Careless, negligent, caused direct harm due to his medical treatment . His medical instructions caused infection, pain, delayed healing, excessive scarring. Refused to take responsibility for his actions, refused to explaing why he gave me such wrong instructions. He is sleepwalking through his practice and completely ignores reality and the evidence of his own eyes to give antithetical medical treatment that belies common sense. His excuse was it was the standard instructions, regardless of the fact it would be impossible and harmful to follow in this case. It was like he just stamped out a fire and then tells the patient to throw gasoline on it, although it makes no sense and would make things worse. When confronted, he said"I'm sorry YOU FEEL that way." I retorted that it was about the fact of his medical negligence, not about feelings. When pressed for an explanation, he actually gave me the silent treatment and refused to answer like a sullen teenager. Careless, negligent, refused to take responsibility for his totally wrong and harmful aftercare instructions resulting in infection, delayed healing, larger scar, more time and money to consult others due to his mistake. He ignored reality and his own eyes to give me instructions that don't make sense and actively harmed me. Standard protocol takes precedence over common sense and reality when dispensing medical advice. His advice was akin to him stamping out a fire and then giving you instructions to pour gasoline on it. Didn't blink an eye as he issued instructions that would make things much worse. "I'm sorry you feel that way" is his idea of responsibility. I retorted it's not about feelings, but the fact he was negligent. When pressed for an explanation for his carelessness, he acted like a sullen teen and gave me the silent treatment! Worst of the worst, careless on autopilot, childish, cowardly, and a bad doctor that directly caused harm to health by his negligence. AVOID!

While Dr Compton was professionsl and courteous, there is a serious problem with how they bill. On our health plan an officevisit to a specialist is with a 30$ copay. This clinic submits its bill as two separate bills: one for the physician, one for the facility. They bill an "office visit" as an "outpatient proceedure" resulting in the bill being applied towards deductible. This makes the patient liable for hundreds of dollars just to get a 15 minute consultation. They claim that signing consent for teatment allows them to charge any way they like, tough luck. Dr. Compton came across to me as someone who is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field of dermatology and is one of those seemingly "far and few between" medical professionals who actually listens to and addresses his patients' concerns and does not make his patients feel rushed. Wonderful experience with every person I interacted with in this office: The Reception staff was friendly and organized. Nurse Laura-caring & knowledgeable with great interpersonal skills; and Dr. Compton (all the above) PLUS compassionate, thorough and informative.
