies to try . One week later my problem was gone ! I had a great vacation & my eye was healed . I highly recommend Dr. Mia Potter ( what a gem & a genius !) . I do not recommend Dr. Finley . I will also mention that when I returned ,5 weeks later,there were 2 letters from his office threatening me w/ collectors if I did not pay the $35.00 co- pay ,which they did not ask for at the time .A week later there was a 3rd warning .Honestly,I have never experienced quite like this . I paid the co-pay ,of course....but decided to let this rude doctor wait a bit first. I told him 'get used to waiting ....that is how it works around here' .
