Dr. Norman Nenghong Ge

I took my wife to Dr. Ge's office for a simple consultation as she was experiencing severe discomfort in her ear. After examining her ear, he found that there was nothing wrong with it and he said, I quote, "Sorry, I can't help you!" But, he somehow managed to find 'cotton fibers' in her other nonproblematic ear, even though my wife never put anything in her ears including cotton swabs. We were disappointed that he couldn't help us with what we came for and not really sure what to say when he mentioned something about the other ear. Without my wife or me consenting, he proceeded to do the ear cleaning on the nonproblematic ear. The whole consultation + ear cleaning was 3 minutes at best. The bill? About $120 in total incl. copay for a procedure that we didn't ask for or needed. The gold part is, the procedure is written as 'FOREIGN BODY REMOVAL from the ear without general anesthesia.' Pretty dramatic stuff for a simple ear cleaning that we didn't come in for. After disputing the bill over many calls, Dr. Ge himself confirmed that he cannot charge any less for this service that he graciously did for us without our consent for 3 minutes. Thank you, Dr. Ge. He also claimed to have given us a 'generous discount' which he cannot give anymore of. This, by the way, makes no sense as he has full control of the balance being paid to his office. His employees may misinform you that it has to deal with insurance, but no, that balance goes 100% to him. Please keep this in mind if they try to lie to you. I'm not sure why Dr. Ge is so money-hungry considering how established he is as a doctor. But if you've read the other reviews, this is definitely not the first time and our case isn't even the worst one. For anyone reading this, please DO NOT go visit Dr. Ge for anything other than cosmetic plastic surgery. He seems to be more of a grifter than a doctor. Please do not come to Dr. Ge’s office. I came in for a ear consultation because my left ear was making noise that didn’t seem to go away for months so I took a visit to Dr. Ge’s office hoping he could help me resolve the issue but instead he told me, “ I can’t help you. I don’t know. I can’t help you” and I was too stunned to speak afterwards. Never in my life have I heard those words out of a doctor before. After him saying that, he proceeded to check my right ear and saw that there was cotton fibers when I don’t use q-tips for my ears and without my consent, proceeded to do an ear cleaning (which was later billed as 'removal of FOREIGN objects). After about 4 months, I got my bill from my visit and it was a whopping $120 (including copay) for something Dr. Ge told me he couldn’t help me with…I was too stunned to speak…again. Great patient care.

Been in contact with this office trying to get the Dr to fill a medication to help resolve an issue that was discovered at my last appointment(s). Have been put off and put off with promises of resolve, but nothing. Today, a week later, I reached out to my Healthcare Provider and filed a complaint. Dr. is professional when in his office, but don't try to get in contact with him or do anything in follow up after you leave their offices! This was at the Airport Plaza office. I have been seeing Dr. Ge twice in past two years and just visited him yesterday again. He is very thorough and caring, explaining my condition and answering my questions in detail. I also found the front staff is pleasant and helpful.

I have seen Dr. Ge multiple times now in a short span for ear problems. He is great. It has been always easy to get in to see him, even with short notice they fit me in. He even took the time to call my insurance company after they denied a mri to get it approved so I did not have to pay out of pocket. He called to let me know and asked how I was feeling. I have been going to Dr. Ge for years and have found him to be extremely competent and caring.

This clinic charge $150 if the deductible amount is not meet. this is very strange

The office staff was very friendly and helpful. They squeezed an appointment in for me as soon as they could. I did have to pay $150 as I saw the reviews before I went in. Fortunately before I went in, they checked my insurance and called to let me know my benefits and explained why when I asked. They said a deductible is a specified amount of money that the insured must pay out of pocket before an insurance company will pay a claim. They told me they will bill the insurance and subtract the $150 from the costs if it seems that I owe any amount. They also reassured me that they will refund any amount if I overpaid. So that may be a con to coming in. However, the doctor was great. After filling out the paperwork, the office staff seated me right away. The doctor was very nice and explained everything to me. He even gave me an informational packet regarding acid reflux I have and the recommended diet I need to reduce the symptoms. Saw him for a quote on surgery, overly expensive, also very expensive for a simple visit. Felt like he was trying to get money out of me.

Great doctor, treats patients like his own family.

The front staff is poorly trained and unprofessional. Seems like a bunch of high school kids hired to do a job that they're not qualified to do. Numerous billing errors and inconsistent fees presented. Doctor is nice but poor communication with his patients. Not a very good experience.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ge since 2012 and I am so happy that I found a doctor I can completely trust with my well being and care. I would recommend him to anyone looking for transparency, talent and integrity
