Dr. Mumtaz Raza

I saw Raza for several years. She is horrible. Uncaring, focuses too much on irrelevant things, and doesn’t care much for her patients. Avoid her

My husband ended up in behavioral hlth hospital and was seen by Dr. Raza. He was in severe distress and we were hopeful that she will adjust his meds and help him. She wasn’t of much help, added more and more medicine that made him only more numb. My husband continued seeing her after discharge from the hospital, and when he was not getting better and was still very depressed she clearly was frustrated with him and told him he better gets his act together because he’s running out of options. Nice thing to say to someone who is suicidal. Horrible, I would not recommend her. She lacks communication skills and professionalism. Seemed to not listen to a word that I had to say. Had her as my psychiatrist at the AMITA inpatient facility and she was keeping me without telling me any valid reason. I even talked to multiple of the nurses in the facility and they said that wasn’t the first time they’ve heard someone say Raza doesn’t listen. Made my experience there exponentially worse, especially when the length of my stay is dependent solely on her. Talked to her about self image issues and she immediately asked me if I thought I was fat, which doesn’t seem like a very appropriate response question, considering I never mentioned feeling that way. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Drug pushing. Doesn’t listened. Already has her mind made up before you get there. For the long term safety of yourself and your kids. Stay away!

I have only had positive, affirming and extremely helpful experiences with Dr. Raza. She listens well, genuinely cares and offers solid, supportive, compassionate treatment. She has made a real difference in my life. I’m thankful and grateful for her care.

She doesn't care what happens to you, and she doesn't set out to help you. Came, paid for it, that's all she's interested in. I strongly advise against it.

Cold hearted, mean, and rude, refused to prescribe me my Suboxone, that I'm wiening off of, because the phyc meds im on. This is my life, I cant just stop taking it, and I have a full time job I cannot loose. Tried to call the office to rectify the situation, I was to upset to even speak to anyone on my way out. I'm a current patient of Dr. Raza. Upon my first visit, another clients paperwork was on her desk, I could have read the client's name and the entire questionnaire. Dr. Raza asked what my meds were. She wrote me refills. She didn't know me and never requested previous psychiatric records yet she refilled my heavy duty psych meds based soley off what I told her. Lucky for her I'm honest!! She is not personable. Spends less than 10 min with you and doesn't seem to care at all. Just "How are you going?" and "ok see you in 3 months." I bring up concerns and she just dismisses them.

She doesn't listen to you. When you tell her that her patient is dizzy and disoriented after the drugs that she prescribes, she says "It is impossible". During appointment she NEVER makes and eye contact. She shows absolutely NO interest in her patient or patients family. AVOID HER LIKE A PLAGUE

Doesn’t listen at all rarely makes eye contact. Doesn’t respond correctly when advising of reactions to medications

I like this Dr. very much. I feel comfortable around her and the medication she prescribed seems to be working.

Doctor is very impersonal, mumbles and doesn't listen. We feel like an annoyance to her. She asks "how you are doing" then will type very slowly the duration of the appointment while we sit in silence. My daughter tells her the medicine is not working and Dr. Raza says "well it should work" and will continue to prescribe the same medicine. Can't believe other doctors recommend her.

Terrible listener. Seems not to care. Left my daughter more anxious then when she came in. Kept her on same medication that is not working, which was the reason for the visit. Worst experience with a doctor I've ever experienced.

I was originally referred to Dr. Yu, since I am pregnant and on medication for depression and anxiety. Dr. Yu didn't have appointments until many months out, so today I had my first visit with Dr. Raza. To sum it up: she spent half my appointment time criticizing and questioning why I see midwives instead of an OB/GYN for my pregnancy care. She mentioned 'I used to be an OB/GYN' and told me 'delivering babies isn't hard- but if something goes wrong, you need a doctor'. She proceeded to ask me 'what do midwives even do? Are they just like, nurses? How long do they go to school for? Are you having a home birth? NONE of this is her business or at all related to why I was there. She passively criticized me for being on the medications I am on, even though EVERY OTHER provider up until this point in my care has said they're safe, and they're fine. Untreated depression and anxiety is WAY more dangerous than the low-dose medications I am on. She asked me if I was married and seemed unhappy with my answer when I said no. She asked me multiple times 'was this pregnancy planned' and when I answered yes, I was questioned on 'why didnt I go off this medication before getting pregnant?' I was honest and said, my mental health is the best it's been in a long time- why would I mess that up before a huge hormonal change?! Her personal beliefs seemed to bleed into the appointment, with things I said or my lifestyle choices clearly upsetting her. I have called and left a message for the office manager in the meantime. I will ABSOLUTELY not see Dr. Raza again, I cannot believe she is referred patients who are pregnant AND needing mental health help. It was the most upsetting appointment I've had in a long time. Update: I spoke with Lisa, the office manager who was VERY professional, competent and kind. The office itself was lovely, with friendly staff, but this Dr. needs to be done practicing. Dr Raza put me on medication for anxiety and even though at first I was not sure if they would work they have definitely helped.

Dr M. Raza was great with my daughter. She is a very observant Doctor and listens intently. She did so much for my daughter in a short period of time. She found group therapy most helpful and the the way the program is designed she was able to focus on herself intently. I was so glad to see how much she improved ❤️ Thank you

Very cold perso. The whole reason I went to her was to explain that I have very bad anxiety. She gave me 1 medication that when I read up on it does nothing for anxiety at all it's only for depression and then when she found out i was on Norco and methadone she gave me a dirty look not very perfesional at all. Ansked me nothing about my anxiety

Her shoes were off the whole time! She typed with one hand slowly into her computer, never making eye contact with me. She was “shocked” I’ve been on these medications while pregnant. I spoke with the office manager who was professional and very competent, unlike Dr. Raza. How this Dr sees vulnerable patients, I will never know.

The first time I walked into her office, Dr. Raza wasn't wearing shoes. They did not return to her feet for the duration of the visit. They had just started using a new computer program and she was asking ME questions about it. I have an eating disorder and she put me on a drug known for intense food cravings. I instructed her of the new medication I'd like to try...not the other way around (my PSYCHOLOGIST recommended it). She spent an entire office visit trying to give me career advice.

Dr. Mumtaz Raza is a complete quack and has absolutely no patient skills. She will write things like "seems aggressive" or "heightened anxiety" in the report that you don't even say happen so you stay there longer!! This hospital is a money making machine and does not care about the patients at all! I saw that no one in there was actually receiving any treatment and it was just a psych hold facility. Once the patients insurance ran out they got them out the door within the hour! Said hope you get better good luck after their "treatment". I stayed here right before Christmas and they could've cared less that I needed to travel home to see my girlfriend at the time. They are only in it for themselves and Pray to God you don't get Dr. Mumtaz Raza as she is an absolute joke of a Doctor and Mental Health Doctor at that!!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!! I tried working with this doctor for 10 months and am now looking for a new physiatrist for a variety of reasons. One of which, I read about some side effects of a medication she prescribed from the makers website and instead of looking into it she immediately discredited it. My counselor tried calling her 3 times - she never returned the calls. I needed disability paperwork to be filled out for my employer; she wouldn't do it. She told me to fill it out and she'd sign it...

A total quack. Doesn't listen, is judgmental, and doesn't like it when she's taking care of educated individuals. Feels threatened easily when the patient is advocating on their behalf. Wouldn't return my husband's phone calls about my care to address his concerns. Steer clear of this lady.

Nice enough but never really gives any good useful advice to my child or us as parents. Merely, she is just a person who we HAVE to see to get the prescriptions my daughter needs.

Not exactly one of the premier psychiatrists around. She doesn't really listen, offer advice, work with you on medication or towards solving your problems. It's just silence while she writes your prescriptions every few months. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone that I like or whom I'd like to get help.

Doesn't respond or call back when there's a problem. It took over a week to refill a prescription. I lost my placement in school without the medication. Couldn't get an office visit for one month.
