I have only seen this doctor twice, so to be fair as possible, I am giving 3 of 5 stars, but making sure that my few experiences with him are explained well to readers. I will say that my first impression of him was a positive one. He was polite, professional, friendly, & took the time to be thorough during my appointment. I had to see him initially because I have issues with both of my hands. I have carpal tunnel that required surgery in each hand (these procedures were not done by this doctor), but was still having quite a bit of pain post op, so after having an x-ray learned that I also suffer from osteoarthritis, which is common, especially in females. Anyhow, back to Dr. Ahmad. He put me on the anti inflammatory med called Celebrex, which was to be taken daily for arthritis pain. It's certainly not a miracle drug, but does help alleviate symptoms. He also followed up with me, but my appt was pushed by his office months away, (due to COVID-19) so over time since my first visit, I had begun having additional pain in both of my hips, worse on the left side. When I saw him a second time, it was a late afternoon appt (4:30pm) & though Dr. Ahmad had the same friendly demeanor as previously, I can't help but admit that this time he did seem as though he was "rushing" quite a bit through my appt. Maybe because it was almost the end of his work day & he was eager to leave? But I only spent maybe 5-6 mins with him @ this appt, which I felt wasn't enough time to give me the opportunity to better explain my issues & give a detailed summary of my new symptoms since I had last seen him. He quickly examined me, moving my legs around & confirming that it appeared I had nothing really wrong with my hips because if I had, I would not be able to handle him moving my legs in the manner that he had. My primary care physician had a different opinion & did notice an issue upon his examination & suggested that I may have bursitis in my hip + ordered an x-ray. Dr. Ahmad told me that he felt the x-ray was unnecessary, but given the pain I am having daily in both hips, I have to disagree. X-rays are usually quick & painless + can show issues that may not be obvious upon regular exams. I have decided that I will still have the x-ray done just to be sure that nothing unknown could show up. I haven't really had much experience with this doctor, but I will say that he was kind & treats his patients with respect + dignity. I just wish that I hadn't been rushed this last visit because maybe if I had gotten a chance to elaborate on the hip pain, he would have had a different outlook or opinion on it & have taken it more seriously? The pain is pretty frequent & @ times severe, even waking me up during the night. I'm obviously not a doctor, but that doesn't sound normal to me! I am 38 years old & very active. I enjoy going for walks & hikes with my family, so this hip pain has definitely been an inconvenience to me because of my busy lifestyle. I've even had to pull my vehicle over multiple times while driving to get out & stretch for several mins because my hips "lock up" & hurt after sitting too long. This also happens when standing too long & none of this was told to the doc because I simply wasn't given enough time. Hopefully the x-ray will help! He did offer to increase my med, which isn't a bad idea. I just wish he'd had a better understanding of my symptoms & their frequency before deciding that they weren't too concerning. If this only bothered me occasionally, it wouldn't be that big a problem. But this has been going on for several months on a daily basis. I am seeing my pcp today so we'll see how that goes + the x-ray. I hope if I do see Dr. Ahmad again in the future that he will not be in such a hurry. Maybe I'll schedule a morning appt instead? However, the staff @ his practice are friendly & so far I have not had a lengthy wait time. The crazy thing is that this most recent visit, the time I had spent with the nurse who asked questions + did my vitals was equivalent to the amount of time spent with the doc.
