Dr. Buzhardt and his staff are the BEST! My husband had a total hip replacement almost 3 weeks ago. There were lots of complications and this doctor did an amazing job! My husband has felt better right after surgery than he has since he was a child.

I'm two weeks out of my 2nd total hip replacement surgery (had the right side done on 6/10/2020) and I would have to say it's amazing. Sure there is some surgery pain but the pain I was in before seems to have just vanished. At two weeks out I've already reduce pain meds and I'm walking with a cane. All indications tells me that this surgery was successful and needed. Thanks to the excellent Staff of Dr. Buzhardt and the entire staff at the hospital. Dr. Buzhardt is an excellent surgeon. He is very knowledgeable, and talented. He will work hard to get to feeling better, and have less pain. He just finished my second knee replacement. Dr. Buzhardt has the best bedside manner. Makes you feel right at home. Mrs. Brenda his nurse is very nice as well. I would highly recommend him.

As painful as it has been, I actually enjoy going to see the good doctor cuz the office wait is minimal, staff is so friendly & Dr. Buzhardt always give me good medical advice & he has done a great job with my complete knee replacement! A mere thank you seems so small for having done such a great job & giving me my mobility back!

I had a Giant Cell Tumor burst through the bone wall of my femor 30 years ago that required removal of my knee, a portion of my femor and a portion of my tibia and an internal prosthesis inserted. Only 2 surgeons in the United States, at that time, were doing the surgery that I required....one in Houston and one in New Orleans. I went to New Orleans. The pre-op stage was lengthy as was was the surgery itself which lasted 15 hours. I was in the hospital for two weeks. Recovery was difficult, extremely painful and the post-surgical depression from the anesthesia was months long. Needless to say, when the prosthesis became loose in my leg I was scared of going through all of that again. I spoke to my orthopedic doctor, Dr. David Clause, and he researched surgeons for me and recommended Dr. Buzhardt. I met with Dr. Buzhardt and his nurse, Ms. Brenda, at the Lafayette Orthopedic Hospital. My husband and I were both impressed with not only Dr. Buzhardt and his staff but with everyone we encountered throughout the hospital. Dr. Buzhardt is not only an excellent surgeon, he is a gifted problem solver.....he's not stymied when encountering an unexpected snag or problem while in the midst of a surgery. My surgery lasted only about three hours and I was only in the hospital for only three and a half days. Doc checked on me every morning while I was in the hospital and has checked on me daily then every other day since I've come home. Ms. Brenda has been prompt in returning a phone call when I've had a question. I've had no post-surgical depression as Doc didn't put me under. I've had minimal pain which has surprised me greatly. Best of all, I was able to have my surgery done here in Lafayette (which placed less of a burden on my husband and family) and received care that I feel equals that of any of the top notch hospitals in the country. I can't recommend Dr. Buzhardt, his staff and the staff at Lafayette Orthopedic Hospital highly enough. I'm looking forward to getting back to hiking and camping this summer! I’m Christy Howell and Dr Buz did a very complicated knee replacement for me on 6.12.19 and I was told for 12 years it couldn’t be done. He did the impossible for me. I’m still doing therapy right now but I am looking forward to walking without pain and being able to live a more active lifestyle. He has the best bedside manner and all the nursing staff have been amazing. Not once have I had any trouble getting through to them about questions or appointments or refills on medication. Great surgeon. I have been using Dr Buzhardt for over a year. I almost lost my leg from a knee replacement, because they couldn’t do anything else in my hometown. I was transferred to Lafayette. I had total hip replacement last August which was amazing total knee replacement 2 weeks ago although recovery is a little more difficult the staff is awesome and I know my recovery will be just as great as the hip recovery

Dr. Buzhardt is an exceptional doctor. My son had a severe brake in his arm and the care he received was above and beyond anything you would expect. Not only did he have great bed side manner, he also spoke in a way that my 11 year old could also understand everything that was going on. The best surgeon I have ever encountered and I would recommend him and I have recommended him to several people. My knee had become knocked and he has straightened it. My incision looks great! I love Dr Buzhardt and his nurse is awesome as well!
