One of the many obstacles for patients with debilitating and chronic illnesses can potentially be the thoughts of disease progressing. Based on Dr. Ivascu's discussion with me this week, she is exceptionally skilled with merging realistic and honest facts of a condition along with a positive and optimistic spin. What remains distinctive with Dr. Ivascu is that her physician attributes, extensive knowledge in her field , care and patience of a saint are correlated with her upbeat persona and magnetic motivation to meet specific patient goals and objectives. A superlative way to conceptualize a patients’ treatment plan is to use existing data and up to date research information while taking into account the patient’s perspectives over a continuum of time. I commend Dr. Ivascu for going the extra mile to understand the multi-layered viewpoints and needs of her patients despite the constraints and challenges providers face in today’s ever changing healthcare environment.

As a senior executive in a healthcare related field, I have enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with leading medical experts and par excellence physicians over the years. Yet despite my high level of interactions with providers both professionally and personally, Dr. Natalia Ivascu has made an indelible impression on me. During a recent procedure on my kid, she was keen to understand the true aspect of a medical challenge when she came out without being asked to update me and stated "I didnt want you to worry". As time went on, her knowledge, consistency, sincerity integrity, fairness and firmness (when applicable) continued to be evident both as a physician and department chief. This propelled me to reach out to her directly with questions (even if the answer had to be no) to conserve energy and time and help my child in an intensely stressful environment. W.H. Auden states "A doctor must love fellow human beings in the concrete and desire their good before their own". Based on first hand observations, it is crystal clear to me Dr Ivascu is a shining example of this motto.
