My experiences with Dr Olson were poor enough that when she no-showed at our second appointment and I was WITH NO WARNING seen by a new male OB/GYN i just switched to him. I went to her to talk about a tubal ligation because of my laundry list of medical conditions no child should be 'blessed' with for my first visit, and she essentially told me to shut up and accept my lot in life because no doctor would ever willingly sterilize me, nor would my insurance be willing to cover it. She then left me in the room crying after crushing what hope I'd managed to gather in spite of my severe depression. Dr Lawrence at the same location, the OB/GYN who was filling in for Ms Olson, turned out to be EXCELLENT and I adored him in spite of having EXPLICITLY stated when I initially went to the clinic that I wasn't comfortable with a male OB/GYN, even though he also tried(and succeeded) very very hard to not help me get sterilized. Not sure if they both flat-out lied about my insurance or were just uninformed, but either way, I'm seeing a fantastic new OB/GYN at UW both she and my insurance are more than happy to give me what i've been campaigning for for the past decade of my life without forcing me to fight tooth and nail for it. It is good that this doctor is retiring! She totally screwed me over. I had 2 tubal ligation consultations with her. One while I was pregnant another after I gave birth. She should have told me that she may be retiring and that I should see a different doctor and schedule a tubal ligation with a different doct instead she has a consultation and schedules my tubabl ligation. Now I'm screwed wairing 2 more months or who knows how long before I can have a tubal ligation. It is good that this doctor is retiring! She totally screwed me over. Very sweet personality but as a first time mother I did not have the greatest support and experiences with her. She was always rushing and wouldn't take the time to answer my questions; or would give me very "safe" answers that I could find on the internet myself. I want to believe that she was tired of doing this for so many years but I don't find it fair for those like me who are trying to build trust and feel supported by a professional. Her assistant was very nice and supportive (I think her name was Britney), I felt more comfortable addressing my concerns to her. Also, before leaving the Dr. referred me to a different OB and even had me sign a release of records so that this could be a smooth transition; well it has not been. The O.B. I was referred to did not even get my records plus she is not even taking in new patients! I haven't been seen by an OB for more than a month and I am 29 weeks now! Thankfully, I was able to schedule an appointment with OB Residents since I was not able to find an OB that would take me in as a new patient! It has all been like a bad joke! I did not care for Dr. Olson's patient care. She didn't have any concern for what I came in for and didn't have the proper treatment plan. She did not explain my medical condition and had an urgency to finish the appointment. She has no bedside manner and being an MD did not seem like it was her passion. I would not recommend her to anyone!

Long wait after seeing the nurse and when Dr. Olson came in I felt very rushed like she wasn't to concerned about the issues I was having, told her I was having pain in breast area and didn't even bother to look at it. Her lack of caring was very poor and that's the most important part of being an ob dr.

Doen't have any connection with the patients. I got a feeling the that doctor is least concerned about the patient and just want to get over with the appointments
