Dr. Khanna operated on my back and he has given me my life back. I was incapacitated with nerve pain and after a long surgery and rehab I have 0 nerve pain. He is the best and I highly recommend him. I thank you Dr. Khanna and my family thanks you.

After a year of “pain management” that consisted of spinal injections and physical therapy which failed to relieve John of terrible back pain, we sought the advice of Dr. Khanna, a spine surgeon in Munster. When we met with Dr. Khanna for the first time he marveled that John could walk at all after reviewing his x-rays, and was confident that spinal decompression surgery to relieve the crushed nerves in his spine, along with insertion of a “coflex” device into his spine to provide stability and to correct his posture, was in order. It became impossible for John to walk short distances without significant pain so, for the five months leading up to the surgery date, while we appealed Medicare’s decision John was forced to use a wheelchair. The appeals to Medicare took months, and ultimately Medicare disallowed the insertion of the coflex device. Decompression surgery proceeded on October 27, 2022, without the coflex implant. We are happy to report that John’s relief after surgery was immediate, and that after a short recovery period and a few weeks of physical therapy he was able to dispense with the wheelchair and is now pain free. John works out at the gym twice a week to strengthen his core and we are so thankful for what Dr. Khanna did and for the quality of life that John has regained. We would recommend Dr. Khanna to anyone who is experiencing significant back pain and cannot thank him and his excellent staff enough for their dedication, expertise and kindness through this whole process. Ten years ago I went to Dr. Khanna, about two bulging disc in my neck, that were pressing on my spinal chord. Dr. Khanna told me that the discs needed to be removed. At that time I wasn’t ready to do the surgery. He never pressured me to have the surgery. I finally was tired of dealing with the pain and went back to Dr. Khanna. He explained everything that needed to be done. He answered all of my questions and I never felt rushed. He removed the two disc, opened up the spacing of the vertebraes, inserted cadaver bone, and put a plate and four screws on each vertebrae to keep things in place. I was concerned with my range of motion and he told me it will probably be better after the surgery, which it is. I am so satisfied with the surgery that I wish I did it ten years ago. Dr Khanna is absolutely the best spine surgeon in the region. I have been suffering from cervical nerve pain and symptoms for over 2 years. After one x-ray and a MRI, Dr Khanna diagnosed and took the time to explain to me "why" my previous medical services weren't working. He offered me two options - disc replacement or fusion. Initially I opted for fusion, but when I changed my mind two weeks prior to surgery, the whole staff worked to make the change happen! The staff, including Denise and Mike, are extremely friendly, competent and kept me informed throughout the planning. I’m going to try and put this as short and sweet and as brief as possible. I feel so blessed to have had him as my surgeon . I limped around in pain for couple of years with bulging disc’s in my lower back pressing on several nerves. I was reluctant to have any type of surgery on my spine with so many horror stories I had heard through the years. After meeting with Dr Khanna he assured me that he could help me and I believe he doesn’t do any surgery unless he’s feels that he can help you. Not only is he a brilliant surgeon he seems to genuinely care. I was walking around just hours after my surgery with no more pain in my legs for the first time in over two years. After taking a fall in 2021, my father (89 years old) broke his neck and was put under the immediate care of Dr. Nitin Khanna. I had a spinal fusion, from l5-s1. Beforehand, I couldn’t walk, sit, or function without excruciating pain. My surgery was December 14th. Almost two months later and the pain is almost non existent. The moment I woke up from surgery the pain I had was gone. I only had the normal soreness and pain of being cut open. I’m only 28 and I thought my life was over before the surgery. I was in what seemed like a minor accident. I was sent to different hospital who released me. I was sent for a 2nd opinion to Dr. Khanna of the Orthopedic specialists clinic in Munster, IN. Dr. Khanna didnt just look at me. He checked me out, ran tests and found the problem that had caused my hands to go numb, and source of my pain. I couldn't drive for 3 months. I had to have surgery. I thank God for the care he gave me. My condition left untreated may/would have disabled me. He eased my fears of fixing my spine through my throat as I have keloidal skin, and was terrified of being completely maimed. I am grateful that he heard my concern and did everything he could to minimize the scarring. His spirit is so pure and unassuming I can't help but thank God for giving him the talent and patience to handle such a complex surgery. For 2 years, my husband Jim barely existed. He was in constant pain and would go to bed by 6:30 or 7pm because he couldn't stand the pain anymore. We didn't socialize much because it was difficult for him to be in public while in constant pain. He wasn't walking other than shuffling from room to room in the house. He had stopped driving because it hurt to turn to the side to look for traffic while backing up or turning corners. Jim tried physical therapy and steroid back injections but neither provided any relief. Dr. Khanna performed a MAS-PLIF (lumbar fusion) on Jim's L4 and L5 on April 22nd. The pain relief was INSTANT. Jim came home the next day and has begun living life again. He did some physical therapy and continues his exercises at home, including walking on a treadmill --WITHOUT PAIN. He is driving again and recently did some necessary touch up painting on our house. We are both so glad that we found Dr. Khanna and were instantly comfortable with him. I had Kyphoplasty June 10, 2021. It is now two weeks after surgery. I feel great! Immediately after surgery no more Spasms. Dr. Khanna tells you exactly what will happen in surgery. Piece of cake. I am a 38 year old mother of two small boys. When I was told I needed to have a fusion I was terrified. Everyone I had spoken to was against the idea, if it were to come up. I was in Debilitating pain for over three months. I felt like I had hit a brick wall. Pills, x-rays, MRIs and physical therapy and nothing. Nothing touched my pain. It was constant. I could barley get out of bed for work, was exhausted from the lack of sleep and unable to play with my boys or hold a conversation with my poor husband. I cannot thank Dr Khanna and his team enough for what he has done for me. I came to dr Khanna with a herniated disc and a lumbar that had came out of alignment. Dr. Khanna performed a decompression and a fusion to repair. Before my surgery I had sciatica pain in both legs and back. The pain was so bad just going to the grocery store was a big ordeal for me. Every time I sat down my right leg would just go numb. After my surgery and I mean a few hours after all that pain was gone and is still gone. There was some post operation pain but that wasn’t too bad at all, I was expecting worse. Dr Khanna and his team have given me my life back, I will be returning to work as a union carpenter pretty soon thanks to him and his team. I was in a head on accident with an uninsured driver in 2010. I was in so much chest pain from the airbag, I didn't realize my neck was damaged. Looking for a specialist working with degenerative arthritis I came across Dr. Khanna's name. I was expecting to find relief for the acute pain I was in, but what I received was more than I could of hoped for. Dr. Khanna listened and answered all my questions and concerns. He defined each of the options that were available, while letting me be comfortable in the decisions I made. There was no rush to surgery as I had been scared into surgery once before. When surgery was the only option left, and I had to go it alone because of Covid protocol, Dr. Khanna not only talked to my husband, but to each of my sons. The care and compassion did not stop after surgery, he has an awesome staff, especially his nurse Denise. I had to call because of post surgical pain and Denise answered every question, making sure that I received the medication I needed. She was available day or night. Neck surgery had me very worried not only the fact that it is surgery on my neck but I also worried about the healing after the surgery. To my surprise it was not as painful as I feared I also felt amazingly better and was able to move my head without pain for the first time in a very long time. Dr. Khanna operated on my back to fix a bad disk. he removed the disk and replaced it with a spacer and titanium hardware. Before the operation, I had pain in my left leg and had a hard time walking. After the operation I had absolutely no pain at all, and can now walk without any discomfort. I am sincerely grateful to Dr. Khanna and his fantastic staff.

Before surgery I was in constant pain from lower back all the way to my toes. I woke up in recovery and all my chronic pain was gone like with a magic wand. He gets to know you and your symptoms before making any suggestions, and unlike most surgeons who I have encountered his initial reaction isn’t to jump into a surgery. I was in pain for 7 years. After years of injections and 1 surgery from 3 different doctors. I thank God I met Dr. Nitin Khanna! I told him my about my miserable pain some days can't sleep or stand. He assured me with such confidence after my MRI that he would be able to relieve me from the pain I was having. As one can imagine I said to myself I heard this before. I work in Pain Management for about 12 years my mom suddenly has severe pain were I had to take her to the emergency room several times and several different Doctors to try to get her out of pain. Last time when we were in the emergency room they recommeded dr Khanna for a surgical consultation. I called his office that day to schedule my mom an appointment the front desk girl was the first person willing to help me she didnt even know me and she even called me back that day to try to help my mom his nurses are incredible they worked with me an my mother everystep of the way until her follow up appointment from surgery. His office staff is wnderful. Dr Khana fit my mother in surgery that week after seeing him he explained her MRI to us so we could understand explained the surgery in depth.
