Dr Huerter (Pam) understands me and takes wonderful care of me. She has been my primary physician since I moved to Lawrence in 2005.

Dr. Pamela Huerter and her staff are truly the most caring, knowledgeable medical team! After knowing Dr. Huerter socially and hearing her speak of her practice with such commitment to her patients, I asked if she would see me as a patient. In the very beginning, I feared I may have a serious condition from some unsettling symptoms. (I don’t.) But, her entire office worked hard to get me tested and examined. Dr Huerter’s bedside manner is very thorough, calm and thoughtful. She educated me throughout the process and prescribed medications which resolved my symptoms. I believe Dr. Huerter is a good physician. Two years ago, I requested my yearly PSA test. I arrived for my lab work. PSA test was not ordered. November 2021, I changed pharmacies. My medication order was called in by Dr Huerters staff incorrectly, At the same time, I scheduled another PSA test. Was told to call in. Called three times and was placed on hold each time for over thirty minutes. I could not make an appointment. Communication is terrible at this office!

Dr. Huerter has been my family physician for 17 years since my family and I moved to Lawrence in 2004. She is a kind, caring loving doctor. In spite of her quiet demeanor (which I actually find calming), she has never been anything less than attentive to my needs and genuinely concerned with my wellbeing. If had it to do over, I would pick her as my doctor again.

They scammed me twice on the same bill. On the phone I asked how much cash was it to visit her. They quoted me $110 over the phone. I show up for the appointment and they immediately bill my credit card for $110 before I saw the doctor. The following day they tried to extort $40 out of me by telling me they gave me the wrong price after collecting payment. 5 months later I get a bill for a $25 copay on this same doctor's visit I already prepaid. So they bill my insurance company after collecting payment from me and kept my payment and instead of refunding me my payment they send me a $25 copay bill. This place is crooked and dirty. Currently working with my insurance company to get a refund from these scam artists.

Dr Huerter is professional and direct. She has been my doctor for a number of years. I have never felt ignored, dismissed or talked down to. I value her knowledge and efficiency, which can appear standoffish or uncaring, but she does care.

Very satisfied with her as my doctor. She is direct and focused on understanding your issues and conditions and then goes thru a verbal review of typical characteristics of those issues, the options to treat them with possible side effects so the patient is a part of the treatment/remedy decision process. Answers questions by sharing her thought process as well as doctor community recent assessments. I highly recommend her.

If I could leave her 0 stars I would. I've been going to Dr. Pamela Huerter for years now, and every time I approach her with an issue I am having health wise she talks to me in a degrading manner to the point where I leave her office feeling more defeated & upset than when I arrived. She lacks empathy and is impersonal in every aspect. I have had multiple friends and coworkers have similar experiences with her. I would recommend going to a free clinic before going to Dr. Huerter. They at least listen to your concerns there

She's not a personable physician and she doesn't spend enough time with you to truly figure out what your issue is.

I have seen Pam for years. She is such a good listener and very responsive to my concerns. I love her nurse Shelly as well. They are a great team!

Scheduling is a nightmare. You’re not allowed to leave messages for a nurse unless they are in the office at that very moment. You can make same-day appointments only if you are asking to be seen for certain problems. Dr. Huerter herself and her nurse are wonderful, but the business side of the practice and the phone staff are terrible.
