If you are searching for a doctor who will listen to you, trust your understanding of your own mind and body, and work together with you for a solution, do not visit Dr. Ismail. Her methodology is outdated, her manner is unapologetically judgmental and mean, and her bedside manner is lacking in almost every way possible. Within the first ten minutes of my appointment, she accused me of wasting her time, made sexist comments about my marriage and family planning, and even asked me why I had not yet committed suicide - even though I never mentioned suicidal ideation, nor was it an issue I was seeking help with. She took zero notes and asked me maybe two questions about my history or myself. Please seek psychiatric care from literally any other provider, you will be much better off and well cared for by someone else.
