Dr. Paul David Costas

Before meeting Dr. Costas I was unsure if I'd go through with my breast reduction. Other doctors I had consults with made me nervous about the process. Dr. Costas was reassuring, knowledgeable, confident, and took his time to answer my questions and explain things. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and I could not be happier. Everyone involved in the procedure was attentive and caring; it was the best case scenario. In my opinion, Dr. Costas is an expert at what he does. The results are truly amazing. I am healing well and my only regret is that I didn't do it 10 years ago.

"Kind and caring" describes everyone I encountered from a time 7 months ago when I first called the office for an appointment to today, at 1 month follow up. I was so glad to hear of a friend's happiness at having a breast reduction with Dr. Costas that I called for a consultation for the same plus tummy tuck. Things went so smoothly and the office was great at helping me out with everything from pre-op administrative work to questions and phone calls I had after the surgery. I am far from healed yet, but I am so happy so far, and trust that his being pleased with the results means I'll be considered a success in a couple of months both from a doctor's and patient's viewpoint!

After encountering a recent facelift patient of Dr. Costas in 2006 I was so impressed that I made a consultation appointment with him. I was immediately impressed with his manner and his knowledge of an esteemed cosmetic surgeon in CA that I had seen. Since then I have trusted Dr. Costas with a variety of surgical issues and have always been very happy with the results. He has been available 24/7. I cannot recommend highly enough the talent, excellence, compassion, and professionalism of Dr. Costas and his office.

Dr Costas forever improved our teenager's life. Having the wrong body for who you are is a daily, horrible experience. Imagine growing the wrong private parts tomorrow. How would you feel? Would it be easy to get through your day, feel grounded and well, and contribute to the world in a connected and positive way? Dr. Costas understands this. Despite the anti-trans hate and rhetoric that poison our culture, there are people like Dr Costas who understand the true importance of listening to the individual and believing that they best know who they are. Our non-binary teenager and I visited five other surgeons before finally, with great relief and joy, finding one who listened, understood, and did a perfect job. Our teen is now more themself, and for the first time, they smile when they look in the mirror. Now they can move on to contributing their talents in our troubled world. Less hate, more listening. Dr.Costas changed my life. As a transgender man I had been binding and waiting for top surgery for 13+ years, thinking it would never happen. Not only Dr.Costas but he’s entire team is welcoming, caring, knowledgeable and committed to his patients. My results came out better than I could have ever dreamed of. I finally feel like I can look in the mirror and recognize the person staring back at me. The entire process from initial contact to post-op appointments has been easy and smooth. Dr.Costas not only cares about giving his patients the best results possible, he cares deeply about his patients and what they need and desire to be their most authentic self. My surgery went great, Dr Costas really is a great surgeon and I am really happy with my results. I got double incision top surgery with nipple grafts. Grafts are healing well with good size and position, and I have no dog ears due his use of liposuction. Incisions are pretty good looking. His team (especially Jane Cotter) are all amazing and super helpful, as well as all the staff at Emmerson Hospital I encountered while recovering. Dr. Costas is friendly, although he's not exempt to the stereotype of a plastic surgeon's arrogance. Also you need to buy everything yourself for recovery, he provides you with an ace bandage for compression but I really recommend an actual binder. I did not have tape on my incisions (this might have been due to a possible adhesive allergy, although paper tape was tested and was fine for me), and was not provided dressings for my nipples, which I know are common for other surgeons to provide at the one week post op appointment.

Highly recommend Dr Costas!! Immediately upon meeting him I knew he was the one I wanted to do my breast reduction and tummy tuck. I’d seen several doctors prior that I did not feel comfortable with. He was very upfront, honest and easy to talk to. I was completely comfortable going into surgery and so happy with the care I got post-surgery. Dr Costas and his amazing staff were there to answer any questions throughout. They were flexible and accommodating with scheduling appointments. I live on the south shore and he was well worth the hour drive! So happy with my results! Wonderful doctor!

Dr. Paul Costas is an incredible surgeon, and has changed my life for the better. He has a great bedside manner, and will answer all your questions. His staff is very friendly, and very quick with all paperwork. I felt very comfortable going into surgery, knowing I was in good hands.

Dr. Costas did my son's rhinoplasty five years ago and my daughter's breast reduction this year. Both of them are thrilled with the results. Dr. Costas did an excellent job and is kind and affirming. Realistic about what is possible, doesn't overpromise but does beautiful work. I called him twice after hours with questions about wound care and he responded immediately and with patience. We found his office staff to be similarly kind and helpful. Definitely recommend.

I had an abdominoplasty with Dr. Costas and have never loved a surgeon more! He has been absolutely incredible answering every question along the way, even when I was worried about this or that he was always there with answers. He speaks to you as an equal and I appreciate that so much, there is nothing more uncomfortable than feeling like your doctor is condescending or judging you-that doesn't happen here! I visited Dr.Costas at Concord Plastic Surgery in Emerson hospital for a top surgery procedure. I cannot say enough good things about Dr.Costas and his staff. On the actual day of the procedure the hospital staff was extremely understanding to all my allergies and worked with me with ease. The hospital staff and nurses had a fantastic bedside manner and I did not once feel unsafe or uncomfortable with any of them on the day of my surgery. The staff at his office are extremely friendly, professional and kind to work with. They all make sure you feel welcomed in the office and work with you kindly. Dr.Costas has a fantastic bedside manner. He makes sure that you are comfortable with the procedure and its results. He works with you to make sure get what you want for results. Super kind, funny and great surgeon. Would highly recommend.

I absolutely love Dr. Costas!!! I had my scar revision today (from previous breast reduction surgery with different surgeon), and I’m SO excited for the bandages to come off. Dr. Costas is kind, gentle, understanding, a perfectionist (in a good way), and EXTREMELY thorough and knowledgeable. Bedside manner is a 10/10, made me feel like the only patient of the day and ensured that I understood what was going on without speaking down to me or rushing like some doctors have a tendency to do. Never did I ever think I would have the figure I have. After losing 150 pounds I had a significant amount of loose skin. I am 2 months post op. breast reduction, lift and liposuction. I was back to work on the third week! My surgery was booked after a cancellation, one week after my consultation! Dr. Costas did not use drains, which I believe had a profound effect on my recovery time and quality! My scars have already faded and my back, neck and shoulder pain are gone! I decided after a suspicious spot was found on my mammogram to finally have breast reduction surgery, and I am so happy I did! I wish I had sooner!

Got a rhinoplasty/septoplasty done six months ago after a broken nose and my nose is still crooked after the surgery. It’s as if nothing was operated on it. Thousands of dollars of money wasted. When I went back in a few weeks ago for the check up, I waited over 30 minutes past my appointment for the Dr to come into the office and look at me for 5 minutes and said we can try again in a few months. And just got a 95$ “office visit” bill for that 5 minute walk in where nothing was even done.

Dr Costas did a wonderful job reconstructing my left breast after a lumpectomy due to cancer. All our office visits went very well, we got all our questions answered, some before we even asked them. And believe him when he tells you that there is very little pain after the surgery. Dr Costas is a delight to deal with, both he and the office staff has been caring and accommodating throughout this procedure. I expect to go back in the fall for reconstruction of my right breast.

Great doctor. A pleasure to see, despite the fact I saw him for a double mastectomy. Caring, good sense of humor, great office staff. Did an excellent reconstruction job. No unattractive scars. Natural looking results.

Dr. Paul Costas is an excellent plastic surgeon. He reconstructed my breast after breast cancer and recently performed surgery on the opposite breast to achieve symmetry with the reconstructed breast. Dr. Costas is professional, calm and kind. He is clear in his communications and answers all your questions. It’s been 4 weeks since my last surgery, and I feel great. I heartily recommend Dr. Paul Costas. I also need to mention his very kind & efficient office staff.

I love Dr Costas...right from my first meeting with him. I'd been seen by a different surgeon initially, but due to some issues, I felt it best to seek out a new surgeon. I really didn't do much research, but looked for a surgeon closer to home. Dr Costas' name came up and when I went for my first consultation, I was not disappointed. He spoke at great length about the procedure and what to expect, and really at that point, I didn't have any questions left.. I am truly happy with my results.

I saw Dr. Costas in 2017 for a breast reduction (back/neck pain) and a tummy tuck (vanity). He was available, pleasant, professional and very competent. When I had possible complications after surgery in hospital, he came to the hospital on the weekend in a snowstorm, ordered tests and a specialist right away. He is very busy for a reason! He and his office are very helpful and I happily (and often) recommend them.

I had bilateral breast reconstruction after many years of wearing prosthetics by Dr. Costos. I feel like Dr. Costos has given me my life back. I am so much more confident that I look normal, and even attractive. He is truly a miracle worker, and I highly recommend him. I needed to have a fairly large benign cyst removed from my underarm. Dr. Costas performed the surgery in-suite with a surgical nurse. Both Dr. Costas and the nurse have terrific bedside manners. The nurse was caring and calming. Dr. Costas is quietly witty, easy to talk to and explained the procedure in easy to understand language. The recovery period went just as Dr. Costas described it would. I highly recommend him.
