Dr. Oscar Tamez

Dr Tamez is GREAT, is front desk staff is horrendous. I’ve been emailing and calling them for days and never get any response after so many follow ups. Dr Tamez is so knowledgeable and helpful and truly amazing but I really wish he would change his staff. This has been going on for the 3 years I’ve been seeing him and it has not gotten any better. Especially when things are urgent (such as after surgery and I need to speak with the doctor) they do not treat anything with urgency. It’s very disappointing considering this is healthcare and post-surgery things can be serious. Their voicemail says any voicemails that are left before 4pm will be called back the same day. This has never been the case for me in the 3 years I’ve been going. I usually have to call everyday for a week and send 2-6 emails to hear back. At one point I was getting so concerned with my surgery recovery, and no one had been returning my calls or emails for weeks that I went into the office and sat in the front office until someone could speak to me. I really wish Dr Tamez would get new staff.

My sinuses are worse after my dealings with this doctor. I would not send a friend to him.

Very knowledgeable and very direct. He went on a tangent about how the US is the least healthy nation despite spending the most on healthcare. It was kind of unrelated at times, but still very informative and interesting.

This office has continuously attempted to bill my insurance for a procedure that apparently took place for another patient, but instead of verifying THEIR insurance, they just billed mine. I have not been a patient in almost 5 years, yet, their most recent attempt to bill my insurance took place in January of this year, and prior to that was September of 21. I have called them, and they just don't listen. I have fought the charge 6 times on my insurance, and they keep insisting it is a legitimate charge, when my insurance kicks it back to them. They were horrible when I went in, 5 years ago, only wanted to give me as many prescriptions as possible for stuff that wasn't necessary. Thought the other comment was just some crazy person trying to make the doctor look bad… but they told the truth. We went in wanting to know about why my mother is constantly losing her voice and has hearing loss… we ended up getting a lecture from the doctor about how two of his family members were killed at a hospital because they had covid, how Dr Fauci is poisoning the food supply for over 40 years, and he told us he wants us to buy a book made by RFL Jr. We came here to find out what’s wrong with my mother, not to be lectured about your personal beliefs which we do not care about. Said he didn’t want to bring up politics but Dr Fauci has been in charge of our food supply for 40 years (huh?) which has led to lots of inflammation from food and RFK jr’s book has really opened his eyes (I thought he said JFK jr but he’s dead so I assume he said RFK jr). I won’t be returning.

So very happy and grateful for Dr. Tamez doing my nasal surgery, as well as each and everyone of his staff members. My experience from front office greetings and kindness, the staff in the patient room, the check desk, every single person is so nice and professional. I’ve never been to such a nice and professional doctors office. Except for the office of my primary care doctor. Thank you for everything breathe on!??

I was nervous the entire time. Dr. Tamez and staff assured me everything was going to be okay. I trusted them and the procedure went very well. I followed his advice for post procedure and I breathe great now! I swear I can hear better too. The billing staff was knowledgeable and very communicative, as well. Thank you Dr. Tamez and staff.

Professional and very courteous staff! Two friendly young ladies greeted me the moment I stepped in the door ??. Followed by Andrew ( FNP-C) who was thorough in explaining my diagnosis as well as reviewing future recommendations for treatment. His friendly demeanor needs to also be noted ??. Thank you ALL for making my first impression ( 10-8-2020) of Tejas Ear, Nose, & Throat a GOOD one!!!

This was my 1st time visiting the office. Everyone was so nice and professional. I think they all went to charm school! I'm so happy I found an ENT office near me. I will tell all my friends.

This isn't a direct review of Dr. Tamez but it does relate to his practice, Tejas ENT. I have only had my initial visit where I was scoped and provided meds and a f/u surgery consult was indicated. I haven't even met Dr. Tamez yet. My frustration is that is wasn't disclosed to me how difficult the scheduled appts and follow visits would be to get on the calendar. I guess it is great that his practice is so busy and that his services are in demand but, when you have an original appt and put on meds and have been told a f/u visit would occur in 4-6 weeks but, then you call and learn the EARLIEST available appt is 9 weeks out (this doesn't include the additional/possible 2+ months that would be needed to wait for a possible surgery), I find that very frustrating. Had that been known, I wouldn't have taken the first visit. Lesson learned and money lost....back to square one.

I couldn't have been more impressed with Dr. Tamez and his entire staff! I am so grateful for their kindness, attentiveness, and perseverance in finding out a solution! If you care about fixing the real problem and not just fixing the symptoms, I'd recommend Tejas ENT 10/10 times! :)

we came in for basic evaluations and were sent home with a complex array of sprays and antibiotics to try when there was no infection, snoring, apnea or any sign of breathing problems. I do not put my children on antibiotics unless there’s a good reason. Next The lady who checked us in and out was slow, rude and tried to cram a 5* review post down my throat before I had even finished checking out. His support staff are horrendous at their jobs. After noticing an omission on my child’s chart notes (1of the main reasons we came in!) I called and asked for a nurse. Had to leave a msg. Called back again and this time a rep transcribed my msg for a nurse to call me back. Now it’s been 2 days. I finally get a call back and the nurse didn’t even get a correct message and had no clue why I was calling. called to ask for records and images taken. The rep tells me that Elizabeth isn’t there but will call me back. NEVER CALLED. Be aware of patent care quality -it’s all volume here

I complained about waiting 2 hours with my infant to be seen and so he fired me as his patient.

Had a cauterization procedure, doctor was very gentle. His office was very friendly and helpful in getting me in before the July 4th holiday. Glad I found them!

The receptionists at the front were friendly. The nurse practitioner was very helpful and answered all my questions. She thoroughly explained the possible causes for my symptoms. Glad I decided to come to Tejas ENT!

Although my initial consultation was very informative and well conducted by a APN, I was very disappointed in the lack of response to a problem I developed. After starting 4 new meds, I developed vertigo. Called the office for assistance and never received a return phone call.

Dr. Tamez performed Sinus and Nose surgery with GREAT RESULTS. I'm 67 years old and I've had allergies since the age of 3. My allergies got worse with time, ended up in St David's ER. After 15 hrs, & 41/2 hrs of steroids, then dismissed me with a bunch of meds & a referral to Dr.Tamez. He ordered XRAYS & MRI and did a thorough exam. Outcome; After the 2nd week of the surgery I was able to breathe deeply and comfortably thorough my nose without any issues. I never breathed like that before!

Front desk was very helpful and friendly - Cristal and Jessica. Raquel was excellent in answering questions and providing a care plan that made sense!

I can’t express how much relief and knowledge I walked out with after my FIRST visit. I was so happy to know that my initial thought wasn’t the issue but something else and I was able to breathe fully for the first time in 38 years - my entire lifetime. The science behind and seeing firsthand through scope, I understood my issue and what can be done! I’m so grateful!

The staff (Crystal & Jessica) were very friendly, helpful and courteous. I saw Jennifer Barns and she was very thorough. She has a great attitude and did not make me feel rushed. She took the time to explain everything in great detail to me. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an ENT.

Absolutely yes! Staff is great. They care. Dr. Takes us interested in the individual’s overall health and takes the time to explain things.

Have seen several ENTs, however Tejas ENT, the staff, and Dr. Tamez have really put together great action plans and have been following through. After years of spinning in the same circle with no resolution to breathing issues, Tejas ENT is really pulling through and making great things happen!

Absolutely horrible. I I’ve been a patient for close to a decade... over that course of time it seems like they have never been able to figure out how to run a business and see patients on time. I made the mistake of booking an appt hoping they had fixed these issues but obviously not, they estimated I could be called back 10-15 minutes late and would not be seen until 30-45 mins after my appt time. I communicated my frustrations to the office manager there was no accountability, just excuses.

The service I received was outstanding from the beginning to end of the visit. The staff is courteous, attentive and professional. The beautifully decorated office is clean and inviting. Jessica greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome. Niki was pleasant and took the time to make sure I had the correct paperwork and summary of my visit before I left the office. Dr. Tamez addressed me in a professional and friendly manner. He took the time to thoroughly explain & evaluate my condition.

Everyone was very friendly. Dr. Tamez was very thorough.

Turner out to be an excellent choice for my father who’s hearing was very impaired. Having a doctor and audiologist in the same practice was very convenient. Staff very helpful in dealing with my parents coming from out of town. Highly recommend. Rebecca at the front desk was very helpful.

For the first time in years I actually feel like someone is taking my inner ear pain seriously. The entire staff is great.

I took my daughter to Dr. Tamez for tongue thrusting. From the minute he walked into the exam room, I was impressed. I've been to many doctors over the years, but none have made the impression that I got from Dr. Tamez. His staff is knowledgeable, they have amazing communication, they are positive and friendly. Extremely impressed with how thorough and professional my exam was in Dr. Tamez' office.

Dr. Tamez and his staff were very personable, professional, and accommodating in every regard. They were able to work me in on very short notice. I can honestly say my first visit may have been the best overall experience I've ever had at a doctor's office.

I have personally been seeing Dr Tamez for 10 years now. I have chronic sinus and severe ear issues. Over the years he has patiently worked with me and offered a myriad of solutions for me to try. He is not the type of doctor to immediately jump to surgery to fix but views issues of the ears, nose and throat from a whole body perspective. He will suggest ideas and allow you to pick the one that best suits what you are comfortable with and if that doesn't work then he looks for other alternatives

I had a great experience here getting my sinuses adjusted. I have always had trouble breathing through my nose during exercise and sleep. Went to see Dr Tamez and he explained the situation, and recommended a course of action we could take right away. Excellent staff and well equipped office. I have never breathed better.

Great Experience, Dr. Tamez was very interactive and respectful with both of my children. Surgery went smooth with great end results for both of them. The medical care received IS 5 STAR for sure! The four star rating is only due to the difficulty in getting through to the office, majority of the time having to leave message with answering service. Leave message early in the morning, response much later in the day.
