Dr Murugavel is the best most caring doctor

Had Dr. Nirmala during a hospital stay. She needs better bedside manners. She asked me why I was sleeping at 10 am in the morning in a hospital and she insisted (her years of experience--Her words) that she knows that when a person is cold or tired after eating. It must be diabetes but it was not but my thyroids acting up. She insisted I was wrong because she had years experience. Her attitude is horrible with patients. Dr Murugavel is great! She is an excellent and thorough doctor, as well as being kind, compassionate and friendly. Stephanie, her nurse practitioner is wonderful, too!

I was referred to Dr. Murugavel by a trusted friend. My first appointment was for the intent of a meet and greet for each other. After going through chart, she made it very apparent that she was concerned for me. My color was off as well as other visible signs that something was wrong. She changed appointment IMMEDIATELY to a physical, blood draw, and EKG. When results came back the next day, she personally called me to tell me I needed to get to the ER for admission for resolve my issue. She was not only informative, she was kind, friendly, and to the point. Very attentive to my needs then and during my follow up. Highly recommended!!! I have been a patient for I think over 25 years now! I am so thankful I have her as my doctor! I appreciate a doctor who lets her patients talk and tell her what is going on!

Showed up as a “new patient” . The moment I walked in It was apparent they did not want new patients. Instead of a simple and cordial hello, I was met with attitude and condescending remarks. Not somewhere I want healthcare. Very awkward and disappointing experience. I asked for my paperwork back, to cancel my appointment, and then went on my way. My primary care doctor retired after 17 years. I needed a new primary care doctor. After 6 different appointments with different doctors, I chose Dr. Murugavel. She is very thorough & knowledgeable, friendly & professional. She takes her time & listens, not a ten minute exam. I never feel rushed, she doesn't over medicate & provides options with follow up. I like that she has her nurses & staff follow up after each appointment / tests with the results. Her entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Dr. Muragavel is very opinionated . She doesn't listen. I am also a medical professional and she is more concerned about proving doctors are better practitioners than other health care providers. She is very old school and easily intimidated by providers who are younger than her with new, fresh ideas. She feels she has to question them regarding their education and experience in an attempt to make them feel inferior however, it is only out of her own insecurity. She could learn many things if she were more accepting and supportive of others.

Doc didn't listen to what I had to say. Joint pain isolated to one joint. She kept telling me it's from diet soda. I explained that I don't drink soda, let alone diet. Orthopedic doc showed bone on bone and I ended up with a replacement. Afterward, I'm great and back to normal. Doc also disclosed one parents medical issue to me during my own personal appointment. Parent was also a patient and not present at the time.
