I was surprised to learn that I had been removed from her patient list because I did not have an appointment during the covid years. I was not sick and would not risk entering the office. When I tried to get a new appointment, I was told I'd have to wait for a patient reinstatement review . I left phone messages weekly for 7 weeks and NEVER got a call back. The answering machine only said call 911 or leave a message. After 3 onsite visits to the office with no help from the office staff, I finally requested a copy of all of my records while I was at the office.

A friend of mine with diabetes and short term memory loss until recently attended this physician.. When he asked him for a referral to an endocrinologist he told him he did not need that referral even though the patient is on LT diabetes meds as well as insulin injections and is experiencing a myriad of other problems due to diabetes. Also the patient asked about treatment as in ketamine or other treatments for his memory loss..he was told by Dr unless he was depressed or sleepless he did not need to be treated for memory loss?? I was waiting for this patient in parking lot recently as i am his transportation as well as healthcare advocate..he arrived at 130 in the afternoon and was wrong about his appt date it had been day before..unbeknowst to me instead of rescheduling the 71yo diabetic patient with extensive cardiac surgery history for another day provider dec8ded it was a good idea to have him sit and wait 3 hours to be seen..i called several times not being advised that this was the situation i was concerned after an hour why he did not come out..hes usually only there for 15-20 mins..i eas then advised about his appt. Being the day before .. I told them that i am disabled person waiting in lot for him and its 97o will he be long? No hes about to see dr now. An hour later i call back again and explain im over heated, im disabled, car is overheating and unable to reach my walker to get in as he left it in back of car for me. They said he couldnt be disturbed he was in being seen by Dr. I waited another hour and called...they told me once more he was in with Dr. While im looking at Dr setting outside in his black suv parked on the sidewalk on his phone for quite sometime...my point isnt that he should not have been on phone..my point is the office should have been honest with me..instead of telling me as each hour passes that he will be right out. If the will not be honest about every day occurances and problems how in the world can we expect honesty with the important issues?? All of this considered i advised him that we could find someone more considerate of others and more honest. Also cancelled my appt. As he cancelled his for i am not interested in being treated in this fashion either and see no positive medical future there for myself or my friend. I dont understand making him stay so long instead of r/s him . i dont understand why someone with so many complications due to diabetes does not need an endocrinologist. I dont understand why a 71 yo major heart surgery recipient with diabetes and memory loss complications was caused to wait 3hrs and 45min all told to be seen. It feels like tremendous dis respect of the patient and disregard of their needs. Also there is a large area of what appears to be diarrhea on cement slab of the office under the awning on the NW side of building adjacent to Drs pvt entrance that was there 9n his last visit and remains there yesterday...no thank you..we will pass. Dr is caring & thorough. All staff in her office are amazing!

They don't communicate at all. I was told to come back in 6 months for bloodwork, charged, and sent out the door. Come back 6 months later just to be told I should've already had my bloodwork done elsewhere. I was never told this by anyone. But I show up for my January appointment just to be told I shouldve had it done already, and she was just going to go over the results with me. Well that couldn't be done, because I didn't know. So the doctor had nothing to do, yet she still charged my $40. For doing literally nothing. I said I was going to switch doctors because I wasn't happy with the office not communicating with me about this, and then still charging me for a visit, and the Doctor had the nerve to say "yes I know you've said that already, I get it." Unbelievable. I used to actually be happy with this place. I should've known they're in Brandenton for a reason. They don't communicate at all. After waiting for 2 1/2 hrs in a small cold room, she came in and said how are you? I said awful, I am cold, hungry, tired, my back hurts and I want to cry! I have been here waiting for you in this room for almost three hours, I don’t mean to be difficult, but this is not good. She said I was a difficult patient, this is not the first time you have complained, you think I should spend all my time with you and not anyone else, you complain a lot!! Well I always have to wait at least an 1 1/2 and I have complained twice before in the almost three years I’ve been going there! Also she had me down as having Hypertension, which I have never had, when I asked her, she said I had to have told her that, or it would not be in my record! NEVER told her that. I have always had low blood pressure and her office checks it every visit. You can never talk to a,person, if you call and need to see her, you have to leave a message, no one calls. Forget about prescriptions! Five calls and maybe..I quit

I changed health plans and needed to change doctors. Dr. Nilsa Leiva was HIGHLY recommended. I waited for the first available new patient appointment on a Thursday, did everything I needed to on my end. My meeting with Dr. Leiva seemed to go well, she was thorough, pleasant and we seemed to work well together. Several referrals came through the next day but a prescription for anti-biotics, badly needed was not sent to my pharmacy on Friday. The pharmacy called the office left a message. Nothing over the weekend. Monday nothing at the pharmacy, they called and left a message, I called the practice when I returned home. The person at the appointment desk assured me she was tracking down the Dr. to get this done. Called the pharmacy later that evening.............NOTHING. Left a message for the practice to call me FIRST THING in the AM, no call. Checked with the pharmacy again, still nothing. Going to another practice. TOTAL AND UTTER INCOMPETANCE WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG. I have called the practice to let them know I am severing our patient/Doctor relationship and got a maybe since apology, but the prescription that I need badly is still totally MIA. I would definitely not recommend this practice to anyone.

My wife and I liked Dr Levia. We were very unhappy getting test results from her office staff.

I love her a wonderful doctor, however getting through to her staff to help you is a serious problem . They lie to you just to get you off the phone . It is the worst front office I have ever dealt with in a medical environment. If you can see the doctor and what that means is they won’t even give you an appointment. Seriously, I don’t want to find another doctor however I just am at my ropes end . Trying to figure out what to do. I have heard it from the pharmacy as well when I call them for my script and it’s not been called in when the doctors office tells you yes it was . They need someone to organize their staff so badly . Please , doctor Nilsa please try to fix your issues so I don’t have to find another doctor. I have changed my insurance to cut out some of the problems .

Dr. Nilsa Leiva is very professional and patient. She listens when you speak and makes sure your visit is complete before you leave. She's been my doctor for 13 years and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Nilsa is the best doctor I have ever had. She's the only one where I don't feel like I have to talk as fast as I can because there's one leg out the door to the next patient. She patiently listens to whatever you want to tell her or ask her. If I ever have to wait a bit to begin my appointment, I don't mind because I know she's giving someone else the same care and consideration that she gives me. She is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor, and especially great for those of us who are older, with our many aches, pains, and ailments. Dr.Nilsa Leiva is an outstanding doctor,you never feel as if you're being rush or hurried out she has been my doctor for 8 years she always ask before you leave if you have any questions quality care at its best.

Dr. Levia found and treated a condition that had bee with me for some time. She is careing, always willing to tak time to listen and always there when you need her. Very skillful.

Dr, Lieva listens and discusses my concerns. I feel she has true concerns about my health. She answers my questions and discusses any problem I may have. She assures me about my state of health and encourages me to discuss my questions.

Dr. Nilsa Leiva has been my primary care Physician for MANY years. Appointments have always been available whenever needed. Am 81 years of age. Under her care, the only medication needed is B12 shots once a month. And 2 D3 vitamins twice weekly. She cares for each and every patient as if family member. Dr. Nilsa is a gifted diagnostician. I have recommended her to several friends who are now her patients.

I switched my insurance so I could go to her. I wouldn't trust my health care with anyone but her. I have never met a more caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental doctor. She is by far the best doctor I have ever seen.

My experience is with Dr. Lloyd Leiva. My appointment was on time, very little waiting. The nurses and support staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Dr. Lloyd is very competent and well aware of my needs and overall heath.

Dr. Nilsa Leiva suspected that I have Sjogren's Syndrome, sent me to be tested which showed that I do have it. One of the aspects of Sjogren's is that it is difficult to diagnose, but thanks to her I was diagnosed and am receiving treatment for it.

Friendly, caring, attentive. Spends as much time as you need. Goes over your question list and lab work. Gives rationale for all decisions on treatment. Is reassuring.

Dr. Nilsa is a very compassionate and caring person. I have been a patient of hers since 2013. I have felt very comfortable with Dr. Nilsa Leiva.

I have been with Dr. Leiva for a lot of years. I would hate to move away or have her move -- I don't want any other Dr.

She is a very caring, friendly, and knowledgeable doctor. I have moved up to North Florida for my main residence, but I still go back to Bradenton to see Dr. Leiva for my medical service. I feel very confident having her as my doctor.

If you want continuity of care, go elsewhere. Dr. Leiva dropped my mom as a patient after my dad was hospitalized, her husband saw him in the hospital, wrote order for transfer of care to a rehab facility & then denied knowing he was at rehab. Both the facility & I called the doctor's office leaving a message about his transfer & requested a call back & neither Dr. Lloyd nor Dr. Nilsa returned the call. Dr. Lloyd also dropped my dad, blaming the facility & my daughter.

Dr. Nilsa Leiva is the best doctor I have ever had in my 72 years. She listens, she asks questions, and she cares. She has a way of getting the patient to tell her things they'd rather not, and she is non-judgmental. Every other doctor I've had since I was an adult had one flaw -- they always seemed to have one foot out the door from the time I walked in. I felt like I had to talk fast if I wanted to say anything because he was about to leave. You'll never feel this with Dr. Nilsa Leiva.

I am from Bradenton and have had a variety of doctors due to insurance changes or lack of bedside manner. I finally found Dr. N. Leiva, she is one of the best doctors I have ever had. Knowledgeable and very attentive to patients needs.
