I really appreciate Dr. Gilroy. I have had 2 visits with her and her PA in the past month. Each time I felt heard, examined thoroughly, based on my health complaint/concern, and most importantly appropriate diagnostic tests were ordered promptly. Super impressed so far ????????

I recently visited this office to obtain a second opinion and establish as a new patient. After having been an ENT patient at a large practice for 5 years, Dr. Gilroy and her staff were a refreshing change. Dr. Gilroy was professional and competent. She spent a lot more time with me than my previous ENT and answered all my questions. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr Gilroy needs better phone staff who set up appointments, as she never entered mine into the system, even after I repeated it back to her while on the phone and entered it my calendar and getting her conformations. A month later I showed up for said appointment, just to be told "We don't have an appointment for you" and looked at me as if I was clueless. My suggestion: Call them back and confirm appointment at a later time BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR TIME AND EFFORT.

Do not use this so called doctor ! HORRIBLE!!!

Went it for a first time appointment with Gold Level health insurance through Humana with ENT Non-Referral covered. They stuck a scope up my nose for about a minute, talked with me for about another 5-10 minutes, and prescribed me an anti-inflammatory. I pay an $80 copay and move on with my life. 6 months later or so, I get a bill from collections saying I owe $350. Apparently they got $80 from me, then maxed out my insurance at around $600 (for that type of appointment), and want another $350 as if that wasn't enough money already. They never called me, nothing. So expect to pay about $100 a minute for work done here! They also jacked my credit up in the process. Very frustrated. Just avoid them. If you are looking for an ENT I would highly recommend Dr. Gilroy. Parking provided right at door to her office. Staff are super friendly and Dr. Gilroy is personable and an extremely competent Doctor. One great advantage of going to her she has an independent practice and has not been bought our by some conglomerate medical company so unnecessary tests are not performed but only those that are actually needed. Be very careful using this provider. They apparently do not check with your insurance company what the coverage is and will send you suprise bills months later and then threaten you with collections. We paid after the visit upfront with no mention of extra charges that would be forthcomming only to receive a bill later. Just had nasal surgery and didn't even need to take pain medication. Couldn't be more happy. I can breathe again.

Had my first visit a few days ago. Lucy up front was very friendly. The nurse who took me back to the exam room was very pleasant and efficient. Doctor Gilroy was very pleasant and professional with a good sense of humor. An overall good medical visit.

I have been suffering for 35 days, hospitalized, seen more doctors and have had every test imaginable done to me and no resolve. I went to Dr. Gilroy and she identified and fixed my problem in one visit. I would recommend her to anyone. Beyond 5 stars!

Dr Gilroy and her staff are the utmost professionals and experts in their field. They made my experience comfortable, had me laughing and relaxing; and then the doctor came in and was such an expert and knew so much about my ear, it was incredible! BEWARE Dr. Gilroy Put Me to Sleep At Palms Of Pasadena To Remove Hair And Dead Skin From Inside My Nose So I Could Breath Better. Dr. Gilroy is amazing! She is caring, professional and knowledgeable. She was willing to go the extra mile to take care of me after a very painful injury even though it meant taking a significant amount of unanticipated time out of a busy day when she was unexpectedly short-staffed. I haven't yet encountered any other doctors like her in the 15 months or so that I've lived in St. Petersburg. Her staff was equally knowledgeable, warm and caring.

I feel like a entirely new person after just one visit to Dr. Gilroy! Her treatment protocol to correct my sinus infection worked perfectly. Thank you Dr. Gilroy!!!

Was nervous about seeing an ENT as I had memories of my late father receiving a cancer diagnosis for a tickle in his throat. Dr. Gilroy put me at ease quickly at the very beinning of the exam and continued to educate me on my current condition. Prescribed the appropriate meds (I am retired 6 years now after 25 years in Big Pharma) and gave me the right stuff. O LEST I forget the wonderful, friendly staff. I felt as I was amongst friends right as I walked in. I am actually looking forward for my follow up visit.

I saw Dr. Gilroy for a persistent ear itch and discomfort that seemed to initiate a throat and chest infection frequently last year. My ear problem plagued me for years. She treated my ear and sent me for an additional sinus X-ray. Her thoroughness, has helped me tremendously. She also treated me for persistent sinusitis that was picked up on the X-ray. I had severe headaches that have now subsided, thanks to Dr. Gilroy. I am feeling better than I have felt in years. I am so grateful to her and her excellent and kind staff. The ARNP in the office really knows her specialty and works so well with the doctor. My husband was initially her patient and she worked persistently to help him with symptoms. She listens! I feel being a woman patient, there have been many times that my symptoms are generally kind of ignored. Not with Dr. Gilroy and her staff. They give their best to their patients!

Spent 30 seconds with my daughter before she told me that she recommended cutting her frenulum. Snipped it and walked out, just got $700 bill from her office and is NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE! Absolutely disgusted.

Don't go here. Dr. Is great staff is Not. Does not follow insurance procedures .I am in collections because they cant do their job. Proper persons have been contacted as its illegal to bill patient Medicare charges. AMA is aware too.

Two days later, the abscess and pain came back and we called Dr. Gilroy's office at 5 a.m. She returned our call in minutes of speaking to her answering service. Without even seeing our daughter she took our word for it, scheduled ER time that very day, and the tonsils and the abscess were out by noon. We couldn't imagine more prompt patient care. Prompt, patient and professional that is how I describe Dr. Gilroy and her office staff. They got me in for an emergency appointment within 1.5 hours. I had part of my hearing aid lodged in my ear, went to theER and was worked on for 1.5 hours with considerable pain. Upon arriving at Dr Gilroys , she removed the object with 90 seconds. Excellent service and compassion. Highly recommended.

Made appointment two weeks ago with Dr. Gilroy's office. Explained the details when appt was made. The office called to confirm day before appt. They called morning of appt to tell us that he needed to see a lung specialist not a ENT. Keep in mind never have seen Gilroy yet. Told them lungs were not the issue and PCP referred us to a ENT for possible scar tissue due to being incubated for a long time. They proceeded to tell us they did not see patience whom were going thru work mans comp or insurance company due to accident. Made it clear more than once that is not the case. That was waiting for his health ins to kick in and looking for relief for his breathing. Even set appt as early as possible because of looking for answers and relief. That office could use a lesson in humanity.

Patricia Gilroy, M.D. is not only an excellent surgeon, but she has a very professional staff, is thorough in her explanation of her patient's condition and recommended treatment. She performed sinus surgery on me and the outcome was excellent. My post-surgery experience was pain free. I highly recommend her to anyone with sinus/breathing problems.

I don't know why I didn't leave a review before, I had a surgery back in 7/2016. Everything from the long office waits, billing issues with insurance and the office, And most importantly the surgery. This was one of the most awful experiences. The hospital she chose was palms of Pasadena. This place was disgusting, the staff was not friendly. The worst part about his whole thing is I still have the same issues that I experienced prior to the surgery with no relief.

The Dr was wonderful, but since then I've been trying to get the office staff to submit my child's bill to insurance. I received 1 bill in June 2017 for my son's surgery in April 2017. I called and gave them my insurance info over the phone and then found out in August that my account had been sent to collections. When I called the office I was told "my insurance info hadn't been attached to my account so it automatically goes into collections. They will try again to submit it." Weeks later, I called the office and was told there was "nothing they could do," that "my son didn't have insurance" (which he did!) and that "I had to deal with the collection agency and to leave them alone." I finally ended up filing a grievance with my insurance company because the last time I called (January 2018), I was told "they filed my claim last week & December 5". I said thank you and which day last week? I was told "I can't see the date because the computer can't scroll down that far." I immediately called my insurance company to find out nothing had been submitted, still! Whoever answered the phone was also rude to my insurance representative. I am appalled that I have been treated the way Lucy and Kathy have treated me. I just want them to file my son's surgery bill (from April 2017!) to my insurance to take it out of collections. I can't pay it because insurance won't reimburse me and why should I pay money when insurance will cover the entire surgery?! I have every conversation documented with whom I spoke to, the date and the time to cover my bases. Dr Gilroy’s office was calming and fast to make sure my little girl was comfortable and Dr Gilroy was able to remove the bead! Her bedside manner was amazing. Dr. Gilroy and staff are amazing. The bad reviews on this site are ridiculous. Lucy at the front desk is attentive and juggles many balls! My journey began 1.5 yrs ago. It started w/ severe environmental allergies that were causing my throat to close. I went through allergy testing and it was discovered I'm allergic to basically being outside in FL. I was put on daily drops to build my immune system -- and now am in maintenance phase. My allergies have dramatically gotten better and I no longer need eye drops/and allergy pills. I also ended up having a sinus infection and through tests it showed it was a staph infection. Dr. Gilroy ordered a CT scan to see what was going on, and it was because of the CT scan - Dr. Gilroy discovered that I may have an abscess over a molar -- which led me to go to a endodontist. As it turned out - the abscess was over a molar that was infected for potentially years. The infection was over a molar that had a root canal years ago so it did not present. Per the endodontist - the infection was black. After the root canal I was told that the potential exists for surgery because the infection had been in there so long and had eaten away at my sinus cavity and nested inside my sinuses. I asked to be conservative in our approach to treat so tried antibiotics and rinses... which did not fix the issue so finally I was told the only treatment was surgery. I just had sinus surgery and there is no doubt Dr. Gilroy discovering the abscess through the CT scan -- is the reason why it was such a success. The day of sinus surgery the bleeding stopped. The day after I had energy and got out for a few hours. I am now almost a week post op and can start working out again. I never had any bruising. I was told what to expect w/ the surgery and the results exceeded my expectations. Dr. Gilroy, Emily, Lucy, and the rest of the team @ Dr. Gilroys office are outstanding. They are caring and they listen. I would refer anybody to this office because it's hard to find a Dr. that is in it to heal vs. going thru the motions w/ your ins company. I was referred by my primary for ENT consult as i had lost hearing in my right ear. Lucy greeted me with kindness and understanding. My appointment was made within days. At my appointment, I was impressed by each staff members willingness to listen to my concerns and offer solutions. Each person I encountered, reception, assistant, audiologist, medical/physician's assistant, and Dr. Gilroy were outstanding. They followed up with my next appointment, gave reminders on several platforms, (call, email, text). Lucy secured all the necessary forms promptly. Hubby had an apt today with Dr. Gilroy as a new patient. We were referred to her by our cardiologist. Our experience with this visit was top notch. Receptionist was good. Wait time was about 5 - 8 minutes. Spoke to nurse first who took info & entered into computer. Next came the PA who was also very pleasant & knowledgeable. After she was done, Dr. G came in & saw my husband as well. Found the staff to be pleasant. Nurse & PA (sorry I am terrible with names, both females) were very good. I cannot say enough about Dr. Gilroy and her office staff! We met Dr. Gilroy 4 years ago when my son had a sinus infection that put him in the hospital twice. She did sinus surgery on him and with excellent results and she took such great care that I knew then that we had a new ENT Dr. and we wouldn't go anywhere else. Lucy always accommodates our scheduling needs and asks about my children, Emily and Jena are great as well. Dr Gilroy has been my ENT for years! Her practice is all about taking care of the patient. Her staff is warm and friendly and they always tell you your financial responsibility ahead of time. Recently I had sinus surgery at St Anthony’s Hospital, first rate!! I have a lot of experience as initially, I went for allergy shots once a week. I have seen it all. Once, a patient had an appointment at 8am. They showed up at 930am and were angry they were not being seen ASAP. I was impressed how accommodating the Dr and staff were to this person. I had a great experience with this office! My 2.5 year old daughter was suffering from recurrent ear and sinus infections for months. She was miserable for many months prior to seeing Dr. Gilroy. I was able to get in quickly for an evaluation and then scheduled for surgery shortly thereafter. The front office staff has always been friendly and accommodating. My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Gilroy for years and we just love her and her staff! She is incredibly knowledgeable, really talks things through with you and has a tremendous sense of humor! She has performed 2 surgeries on me, both very successful and I could not be happier. Dr. Gilroy and her staff are knowledgeable and professional, while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. From the receptionist (Lucy) to the doctors and PA. I was actually talking with one of the doctors at 9:30 - and my appointment was for 9:30! Impressive medical team, and I recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs an ENT.

If you want an intelligent, knowledgeable and caring Doctor call and make an appointment. I have been going here for years for asthma, allergies and chronic sinus problems. Awesome.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Gilroy for years and we just love her and her staff! She is incredibly knowledgeable, really talks things through with you and has a tremendous sense of humor! She has performed 2 surgeries on me, both very successful and I could not be happier. All of her staff is wonderful but we especially love Lucy at the front. We highly recommend her for any ENT needs.

Dr. Gilroy spends time explaining things and she always make you feel like your needs are important.

Dr. Gilroy takes a lot of time to answer my questions and I don’t feel rushed like I’m not as important as the next patient.

Charged me for the procedure upfront without even seeing me in person and then refused to bill me. I get having to pay my co pay upfront, that's fine. But the procedure fee before you send it to my insurance!? I don't think so.

Dr Gilroy may or not be a decent Dr. However, her office staff (including Lucy) are incompetent and have no interest in doing their jobs nor any concern for patients. When I called with referral in hand to schedule....They informed me that I needed to have my PCP send over my referral, Drs. notes, and insurance information. I called my PCP and her office staff sent over my info right away, calling me back to verify that the fax went through. I called Dr. Gilroy office back and was told they hadn't received it. They were getting close to closing and to call back tomorrow as it usually takes an hour for faxes to go through. I called back the next day and was told that they still hadn't received it. That they would call me to schedule once they had. So I called my PCP to re-verify that it was sent the day prior which it was. They even called to verify he fax number again. So, another day has passed and I still hadn't heard anything. Longest fax in history! Lucy, became condescending and said, "Well, bc we still haven't received it!" She repeated some line about how they are SO busy and their faxes can take days to come through. I asked her if I was going to have to wait weeks for the "fax to go through" and she responded that it it will take how long it takes....they are really busy! Lmao Yeah, no thanks. I was going to be a new patient at this office.i was warned beforehand from the previous reviews as well as word of mouth that “whoever answers the phone is horrible.” So I was on edge. The scheduling at first was great, but then I received a call from Lucy the day before my appointment. Lucy was horrible. She told me I was going to have to have a mandatory test done due for what I was coming in for, but refused to tell me exactly what the price was for the test as she constructed a total price of many hypothetical treatments that the dr may do. I asked her upwards of 5 times “please tell me just what the test is going to cost” since that was the only mandatory portion but she refused and kept spitting out the $500 total with all the treatments. She got frustrated and hung up the phone. I will be calling the office and filing a formal complaint as her customer service is atrocious. They lost a new patient and I encourage her manager to put her through thorough customer service training. UPDATE: the office manager, Kathy, is just as horrible. After explaining in detail what occurred and my frustration, she says “thank you for your opinion.” Silence.... i respond “that’s it?” Where she then says i don’t know what you want me to say. Dr. Gilroy has taken care of our son since birth. She is caring and takes the time each visit to understand the issues and answer all of our questions. I highly recommend her if you have a child that needs tubes or has a general need for an ENT.

Patricia Gilroy, M.D. is an exceptional physician and surgeon. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and has a great deal of compassion. In August of 2017 Dr. Gilroy performed a Right Thyroid Lobectomy for a suspected thyroid nodule. Prior to surgery she described the procedure to my husband and I in detail. After the procedure the healing was non-remarkable and there is barely a mark left. She is an extremely competent surgeon and is highly recommended by her peers.

Dr. Gilroy was awesome during my experience with my nose surgery. She was showed great compassion was my health and my recover process. I would recommend her to anyone who needs to go through this process.

Dr. Gilroy was recommended to me by the lactation consultants at Bayfront following the birth of my son; he was born with a posterior tongue tie and wouldn't latch when breastfeeding. Her office was able to get me in for an appointment quickly and she performed the procedure right there in the office. My son latched that night and has been feeding wonderfully ever since! Both her & her staff were very helpful throughout the whole process regarding recommendations and answering any questions.

My PCP sent over my referral, Drs. notes, & insurance info 3 days ago and verified this twice. For 3 days, I have recvd no appt...only attitude and the runaround about how faxes take a long time. Longest fax in history! Must be a fax machine from 1963. Dr Gilroy is only as good as her staff. And her staff are rude and lazy. No thanks!

Dr. Gilroy and her staff excellent, they make you feel like and treat you like family. Being able to go there and leave with the piece of mind that you were treated promptly, accurately and by people who actually care is very comforting.

I collapsed due to a Pulmonary Embolism and broke my nose. Dr. Gilroy did the nasal fracture surgery and alone with her PA, they are awesome. I highly recommend her and I appreciate what she has done for me. AWESOME!

I was having a very hard time breathing through my nose. Dr Gilroy recommended a nasal surgery that would enlarge the inside of my nose. As with all surgery's I was not sure of the out come! I had the surgery by Dr Gilroy, it was very easy and the improvement in my breathing was unbelievably great. The hardest part was sitting in the room for 20 min waiting for the numbing agent to take effect. I would recommend this surgery and Dr Gilroy to everyone who need's a better breathing capacity.

Dr. Gilroy and her staff LISTEN when the patient speaks, then they follow up with professional action that gets excellent results for the patient. I had a cough for nine months

Dr. Gilroy listened to me describe my problems and made suggestions, explaining why she made them. She referred me to a specialist when the problem was outside her expertise. She didn't not rush me and spent time w/ me.

I wish I could give this office a better review, but the scheduling/front office is sub par. Upon scheduling an appointment online, they quickly called me to reschedule as the time that showed open on their calendar was not actually available. I took this as a simple technical error and asked the receptionist (Lucy) what time's were available and I'd be happy to accomodate. We picked a time for today at 1PM and an Email was sent out to confirm and keep for my records. At 11:10ish AM today I receive an automated phone call stating I needed to reschedule my appointment because it was missed. Again, thinking this was a technical error I called right away to stated I received the voicemail. Lucy (again), stated my appointment was for 11 AM. When I explained to her the Email generated showed for 1 PM, she said I was wrong and was very condescending on the phone. If you are a person who schedules things in advance an holds your provider to some degree of a standard, then do not use this office. If you want to have an office dictate your appointment to whatever they want without notifying you, and wasting your time, then by all means, use this office. This is the worst customer service I've received in St. Peterburg area by far! I wish I could give this office a better review, but the scheduling/front office is sub par.
