Our son was told that surgery was the only option even after a follow-up appointment where we pushed very hard about whether circumcision was really the only option. Nothing I read online suggested that surgery was necessary for what we were dealing with so we got a second opinion. That doctor told us that Dr. O'Halloran does things "differently" than everybody else. See a different doctor or if this doctor recommends you for surgery, get a second opinion. I was a patient in the mid 90s. 25 years later I still remember how frightened I was and looking at “wacky cat clocks” didn’t change not being listened to. Hoping that the field and Dr. O’hallaren have evolved to move beyond telling children they are ‘fine’ when kiddos ask for their parents during exams.

He suggested surgery as the only option. Unfortunately we listened to his recommendation and we are much worse off than where we started. Taking our son to see Dr O'Hollaren was the worst decision I have ever made.

My son was referred by his primary care. At our appointment we were told he needed surgery so we went ahead and scheduled it. Due to a change in insurance before surgery we ended up needing to switch to a different doctor. That doctor was alarmed that we were scheduled for surgery. He gave us a cream to try first that totally solved the problem and we definitely don't need surgery. If you are advised that you need surgery I would highly recommend a second opinion first. We've seen Dr O'Hollaren for 13 years. All 4 of my children had kidney reflux and hes seen them all from beginning to end. His skill, bedside manner and compassion is why we stayed with him. Hes so good with my kids which makes me comfortable as well. I cannot speak higher of him. I refer everyone to him that has any urological needs for their children. We just found out my youngest outgrew his reflux and I'm kind of sad because I always looked forward to our appointments. (Of course I'm happy he wont need surgery but still bittersweet). So I highly recommend this Dr. You wont regret it.

Dr. O’Hallaren insisted our son needed a revision of his circumcision due to adhesions. We made it clear we preferred to avoid surgery & asked for any possible alternatives. He stated this was only option. We ended up getting a second opinion from another Urologist & it took him about 20 seconds to release the adhesions in his office & completely resolved the issue. It’s very concerning that Dr. O’Hollaren would suggest an unneeded surgery for a 6 month old baby.

I am an anesthesiologist who works in Portland, Oregon. Dr. O'Hollaren is one of the best surgeons with whom I have ever had the pleasure to work. His is a true savant in the operating room. When my daughter required a pediatric urologist, there was not question in my mind as to who would be taking care of her. It would have to be Dr. O'Hollaren. In my experience with Dr. O'Hollaren over 20 years, both as a colleague and as a health provider for my daughter, he has been kind, gentle, expert

Dr. O'Hollaren was kind and gentle with our one year old son. We had to have two surgeries done. The first one went perfectly with no complications. We will be going in for our second one soon. I'm glad we where referred to him.

Dr. O. was referred to me by the parents of one of my son's friends. My son was nervous and the doctor was so kind and gentle. My son was scared for the appt, but at the end, was smiling and laughing. The doctor put my son's mind - and my mind - at ease. I've already given his name to a family member whose child is having a similar issue; I trust him completely and am grateful for all of his years of experience. Thanks, Dr. O!
