Dr. Padma Lal

I’ve been trying for years to get my medical records transferred to my current endocrinologist. Nothing works. It’s pointless to try to leave messages begging for this to happen. Originally, when I was a patient, I never missed an appointment and always showed up on time, for years; yet I was suddenly dumped as a patient without any explanation. Disappointing. Great news for me though, I’ve been on a much more effective insulin pump system with a lovely endocrinologist and my A1C is down significantly.

Absolutely awful. She spent an hour berating and belitting me for things out of my control. Made absolutely obscene and degrading comments about my health issues, rolled her eyes at me, interrupted me and dismissed me constantly. She was just outright rude and disrespectful, and honestly her lack of professionalism and general humanity shocked me. I won’t be returning and wished that a woman with 32 years in the practice would not have been so blatantly awful to a young, anxious patient. Absolutely awful. I really appreciate how she doesn't sugar coat anything, she says it like it is and, I for one, truly like that about her. She works hard for her patients for the purpose of helping them, not to coddle. Although, she really is a very caring person. Get what you give.

I took my wife to see her and I am thankful that I went. She is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, demeaning... DO NOT go,find another Dr. The good reviews are probably from her or someone she paid. I will be filing a formal complaint soon. My reason for this review is to spare anyone from this type of treatment by someone who took a hypocritic oath to help patients. Honestly believe she has a personality disorder, sorry to say. Do not go alone! If you do go.

Dr Lal is an amazing doctor!! She is loving and caring. Please note she is an endocrinologist.. I think I spelled correctly. Would absolutely recommend Awesome office manager too :)

My first visit with Dr. Lal I felt like she was the key to figuring out what was causing my health issues, she ordered a lot of tests and sent me to additional specialists. Upon follow up, nothing from these tests seemed to answer the questions the way she wanted them to and she was rude, unprofessional, and insulting without cause. I will not be returning, and after speaking to my general doctor, he agreed that I should not.

I was a patient for 15 years. The past five were difficult. The last visit I had was disturbing, unprofessional and sad. She spewed a detailed story of another patient's detailed health information out of anger and frustration with this patient and many others in her practice.

This Dr doesn't even deserve a star. She is a horrible horrible person and that's being nice. I am contemplating whether I should have investigated. How she has a medical license is beyond me. Why is she still practicing after reading all the terrible reviews and horrible experiences the patients had? The things she said to my daughter left her devastated and feeling worse than before. She harassed her and questioned her intentions with her life. She was more interested in profiling my daughters life than treating her medical concerns. Padma is an evil, awful human being. She asked my daughter at one point if she was a depressed person, my daughter answered by saying she gets depressed at times, and Padma said I can tell just by looking at you that you are a depressed person, you're fat! She asked if she worked out and my daughter said she had joined the gym and had been going good, but she pointed to her stomach and said "I see that's not working for you" I called the office and spoke to the receptionist there (whom is also treated badly by this awful woman), I wanted to speak to Padma, but she wasn't available, hmmmm, she won't call me back, she is a bully, she won't talk to someone who will stand up to her. She even had the nerve to say my daughter was probably bullied in school for being fat, all because we home schooled her for part of her school years. I will be filing a complaint to the medical board and I advise anyone who wrote a negative review about her to do the same. NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, look for the complaint file, print it off and send it in. She should not be a dr. In fact she almost seemed like she was drunk or on drugs with the way she was slurring her words and speaking. This Dr doesn't even deserve a star. Don’t believe any of the 5 star reviews. She may have a degree but she has no common sense. Insulting patients, cruel and calling them names is not appropriate. She is an extremely nosey person, who cared more about where we lived and what kind of car we drove than treating myself. When you go there (if you’re smart you’ll stay away) be prepared to be profiled. The worst Dr EVER!!!!

She is professional, kind and very knowledgeable. She’s comprehensive in patient care management and would highly recommend her.

Worse doctor I have every experience and would never recommend to anyone else.

I had a terrible experience first with the staff. I was having difficulty getting labwork done with the only lab they use because their hours are very hard to nail down, especially with a day job. I took time off from work and I drove to two of the labs and they were closed when they should have been open. I called Dr.Lal's office and explained my dilema and asked the nurse if there is a different lab I could go to or any other options. She rudely told me that "we all have to get things done" and offered no help or even just an explanation. I was upset and called back to speak with Dr. Lal and was told that she does not speak with patients and that if I called to complain about the nurse it was no use. At my next appointment the nurse remembered this exchange and was less than friendly and made my visit most unpleasant. I told this to Dr. Lal and she said something along the lines of there's nothing they could do. I have a sneaking suspicion the nurse told her about our conversation and twisted things around. Meanwhile Dr.Lal did not help me with my medical condition at all and just kept having me make appointments with no results. I asked for my GP to refer me to a different endocrinologist and I am so happy that I no longer have to see her or interact with anyone from that office I had a terrible experience first with the staff. This doctor humiliated and belittled my wife who was looking for help with her condition. All because our family doctor put her on a supplement without her knowledge. We listen to our doctors when they prescribe treatment. It is not our job to coordinate their prescriptions/treatments. A very arrogant little woman with zero compassion and empathy for her patients. If you want to be abused and talked down to - she is the doctor for you. If you are smart - run when you hear her name. Dr Lal is an OK doctor. She rushes her patients off as they did not pay for the 5 or 10 minutes with her. She never really explains the reason she behind the change of blood work results; she is very impatient and rude. You can't have any other questions. Her face will fill with anger if you dare to ask any questions that she can't answer. Her staff is similar as well. If you are thinking about going to her, please don't. You can get better treatment and service elsewhere.

She is the very BEST. She takes the time to explain everything and answer all my questions.

I had mix up with her secretary scheduling me a group session with an unpaid nutrition counselor, I missed the appointment, which I was under the impression I was waiting for a call back to reschedule, and she said she was not interested in working with me anymore. I was also tested for diabetes, I called for the results and the nurse said my results came back fine but the dr would call to go over them. I didn't hear anything for 6 weeks and I called back and the dr said I was pre diabetic.

Retched awful woman who is more concerned with insurance reimbursement then providing quality care. Doesn't answer questions and mocks patient.

Cant speak to her ability, because you have to wait 4 months for an appointment. Shouldn't advertise that she's accepting new patients, obviously if you call in Aug for an appointment and they cant see you until December, she doesn't need any more patients. Staff was very uncaring and unwilling to help.

I canceled ONE appointment and she called my OBGYN and told them she was dropping me as a patient. I called and rescheduled an appointment immediately after that. My first appointment after she tried dropping me as a patient started by Dr. Lal walking into the room saying "I don't think I like you too much. You cannot cancel appointments. If you want me to follow you as a patient you must come to every appointment. Period!" Very arrogant and unprofessional. Terrible bedside manor. Don't go here!
