Nancy Carroll Vansaun

Her practice required a long medical intake to begin treatment, but she never even bothered to read it (I asked her to, as my physical health impacts heavily on my mental health). She said she didn't think it was relevant. Never felt she gave a hoot about how I felt, when I desperately needed a sense of compassion and concern. I questioned her about her treatment modalities based on her online self description which had attracted me: (paraphrase) treating older patients with issues with depression and life passages, using psychodynamic and CBT techniques. She said dismissively that she didn't remember what she'd written. She was pleasant enough but that wasn't enough to turn her into a competent therapist, especially not for me at a time when I needed support from someone I felt cared.

Nancy helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. She has been kind but firm. I have recommended someone to her and felt confident in her ability to provide constructive support.

Seems to project believing everyone who comes through the door is either abused or an abuser.

Kind of superficial and lacking in empathy. Never felt she was really invested in my welfare.
