Dr. Nia Danielle Banks

I wanted to be nice and give 2 stars. This office never answers their phone for Dr. Nia Banks. I don't know if it is because they see an out of state phone number or what.

Doing research to find a good surgeon can be frustrating enough especially when you have to pay a $200 consult fee. I selected Dr. Banks bc I wanted an AA woman to perform my procedure. there were red flags ​from the very beginning. I explained to the patient care coordinator that I wanted to keep my ethnic nose with some changes. When I asked to see pics of the Dr's work I was told by Lyz, she does not show pics, from my understanding, to prevent patient bias. I may not like the pics. I still scheduled the $200 consult thinking I would get the opportunity to discuss what i wanted. I completed the paperwork online and was made to complete more paperwork when I arrived. I was a few mins late but filling out more of the same paperwork did not help. I was rushed through my appointment and Dr. Banks was not at all personable. When I left the consult I did not feel confident in her ability but felt she was very capable. I also was not comfortable with her bedside manner and did not feel she was attentive. Fast forward to the oreop appt. (Yes, I decided to move forward with Dr. Banks) during my preop Dr Banks seemed impatient with my questions and i found her somewhat condescending. She spoke Dr jargon when explaining the procedure and seemed impatient when I asked follow up questions. Also, note they tried to make me fill out more of the same pprwork on the day of my preop until I said something. Fast forward to the day of my procedure, my covid test was not ready (nor their fault) so I had to reschedule. But wait, next appt won't be for months bc the facility where Dr Banks does her procedures is closing and her last day was the day of my scheduled procedure. She has to find another facility to work out of. Needless to say, i was shocked by the lack of transparency and not being told this information before hand. Dr Banks offered to refund my money bc she wanted to wait until she was comfortable with the new facility before performing my type of procedure. She will be doing lyposuctions though. now...I don't even know where to begin with the office staff at the Lanham office particularly. Kathy is interesting to say the very least. Due to incompetent front desk staff, lack of transparency and responsiveness, inconsistent info, the Drs impatience, poor bedside manner and money driven attitude, I would not recommend. Would give minus stars if I could!!! They tell lies to customers in order to secure paid appointments with a spa technician, instead of the Surgeon herself. How disgusting and low! When I attended attend the appointment, I was asked to pay more money to have a consultation with the surgeon. What a disgrace to the cosmetic surgery industry. **BUYER BEWARE **If I could give negative 50 stars,then I would. I only went to Dr. Banks because she was close to my home (bad idea). If I had read the reviews prior to my surgery, I would not be in this predicament, but I digress. The whole surgery was a waste of money as I have seen absolutely NO results (notwithstanding swelling), in fact my body is now deformed. She clearly did not take enough (or ANY) fat and did a skin tightening that looked like my 3 year old granddaughter performed the surgery. I should have run in the opposite direction during consultation when she admitted she was not capable of doing my thighs. To be frank, I am not your typical naive patient that can be sold a pipe dream. This is not my first rodeo,I am well-versed in plastic surgeon as I had perfection in 2019 by a stellar surgeon, but inadvertently choose location over competency (makes Georgetown not seem so far in retrospect)! So in regards to Dr Banks' condescending response to my concerns, I offer the following rebuttal, " NO its not the swelling, why there is no noticeable difference, its your lack of skills why my body is a botched mess!" I now have to do major damage control to try to save my beautiful figure that is now mauled. Hopefully my lymphatic drainage massages and corrective work by my real surgeon can at least allow me to leave my home, without embarrassment from the permanent scars (mental and physical) and disfigurement. So NO, I am not coming back for follow-ups. If I took my car to the shop for an oil change and instead they seized my engine, would I bring it back for them to do more damage?? That would be insane. My procedure with Dr. Banks was above and beyond my expectations. She's professional and passionate about her patients concerns. She made me feel very comfortable with my surgery decisions. DO NOT go here. Very unprofessional from the start but by the reviews, I apparently was saved. Had a virtual appointment. The receptionist, unsure his name, spelled my email completely wrong despite having spelt it for him. He wasn’t even close. I discovered this after I called him back when I hadn’t received the confirmation email. But even after I corrected him a second time, I still did not receive an email, so I called again and asked when I would receive it. He simply said they’ll contact me around the appointment time. I asked whether by call or email. He sounded like he was making up the answer (like he had made up the spelling of my email) and said both. Appointment time rolls around, no call, no email. I call back and am hung up on. I call again, and he leaves me on hold for maybe 10 minutes. He never came back. It is unfortunate I trusted this woman with my eyes: she is not a surgeon, she is a butcher. She performed the surgery around the end of 2018 while I had a strong inflammation going on and took almost 4 months to heal. The outcome was poor as she left "fat pockets" in the corner of my eyes. She performed a revision last July 2019 stating "it is just a puff, puff and all will be gone". Oh well, her incompetence and inability to perform an everyday procedure is unprecedented! Not only nothing was gone, but she left a deturpating burn on both corners of my eyes. When I did the follow-up visit on July 28, 2020 (due to COVID no intermediate follow-up was possible) she told me that all she did both times was skin removal and that she did not understand what I wanted to hear from her and unfortunately there was nothing she could do unless I had another surgery. She performed the surgery twice. The second time was an horrendous experience and it took about 3 weeks to heal.... she misused a laser and burned the surrounding skin and the cut of my left eye is more like a sharp number 7 mark) on top of created worse "fat pockets" that I never had to begin with. She is the most unethical person that rather than give up the opportunity of making money for a job she cannot perform, she went ahead and did it anyway knowing she could not perform. If in fact, someone must have mistakenly provided her with an MD or she must have slept throughout her made-up internship: she is not only absolutely incapable and incompetent but her bedside manners and communications style are unsuitable for a shoes-shiner. She should not perform any type of surgery on anyone. Stay away from this woman. I should have paid attention to what all the assistants that used to work for her in the past told me!! An incompetent, nasty, bitter, and dangerous woman. She should lose her license, and I might just act on it so that she will never get the chance to do it to anyone else

Dr. Banks was phenomenal and she has great bedside manner. My procedure went smoothly and I am 2 months out, and what she said would happen, happened. Can’t wait to go back for more services. Oh and I went to the Baltimore location and it is very posh!

This is just my experience , I had Juvederm injected in my lips and I was not satisfied , I’ve had Juvederm before by another Doctor and it wAs injected perfectly , but at the time I needed it done my Docyir wasn’t , Dr banks did not do a good job woth my lips and i have a wedding next week the Juvederm was not objected properly . I now have to make an appointment for my Dr to correct and she ensures me I will be fine before my wedding day , this is just my experience until Monday I have to stay in becuSe the way my lips turned out . I wish I could explain exCtky whAt I think is wrong with my lips but the best way I can say is I have 4 big bAll of Juvederm in my lips I think it should be massages out when she did it she just placed it there do the Juvederm is noticeable 4 large white areas . My experience with Dr. Banks has been phenomenal and life changing. I'm so glad she has helped me so much through this life journey. I am at home healing from my procedure and thinking that I have been so lucky to have such an amazing doctor.

A comfortable environment and understanding professionals. Dr. Banks is Awesome. That has been my experience period.

I received laser hair treatment. They have an updated machine which is very effective but be aware that Dr. Banks herself will not be doing the procedure. It will be a nurse or esthetician. My first few were with a nurse who was phenomenal but after that there was so much turn-over of staff. The newer people were not as competent. I had A Tummy Tuck and Lipo done by Dr. Banks a couple weeks ago. I was anticipating a lot of pain afterwards. To my surprise not much and the incision is beautiful. She changed my life.

I love Dr. Banks she is very friendly and professional. I was nervous about the procedure I was getting but she made me feel comfortable and had an open ear to any of my concerns. I WILL recommend her to anyone who wants top service. Thumbs up Dr. Banks you rock...

ia Banks- PS -Maryland This is the most unprofessional doctor that I have encountered. I am not sure why she became a PS except for financial purposes. I had a consultation with her and immediately felt that she was cold and arrogant. After the consult she promised to submit the eval to my Ins Co. to no avail. Suddenly, I received a bill which I called into question. She was so irate and did not give me a chance to get my question in. Instead she hung the phone up.

This doctors's license should be revoked. She is the arrogant and rude, no bedside manners,listening/people's skills.As a black woman she is very angry and cold. I scheduled a consult with her which I thought was free based on information recvd from her office. Months later I recvd a bill, minimal, decided to challenge the bill since she did not send the eval to my Ins Co. Tried to have a conversation with her, to no avail, she went off, could not get a word in then she hung the phone up..RUDE!!

This Doctor think she is too good for her patients. I went there with an issue she started to treat because the ER sent me to her. From the first day i felt i was not welcome. Why because i wasn't getting a cosmetic procedure with them. I was actually using my insurance. After a few visits and a procedure order by her, she told me to go see my physician which i did and my physician was surprised that she did that and sent me back to her. Fast forward..... Last visit, I went to her for a follow up from a another medical procedure she ordered, the doctor sent the front desk person to see what was my issue. The front desk person then came back and said the Dr. did not need to see me. I was so confused but i just left. I took off work to see the doctor only to find out i was going to be seen by a front desk person. Few days later, same problem and getting worst. I called made another follow up appointment and i got a call back about some issue with my insurance and they refusing to see me due to the insurance issue. This was just another excuse not to see me. I spoke with Miriam and i explained i have never felt welcome here and she just replied "oh well". Terrible service! If you are looking to have liposuction on your entire abdomen I strongly advise you not to see Dr. Banks. Her surgical coordinator has a wonderful personality and will lead you to believe that Dr. Banks is an awesome plastic surgeon when it comes to performing liposuction. I went in for liposuction on my upper and lower abdomen, flanks, bra roll and lower back. 6 weeks after my procedure I looked even fatter than I did before the procedure! I'm begging pls don't do it!
