Was a patient for 3 years. Doctor did almost every pain procedure on me that there was. My insurance and I both paid thousands to him (if I had to guess about $25,000 over the years) I overpaid $150 for 3 visits when I MET my out of pocket. Won’t give me back my money. Called for over a month. Update After months and getting Art General involved I was able to get $150 refund back. Was a patient for 3 years. My first visit office was so busy took over 3 hrs from my appointment to be seen. I was quite apprehensive but after years of pain went for the treatment. Next visit everything went smoothly I received injections from Dr U who was amazing explained the procedure while performing . He was so calming and compassionate with a nervous patient. Do not have enough positive words to express how great he was. Awesome physician.

worst dr. he was doing an injection while awake and i started yelling that it hurt i was told to shut up and to stop being a baby. he refuses to help with my pain unless i do the injection.

He’s awful! Won’t spend time with you. Spends more time speaking into his recording device after your appointment (in his office) than face to face. My pain was worse after going to him but he was giving me medication to “help” with the pain that was getting worse. He also won’t refund me $150 that he legally owes me and I had to get the Attorney General involved.

Dr. U is the VERY BEST PAIN MANAGEMENT Doctor I have found, he is gentle yet precise w his epirdural AMD needle injections in my back, I’m a nervous person, so he explains everything he is doing for my back during the injections procedure! Dr U is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He is an experienced Anesthesiologist who specialized in pain management. I had an acute injury and had seen several other medical professionals who just wanted to give drugs. Dr U treated me with steroid injections in the office under fluoroscopy. His technique was painless and precise. I left with my sciatic pain gone. I can’t rave enough about his experience and his staffs competence. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in pain. These negative reviews are BS. Dr. U and his staff are extremely helpful, considerate and professional. Dr. U himself is knowledgeable, listens to concerns and provides an explanation to questions asked. During injections I have felt little to no pain/discomfort.. Dr. U is very good at what he does.

The worst pain management clinic that I have ever been to and will NOT be returning. After driving almost 2 hours, he spent 5 minutes with me. He would not listen to what has been tried before and was extremely hard to understand. Other physicians that I’ve had in the past were extremely pleasant and took the time to understand all of my diseases. I was appalled at this clinics lack of empathy. I would recommend him to no one. Dr.U is the best Doctor I’ve ever had!!! He’s helped me get a better quality of life again,my back is very bad & he didn’t give up on me like other Pain Management Doctors have! He did every procedure he needed to do, if they didn’t work, we then took the next step & finally he helped me get my Infusion Morphine Pain Pump! After 2 months of my body getting used to it & setting it up for the right dose...I feel sooo much better!!! He cares, he is kind and compassionate. He took the time to literally use a prop to show and explain my issue. He had a plan immediately and executed it. He was open and receptive to my questions and concerns. He fully answered my questions and I left knowing I was on the right track to relief. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Simply horrific. “Dr.” U is an obnoxious condescending little man, runs you around endlessly telling you to get this paper then come back, follow his instructions to be told upon return” What is wrong with you ? I told you I need this other paper as well, make new appointment, come back for another round. Disgusting. Slimy, condescending. Keeps no records, I am so disgusted by this creep but he is the only person on the region who can provide a service I need, and since he cannot do invasive procedures on me for the big money, he clearly considers me a waste of his time. Though he does find time to go outside and smoke between patients. I am writhing in agony as I write this because not a single person could answer a phone for 3 days before a holiday. So far this clown has caused me three ambulance rides to the local hospital simply because a call cannot be returned. He is scamming Medicaid which I have proof of and will be contacting them the day after new year. The office is dirty,the staff surly with the exception of one receptionist Thana. His reputation among the local pharmacies is that of a pill pusher. He insisted we begin a series of steroid injections to my spine, despite the records I showed him from my neurologist and rheumatologist that those injections were dangerous to some one with my condition. One of the worst doctors my partner or I have ever seen in our lives. We took a two day trip to travel to see him, waited in the waiting room for over an hour and a half past our scheduled appointment time, and then he spent a grand total of 10 minutes with us. It was clear that he had not reviewed the referral paperwork or intake paperwork at all, he took no time to get an understanding of my partner’s health issues or potential negative repercussions from the treatment he recommended. He immediately began pushing steroid spinal injections on us. Refused to wait for his nice but incompetent staff to provide him with the referral or medical paperwork that apparently disappeared into a black hole. In that 10 minutes he also diagnosed my partner with three conditions that he absolutely does not have, with no examination or diagnostic testing to round out the unread paperwork and no verbal interview. It’s been a month since the appointment and we have yet to hear back from them about a prescription he said he might consider trying—oh, but they were happy to call to tell us that no preauthorization was needed for the spinal injections we made it clear we weren’t interested in. This charlatan is clearly primarily interested in taking advantage of people in pain to line his pockets with insurance money—see him at your own risk. Dr. U, is the man! Went to Florida and my neck acted up in extreme pain, came home the next day, went to Dr. U, felt better immediately! Best pain mgmt Dr I've ever been too, by far! Thanks Dr.U

I have fibromyalgia, chronic insomnia, along w/ chronic inflammation. Have been doing trial and error with different medications with my primary doctor over the past few years. Have also been trying Eastern medicine approaches. Finally decided I needed to try a pain management doctor-maybe he could help figure out a comprehensive plan. Was optimistic that a professional pain doctor would have some fresh ideas and options. I was not interested in heavy pain pills or similar. It is not that kind of pain. Met with Dr. U. He did not listen to anything I said. I had to correct him regarding what I said two minutes prior. His solution was to try spinal injections and then to insert a pain pump into my spine. Umm. No... I asked how that will help insomnia? How will that help inflammation? I asked if there was anything less invasive to try. He said "NO."He was dismissive, pushing a pain pump which I'm sure brings in a ton of $. HARD PASS. Girls in office were nice. Only positive.

Dr. U is by far my favorite doctor to see. After nearly 20 years of chronic pain, I felt no relief with any therapy or pain management doctor. After a consultation and speedy diagnosis, I had a pump insertion with Dr. U. This has brought me constant relief, and he truly is a blessing. My pain rarely exceeds 3/10, which was a best case scenario before seeing him. I can now finally carry out daily tasks which used to be unbearable before. His staff always have a smile on their face, and are speedy to room and see me. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with chronic pain. I still make the drive from New Hampshire to Fishkill to see him as I truly think he is the best.

I was referred to Dr. U. for help installing a pain simulator from Boston Scientist... He too several ex-rays and there not sufficient space to install the sensors. He suggested the installation of two "spacers" to increase the distances between L2/3 and L 3/4 I had the surgery at the Midhudson Regional Hospital on Dec 16. Minimally invasive back opening and now 2 weeks later I have experience at least a 75% reduction in pain in both of the sacroiliacs areas. I now able to sleep in a bed for the first time on 6 months. Yes, I still have some back pain, but minor compared to before the operation..Hopefully, as the nerves regenerate the pain will reduce even more...Oh yes, I can even walk better and hopefully the use of cane will be reduced as well..For me Dr. U. was GREAT....He took the time to explain the procedure and was professional in EVERY Way...A great experience after a LONG time in pain...I should not even require the Spinal Epidural Shots any longer

Saw Dr. U after seeing another pain doctor who could not help with my severe neck pain that radiated down my arm. Dr. U did a Cervical Radiofrequency Ablation 2 years ago. I have had NO pain in my neck or down my arm since. Dr. U is a great doctor.

Dr U is implanting Medtronic pain medicine pumps in people and my fiance had one implanted in Dec of 2016 (back when his little office was a hole in the wall in Wappingers) of which he put morphine in. He was hospitalized multiple times for side effects such as edema breathing problems and personality changes. Dr U swore up and down (a conversation of which I have recorded) that there were absolutely no side effects to the pump. It was then that his primary care physician discovered he had an allergy to morphine and recommended the medication be changed or the pump be removed. We got in to see Dr U days later and he refused to change the medication for a month and there was a lot left in the pump (after all the medication is very expensive). So he finally changed it in the fall and calculated that my fiance would need to come back Feb 5th for a refill. He had to return to see him to have the pump turned up once his body had adjusted to the new medication but never took into consideration that it would run out sooner. Friday the little handheld remote that he uses every 2 1/2 hours for a bolus flashed a code 8682. He called the Medtronic representative and she had to look up what the code meant. Then the pump which is implanted in his stomach started alarming. He called the rep back and said she was calling Dr U and that they would both meet us at the ER because the code and alarm meant the pump was empty. She called back saying the earliest he could see him would be on Tues because he's in surgery all day Mon (implanting more of these pumps). Then she call once again to tell us that he wouldn't see him on Tue because he hadn't even ordered the medication yet. So we went to the hospital and they tried calling Dr U multiple times but he wouldn't return their calls and he now has a pump in his stomach that is alarming every 10 minutes and nobody will help him because the ER doctors state that this is what he has a pain management doctor (Dr U) for but what do we do when Dr U won't help him? Dr U is just too big for his britches now because he's loving the money these pumps are bringing in but you can't do much without a medical licence and that's what he's on the brink of losing! He can read radiologic imaging himself and gives epidurals (credentialed anesthesiologist). The office is somewhere between efficient and overbooked as far as pace of actual personal exam, but waiting room time is reasonable and the flow and treatment of patients within the epidural room is precisely efficient while still thorough and detail oriented. The office experience is very pleasant. The staff and Dr U. Are comforting during procedures. As, a patient the staff and Dr U provide a comfortable atmosphere. And listen do to the pain issues. I am very thankful for the help this office has provided for me.

I have full body/internal Complex Regional Pain Syndrome aka CRPS or RSD. My condition and the future prognosis where "poor" at best when I first began seeing Dr.U. I'm severely allergic to medications and most doctors wouldn't even consider accepting me as a patient. Dr.U did not balk at the challenge. He and his staff fought for me to receive the treatment I needed. They never gave up...even when I felt I'd never get my quality of life back. Today I am in remission and have remained functional /employed. My life no longer revolves around pain. Dr.U took the time to explain procedures, risks and benefits, and ensured I understood what was expected of ME. A treatment plan is a partnership... I have been a patient of Dr. U for over 10 years. I have never even had a relationship last that long ( I also am not a fan of doctors, scheduled visit, testing and you get the pic ) But he has changed my life, I was to the point of non functional. Just every day chores. Working with him eventually My life changed .He is extremely knowledgeable, hard working, dedicated to help relieve your pain and retain mobility. In my personal opinion, he is an example of what a Dr. Should be. Now, let's not forget that no man is an island and he could not do it without his staff . They to are dedicated to the patients welfare and health. Polite, kind,helpful and in grateful to them as well. Recently changes were made and things were our of sorts. But all is back on track with the return of a very valued staff member. I recommend him to any and every on I meet. Thank you Dr. And your staff. As a patient of Dr. U for the last 3 years he has kept me out of a wheelchair or crippled from serious back and neck injuries. He is very professional and knowledgeable about pain and how to control and manage that pain. The only bad reviews on here are by people who have not followed directions after care with follow ups or aftercare instructions as well as the med seeking people. I have witnessed on numerous accounts people cursing or fighting with staff and Dr. U because they want more meds before time. This man does not only care about your pain he also cares deeply about recovery and further treatments if needed. I wouldn't trust any other Dr. Or surgeon with my back and will always have Dr. U assist with any surgery I have to have in the future. I've been a patient of Dr.U for just over 2.5 yrs now. That said, I've never once felt like a patient. Dr.U and his staff provide a personable and unique experience, tailored to your needs and treatment plan. From my Physical Therapy and meds, my Epidural and Steroid injections to my Spinal Stimulator implant. They do it all! Dr.U and the staff explained EVERYTHING that was going to happen, could happen and what to do about it! And through the entire fiasco, Dr.U had my back (no pun intended), he ALWAYS acted in my best interests and as a result, I'd recommend Eastern Pain Management to anyone, any time! The office is horrendous. I'll never know how good the doctor is because nobody called me back to schedule treatment after calling many, many times. No one answers the phone - I believe it's just my number they're not answering. Got insurance company involved. Didn't receive my MRI cd back when I was there and when they sent it, just sent it w/o padded envelope. It broke and now I have no disk to bring to a real office. These people are a bunch of idiots. He likes to push the morphine pump on you! Not happy with the team

I love Dr U and his staff but if you need to reach him after hours or on the weekend there is no answering service which is a huge problem. One of the girls forgot to call a script in on a Friday and I was unable to reach the Dr all weekend to call it in to the pharmacy. Dr. "U" has been a godsend. My spine was injured in an accident and it became increasingly difficult just to get through a day at work.I was about to give up after seeing several orthopedists & months of unsuccessful physical therapy. Dr. U has made every effort -keeping the pain under control so that I may continue supporting my family. He and his staff go out of their way to expedite insurance authorizations , provide timely regular/emergency appts. , and respond quickly to messages.
