Very thorough and great bedside manners.
Dr. Bernard answered all of our questions and made it very clear what the next steps would be.
Dr. Bernard is a great physician! Calm, knowledgeable, and a great bedside manner. Would highly recommend!
Dr Bernard is an incredible Dr who spends so much time making me and my son feel important! He is the best ever!
Dr. Bernard and his staff have always shown our daughter kindness, support and understanding as we have been navigating her endocrine journey. Dr. Bernard worked alongside us as we had to deal with our insurance company not wanting to cover the prescribed course of treatment. He went the extra mile during our appeals process, while not an easy one, his persistence and educating us regarding our daughter’s diagnosis helped us make the best decision for our daughter. Our family is so grateful. I highly recommend Dr. Bernard if your child is in need of an endocrinologist!

Not only is this the most efficient doctors office, the entire staff is kind and helpful! So grateful! I wish all medical offices ran like this one. Yes
Dr. Bernard and Ann have always provided excellent care for us. On top of that, they work hard to quickly help with insurance approvals and requests.
We have had a great experience with Dr. Bernard and his office. They all have been kind, caring and outside of the box thinkers for our complex medical child. We truly appreciate them and are so thankful for helping our child grow and thrive!!
My son has been seeing Dr. Bernard for several years. The entire experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Bernard and his team have been tremendous to work with, have always been highly responsive to questions and requests and seem to genuinely care about my son's progress. I highly recommend them.
My daughter was experiencing an issue with her blood sugar levels and when I called the office I was personally called back by Ann the nurse practitioner. She was able to work us into their schedule for that day and when I arrived at the office we were brought right back. The medical assistant is always polite and efficient. We have been seeing this office for 7 years now and we absolutely love Ann. She is always very personal with my daughter and she remembers her at each visit. She went out of her way to accommodate us and help us with the new insulin pump my daughter uses. Ann called back the next day after reaching out to the pump distributor and she called us that day to follow up. My daughters pump is now working and her blood sugars have been perfect!! We definitely recommend this office!!

Always excellent patient care by NP Ann Coursey!
Ann Simmonds the NP has been a huge help to our family, she is warm, caring and professional.
We really love Dr. Bernard. He’s so personable, kind, and provides great care for my son.
All providers I worked with were very transparent, sharing their screens with me and extremely prompt and responsive to phone calls and messages on their portal.
Dr. Bernard is an excellent doctor who really listens to concerns and has great bedside manner with my son. We trust his expertise and appreciate this thorough approach.
It was refreshing (after a year and a half of searching for answers to my child's illness) to meet a dr that actually has empathy. Dr Bernard really listened to my daughter and is helping us find answers. We are grateful to have found him!
We have been seeing Dr.Bernard for past 8 months. He is very good and providing good care. The physicians and staffs are super responsive and so far we have a very good experience with Dr.Bernard and his team.
Wonderful Dr and staff. My daughter has been a patient since her diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes from the age of 10 and is now 19. He is thoughtful and listens to his patients. Sad to leave the practice to find an adult Endocrinologist.
I feel like I can get in touch with them right away if I have an emergency question or even just a regular question. For office visits, they sit with you as long as you need to help with my son's diabetic care; I heard and seen as we come up with care plans. My son had dangerous keytones once and the doctor called every hour to make sure he was getting better and the keytones were leaving his body. It's a great place!
It took years to figure out what was wrong with my daughter's levels, and it was frustrating getting to the bottom of it, but eventually we got her on the right medication. Dr. Bernard's office is accessible, and they promptly respond to parent concerns through their portal. Appointments are timely and quick. They care about patients and work with parents to find the best treatment options for the child. They stress education and will take the time to teach parents as much as they would like to learn about their child's condition and course of treatment. They are not perfect, but they sure do try. That passion for service is the most important aspect of a good medical practice. They care. That is apparent in everything they do.
We have been patients of Dr. Bernard’s for almost 6 years and we have always had pleasant experiences. Dr Bernard is very through and takes his time talking to my son and I, I have never felt rushed. I have recommended him to many families and I know that they have been happy with him also.
Ann Simmonds is a true gift to this practice. She continually goes above and beyond. It is clear she genuinely loves her patients. She is knowledgeable and kindhearted. She always gives 110% of herself to my son (and myself)! Such a kind and caring woman. We adore her! Annie Coursey is also part of the medical staff in the practice. She, like Ann, always goes that extra mile to assist patients. She has helped us many times (through the Patient Portal). She too, is prompt and dedicated to assisting patients! From the front desk staff to the medical staff, we always have a good experience.
I took my kid here, its worst dealing with appointments with Dr.Bernard, it’s been a year we just saw him once, post that only nurse practitioner will handle patients, they recently prescribed medication and my kid has problems with it, they are not even responding correctly what will be next steps, even nurse practitioners are busy to call back, this is what reply I received from person who talked. Parents with children who have Trisomy 21 avoid, avoid, avoid!
We've been seeing Dr. Bernard for my daughter for many years and he's always been great! He genuinely cares about her and always does additional research on anything that comes up, which I greatly appreciate. I'm very glad we have him on our medical team.
Always impressed with the responsiveness of Annie via their portal! Literally minutes sometimes before she calls in a prescription for us. Dr Bernard has been very flexible and let's us manage with our style without too much micromanagement from him. 6 months back appointment confirmed during last visit and suddenly called us canceled appointment without proper explanation.Prior to this call other staff member confirmed us all required approvals in place and even we have confirmed with insurance also there are required approvals and good for visit. Denied service to my son after stating because of Covid they could not have more than two adults in a room. The woman who said this was sitting in a room with four adults plus the three of us. I received a call back from the office manager Ray Hernandez following the denied service. In this phone call he stated they would no longer be seeing our son due to our insistence that both parents be present.
I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Bernard and his office staff. He is meticulous with his exam and history as well as interpretation of labs and imaging. I especially appreciated that he made sure our child was comfortable and informed during the entire evaluation. He made sure to communicate with our child's pediatrician and reviewed records after our visit. As a health care provider myself, I consider his care and his office staff to be some of the best that I have encountered. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Bernard and his office staff. Dr. Bernard has been informative. Ann has been helpful. It's ridiculous that the charge for seeing a doctor is the same as the cost to see a nurse practitioner--perhaps that's an issue with our insurance? The portal/messaging system is AWFUL. I'm appalled that a medical office can use such a confusing, unreliable electronic interface. To be clear: We have received good care. And I don't mind scheduling appointments many months in advance. But communication with the office and with providers is unsatisfactory. Dr. Bernard has been informative. Ann has been helpful. My child has been a patient of Dr. Bernard for the past several years and we have had a terrific experience with this clinic. They are very responsive and proactive, and go the extra mile to pursue all avenues of addressing our concerns. I would highly recommend them to anyone. One of the very best practices we have been to. My child was misdiagnosed for over two years and Dr. Bernard took the time and came up with the correct diagnosis. We are forever grateful. Dr.Bernard and his staff are top notch!

Blood drawn in wrong vials ..... forgot to call and let me know while we wait and wait and wait...... have to take child back for more blood work.... oh how did dread telling her.... no interest in the affect on putting a child through this again and preventing this from happening to another child but concerned with who will pay for second test. Bad office staff can sabotage a physician’s good clinical skills! Stay away from this place as their billing department is a nightmare to deal with. They treat every patient as a cash patient then double dip and bill the insurance. They do not tell you how much the visit costs and they're annoyed that you're asking how much the visit costs and how much they're billing the insurance. Not worth the hassle of dealing with them, there are other options out there. Too bad because we like the doctor. Stay away from this place as their billing department is a nightmare to deal with. My daughter has been seen at this practice since 2016, and never have we ever, run into any problems. The staff is friendly and efficient. I love the way that Ms. Ann Simmonds and Dr. Paul Bernard speak directly to my daughter and treat her like the responsible teenager she is. They speak with parents in a professional, yet compassionate manner, and answer all questions. They return messages very quickly, especially through the Patient Portal. Also, if you need diabetic equipment or medication refills, they do not waste time. Anybody posting a negative review to this site, I am sorry that your experience was different from the years of appointments we have had. Great service and bed side manner. Great way of speaking to adolescent 13 yo girl. Medical knowlege and communication were outstanding.
How this office is run is so aggravating. Not organized at all. So fed up. Looking for new Endo.

I had a great experience with Dr. Bernard's office. The staff is very friendly and informative. Dr. Bernard took his time to answer all of my questions and made my son feel very comfortable.
Not impressed with his nurse’s at all. Long waits to see the doctor.
Worst experience with a specialist office . I normally give people a second chance but not this time. I made Dr appointment for my daughter In June for September ridiculous but I made the appointment anyway. I recieved email and text reminding me of appointment even the morning of the appointment. At no time did anyone in billing do what other professional offices do call you and say just wanted to inform you we require payment up front and we would need to collect $250 on your visit. They didn't do their job correctly had me take my child out of school early, get off my job early to be told we can reschedule you for next Thursday at the same time. So you want me to take my child out of school again and I'm here right now. I already waited 3 months for this appointment and I offered to pay half the 250 when you really should just be billing my insurance company. I left that office and will never return. If you want to do the job for someone that's getting pay this will be the perfect Doctor office for you. If you expect people to act like they want to help your child more then money find another specialist office. Worst experience with a specialist office . Very caring doctor. He takes his time and listens. He is very thoughtful in his treatment. He is not overzealous or too conservative in his treatment.
Had a good experience both times my daughter went to Dr. Bernard. He listens, he takes his time explaining, and does not make unneccesary treatment plans.
We love this practice. Dr. Bernard is a wonderful pediatric endocrinologist. Nurse Practitioner, Ann Simmonds, runs the growth hormone process efficiently with excellent communication every step of the way. You will feel like this practice is on your side and an advocate for your child.
I was very impressed with our first appt. First, the man in the front office was very helpful to me. The doctor and his nurse were professional and listened to what I had to say as well as answered questions. The icing on the cake was that they talked directly to my daughter with kindness. I trusted their knowledge on how to help me help my daughter. The visit ended with Ann hugging my child bye. I highly recommend this office and we found our dr! Been using Dr.Bernard now for over 4 years with both my daughter and my son who have slow thyroids , and at no time has any one at this office ever been unprofessional, even Prince who is the receptionist (Devon) so here is the most recent photo taken .If you have a appointment, your appointment is honoured at that time no one waits. They treated us like a third world country. Been going for 3 years and the staff is rude and reflects poorly. Expected more that what we received.
This is not the place to take your children to. At first it seemed like the staff was warm and confident as of 2017, but something changed. The personnel and nurse practitioner is rude with as well as the front desk. My son has special needs and they would not make time for him. My baby sees lots of physicians and has a good team, and this place..do not take your child to. They do not go the extra mile.
Do not...I repeat DO NOT go to this practice. A couple of years ago, I took my son to this dr to have some tests run. I paid out of pocket and was assured by Dr. Bernard that we would not incur any additional charges. Fast forward a few months later, I received a bill. I called and spoke with someone and they said that the charges would be removed. I received 3 more bills and each time I called they said it would be removed. Just received a final bill. They said we had to pay. These people lie!
Worst Specialist office I have ever been to. Made my Daughter appointment in June for September, insurance information is provided on 1st call, which is not a problem that's normal practice, you get an email reminding you of your appointment several times including text messages. But it's impossible for someone at the office to call you in advance to tell you they expect payment before seeing the doctor. Not a $35 co-payment but $250,when you offer to pay half. No you can reschedule.
After Dr. Bernard's assessment of my daughter, he requested lab work be done. He assured me that the technicians were great with kids and my daughter would be fine. The lab technician (Quest Diagnostics Incorporated) was unable to get the blood that was needed. She attempted twice, moving the needle around while in my 8 years old daughter's arm (1st attempt) and hand (2nd attempt). The lab tech. stated that my daughter was a hard stick and wanted to stick her a third time. My daughter was very uncomfortable and started to cry on both attempts. I declined the third attempt and she offered the lab order for me to take my daughter elsewhere for the lab work. I was sent to the front desk where I explained the series of events in hopes of gaining guidance of my next step. I received no information as to how to get the requested lab work or where I would need to go to get the blood work that Dr. Bernard requested. I called my daughter's pediatrician and explained to them what happened and they apologized, something I never got from Dr. Bernard's office, and they advised me to contact Dr. Bernard's office and they would be able to help me with the needed information. Well, I called this morning and spoke with Felicia. I explained what happened on my first visit and she quickly advised me to call my insurance company. I informed her that it would have been helpful to have gotten this information before I left on the initial visit. I also requested to receive a return telephone call from the doctor so that I can make a formal complaint of the lack of customer service. She refused and stated that she was taking the complaint. I was very disappointed with my visit, the professionalism, and lack of concern of the staff at this office. I will be contacting my pediatrician to inquire about referring my daughter and I to another endocrinologist. After Dr. Bernard's assessment of my daughter, he requested lab work be done. Dr Bernard lacks knowledge to diagnose anything beyond a best guess. He and his staff do not let patients know they are way behind schedule and let you sit waiting for over an hour. His front desk clerk is rude and ignores you when you want in. Worse thing is after waiting over an hour to see him you can’t walk out because they pre-collect payment before you see the so called dr.
met Dr Bernard recently, great bedside manner, very professional.
I've no doubt Dr. Bernard is good, but his office staff leaves much to be desired. After seeing dr & told we needed bloodwork drawn, we were left waiting for 40 minutes! The time spent in anticipation caused my kid anxiety. When nurse came to draw blood, she told me to hold down my kid & mocked him for being "chicken". It was SO unprofessional. She then questioned my ability as a mom for not being "stronger" (kid is bigger than me). This nasty woman shouldn't be working w/ children.
Before Dr. Bernard, my son went to two other endocrinologists. We never experienced a level of care or concern by the other doctors. We were pushed aside and made to feel like we were overreacting. Dr. Bernard listened to us and acted on our intuition regarding our son's growth. My son did have a problem producing growth hormone and we nearly caught this too late. The best decision we made as parents is making an appointment with Dr. Bernard. He and his staff are caring, efficient and competen
Dr Bernard is an excellent doctor , takes time in listening to our concerns and answers every question in great detail. Staff in the office are friendly and well maintained space.
Dr Bernard is simply amazing. He takes time to listen to my son and has helped us to manage this disease. He has a great rapport with kids. He is thoughtful, honest and straightforward with my child. At our first appointment he told us he would show us how to live with diabetes and he has done exactly that. My child has been feeling great and has been able to participate in all desired activities. We are blessed to have such a great doctor in our area.
While Type I diabetes is no fun, Dr. Bernard does a fantastic job of helping us mange it. I would highly recommend him and his staff.
We had a scheduled referral visit with what I consider an average wait time to see Dr Bernard. The staff was very pleasant & polite. Dr Bernard was thorough, informative & was wonderful with my 10 year old.
