Dr. (and I use the term loosely), Gerondale prescribed a medication for acid reflux back in 2008. The generic form of Reglan ( a neuroleptic drug ) called Metoclopramide. He did not warn me of the devastating side affects and the fact that the drug was NOT to be used over 12 weeks as warned by the FDA resulting in a black box warning on the drug in 2009. I was left on it for 18 mos. I presented signs of Tardive Diskinesea and Akathisia, he insisted that the drug would not cause these problems and that I just had anxiety for whatever reason. He later did some research and admitted that the drug had problems but in my case it was just generalized anxiety and actually cursed at me for insinuating that he was covering his butt and would not except responsibility. I have never seen him since and have been suffering with disabling neurological issues ever since. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this big pharma quack, he will ruin your life as he has done mine. Bill, Veteran USN.
