I had a pain level of 10 when I went to see Dr.Lava. I have Trigeminal Neuralgia.I have been pain free for two years thanks to Dr. Lava.

Exceptional doctor. I saw several neurologists before Dr. Lava and I would not see anyone else. Very patient, thoughtful and considerate in his approach to medicine. A tremendously skilled physician, Dr. Lava listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions. He also addressed all of my concerns. Most importantly and unlike the previous neurologists that I had seen, Dr. Lava was successful in treating my condition. For that, I am eternally grateful. I STRONGLY recommend him. My husband has been a patient of Dr. Lava’s for a few years and WE LOVE HIM! My husband has Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and it’s a rough thing to deal with at times, most times. He listens, he empathizes with both of us, not just him. He also laughs at my husband’s corny jokes! In this pandemic I feel like our level of care has even INCREASED if possible. I would definitely recommend Dr. Lava, he is a great doctor, a wonderful patient advocate, attentive, and makes sure we always have what we need quickly and efficiently. Be it help with home health visits, medications, medical equipment, or just advice and peace of mind. For the people not getting any response, I would recommend using the patient portal. My favorite doctor and hospital!

I love Dr. Lava. He is a great listener and cares about his patients.

I currently live in Arizona so I can’t travel to see Dr Lava Anymot . I was a patient of his for a few years at Albany Medical and he left me in good hands with Dr Matthew Murnane another excellent Neurologist. My Husband and I travel to Georgia to see Dr Lave . My husband passed away and I can’t travel to see him at least once a year or I would. Whoever wrote the bad reviews sorry you felt that way . Coming from a family of only physicians and being in the healthcare field myself, easiest choice to make when I chose Dr. Lava after being diagnosed with MS. Best decision I made! Far exceeds a five star rating.

I would not recommend this Dr. Lava. The whole time I was in the office he was looking at the computer & Talking... he didn’t review and of my results and instantly told me “What he thought” prescribed me 3 days high dosage steroids and that was that. Called him to let him know they helped and would not prescribe me a lower dosage. He’s very unprofessional and rude. He will communicate through his Asst. and she doesn’t know all the details of what’s really going on... I left there and took my services else where for a second opinion and they’re so much better I would not recommend this Dr. Lava. Dr. Lava by far had the worst bedside manner that I've ever seen. I personally would not recommend him to anyone whose seeking to have a care provider that actually cares about their patients health.

My wife was and I repeat was a patient of this Mr. Lava. Calling this man a doctor in my opinion would be an insult to doctors who are actually doing there job by taking care of patients. My wife has been seen by Mr. Lava multiple times and has discussed her treatment opinions. We were in the process of fertility treatment when she initially began as a patient of Mr. Lava so she and he agreed to not start her MS meds. But as time went on (a few months later) my wife symptoms became more severe and we went in to see him. He recommended some physical therapy to help with some shoulder pain she was experiencing. A few weeks later she started getting tremors really badly. She called repeatedly to get either Mr.Lava or one of his nurse practitioners to go ahead and write her script for her MS meds which was previously discussed with Mr. Lava. She went into great detail as to how bad her symptoms had gotten and that we are foregoing our fertility treatment so that the meds could get her back to some type of normalcy. But no help was provided after numerous calls and messages left for Mr. Lava only to get the response to make an appointment, which the first available was two week out. There wasn't even a phone call from Mr. Lava after receiving my wife's messages to see how she was doing or to hear for himself how bad of she was. How can someone in a doctor care receive such poor aid whatever happened to the hippocratic oath. It seem to us that he would rather get paid for an office visit than to do what is right by the patient. Shame on you Mr. Lava. All those years of experience in MS and this is how you treat your patients. This is just wicked and wrong on so many levels. My wife was and I repeat was a patient of this Mr. Lava. I initially went to see Dr. Lava for a second opinion on a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. Dr. Lava confirmed the diagnosis and I decided to continue to receive treatment from him. I have been a patient of Dr. Lava's for three years and will continue to be in his care until he is no longer practicing medicine. Dr. Lava is extremely knowledgable and caring. The staff is very nice! This is my doctor and he is the best. He really cares for his patients.

Dr. Lava is the most thorough, attentive doctor I have ever seen. He listens to your needs and has a calm, reassuring bedside manor. If I could rate 6 stars I would. I strongly recommend him to anyone in need of a neurologist.

This man has done nothing for me but waste my time and defraud Medicaid by collecting payments. Heralded as an "expert", I have yet to see any of his institutional knowledge put to use. This man issued a prescription to me based on the results of 4 months old data. The pharmacy FORTUNATELY DID NOT FILL IT BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOXIC. After some due diligence I have made some interesting discoveries. Next stop the civil rights division of the Department of Health and Human Services. AVOID!

Getting an appointment is fine, but if you need any follow up, or advice or prescription information, customer service, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!!!

Excellent bedside manner including phenomenal sense of humor which I have needed on more than one occasion dealing with trigeminal neuralgia. He has also directed me more than once to providers to help me with other health conditions he has helped diagnose. I consider him a first rate advisor and wouldn't trade him for anyone!

I see Dr. Neil Lava for my RRMS. Out of the 4 Neurologists I've seen he has listened to my concerns and promptly set up therapies which have helped immensely. He is top notch at Emory and I'm so glad I found him a few years ago. He also referred me to a Rheumatologist who diagnosed my Systemic Scleroderma. I am so appreciative of his care.

I would NOT recommend this doctor. I went to see him and he would not listen to me. He did not give me a diagnosis nor a treatment plan. Terrible experience!!!

He spent over 40 mins in the exam room taking my history and listening to my concerns. He answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable and confident in his care.
