Competent and friendly staff and technicians. Excellent and competent doctors. Dr Iyer was so pleasant and gentle and listened and was attentive and seemed to really care. Dr Copeland, though very competent and top-notch, wasn't as 'warm' nor 'approachable' as I wanted. Still, I give high reviews.

The doctors here are very thorough and are helping me through a difficult situation with my eye. Waiting time may be long, though, because each patient's needs are different and several tests may be needed.

The staff is nice. Wait times are minimal. Dr. Iyer is very nice and thorough. He is knowledgeable and explained my condition and treatment very well. I feel good about letting him diagnose and treat me. Ashley Flowers Bridgman

Athens Retina Center: Dr. Mohan N. Iyer, MD He is the best, he personally call the Neurologycal office and spoke with the specialist gave him all the details about my husband case, they give us an appointment for the same day. He was so professional and knowledgeable he discovered that my husband has a brain mass that was affecting his vision. After surgery he call and follow up to see how was his improvement. Dr. Iyer waa a godsend! I had an extremely rare complication from cataract surgery. My opthalmologist who performed my surgery referred me straight over to Dr. Iyer the very next day post surgery. Kudos go to my cataract surgeon as well for that expediency. I could never have imagined any doctor so intrinsically invested in the care-taking, diagnosing, testing, treating my highly unusual circumstance that was also critical with my eye as Dr. Iyer exhibited. I was under his care daily to weekly to monthly for 4 months. He saved my eye and my sight! That is the truth and his care was of the most professional and compassionate that any doctor could possibly exhibit. My thankfulness is without end.

Went for a 3 month follow up today, called ahead to let them know I would be 10 mins late. The waiting room was packed at 9:25 am! Average age of patient appeared to be 70+ (most were with a caregiver). After 45 mins I asked when I would be seen, the receptionist reminded me I was late and told me I was next. An additional 25 minutes passed, several patients were getting restless new arrivals were being told it would be a 2 hour visit. I promptly cancelled my appt. the receptionist encouraged me to stay or reschedule. This is my 4th visit to Dr. Iyer's office every visit has been a lengthy wait... and a brief visit with the Doctor. Personally I felt my appointments were rushed, impersonal, and did not allow for questions to be asked. His specialty is urgently needed in Athens. Unfortunately I will not be returning. There aren't any many reviews written I hope the feedback is received positively and will shed some light and bring about improvements. I can not say enough good things about Dr Iyer! When my Retina detached he had me come in immediately and gave me options. He worked on my eye for over an hour in his office right then to attach it. He had me come in daily for that entire week and he also came in on his day off for a follow up visit and was going to operate that day if it was needed. He is very professional and to the point with what he wants you to do. From not being able to see at the start of the visit to almost having all my vision back 3 weeks later is amazing and I owe it all to Dr Iyer!

Went to Dr Copeland today for a checkup. During exam he found a small tear in my left eye. He was able to fix in the office. He is the best retinal specialist I have ever been too. Thank you Dr Copeland

Tried his exp. drug lights went out now totally blind.

I was referred to Mohan N. Iyer, M.D., by Dr. Flood from Lavonia Ty Cobb group after my vision took a turn for the worse. Dr.Iyer has and continues to demonstrate superior levels of medical care for my retina related issues. He is comprehensive, probative, compassionate, charming, and last but not least - professional and clinically talented. He loves his work and it shows. You can be assured that his standards of care are of the highest quality and his knowledge of his chosen area of specialty is top notch, current, and effective. Highly recommended. I had an emergency with my sight after a car accident. Dr Iyers and his staff stayed late to see me for the appointment. They made sure the doctors that I was referred to were contacted and informed of the situation. After two other Dr's and surgery within 24 hours, because Dr Iyer and his staff made the arrangements, I am on the right track for recovery. I could not have had better care, more compassion or finer customer service if I had scripted it. Thank you for all of your caring and attention. I feel I owe my vision to Dr. Iyer and his staff. After 2 botched surgeries, one on each eye. (Done by another Dr.) I am able to see and read again. He is a gentlemen in every respect and is backed by a loyal and curious staff.

I went to Doctor Iyer after being recommended to see him by my ophthalmologist. He was so professional and so thorough and helped me understand the condition from which I was challenged. He did not rush me but spent lots of time explaining my options and what was happening with my eyes. I really appreciated his professionalism. Since then I have learned so many folks I know have gone to him and feel the same way about his care. I am so grateful to Dr. Iyer and his staff.

On October 10, 2015 while fixing breakfast I went blind in my right eye. Naturally I paniced and called Dr. Iyer immediately. The blindness lasted only about 10 minutes but his office had me into see him as soon as I could get there. He soon realized that it wasn't my eye itself but quite possibly a blood clot. He contacted my vascular surgeon which resulted in a stint in my carotid artery. Dr. Iyer quick diagnosis may well have prevented a stroke later on.

Dr. Iyer is an outstanding retinal specialist. His staff is proficient and personable. On one occasion, the office was closed for a holiday, yet, when Dr. Iyer was told of my torn retina, he came in just to treat me. Not many doctors would have done that.

My husband, John suffered a detached retina diagnosed at 1600. Our Dr referred him to Dr. Iyer. Dr. Iyer and his staff waited for us to drive to Athens to receive treatment, arriving ar 1800. He explained my husband's condition and the available treatment options. John received an in office procedure that night and outpatient surgery three days later. We praise God for hearing and answering prayers, for the abilities of Dr.Iyer and John's full recovery.

He explained my problem so I understood , how he would correct and what I needed to do and expect. He was able to comfort and help me understand what to expect and what I would need to do for myself. I also wanted him to know how well his personnel is trained and how much I appreciated their help. Also his office is very pleasant , great magazines, bath rooms well equipped . Very very pleasant. My Husband is a patient of Dr. Iyer and had been for several years, we are very thankful !

Athens, GA. is fortunate to have Dr. Iyer practicing his specialty here. Excellent bedside manner, excellent staff and great at answering ALL my questions to my satisfaction-without feeling rushed. Dr. Iyer replaced my 23 year old artificial lens which had become detached and displaced. I have several clients who see Dr. Iyer on a regular basis for their conditions and all of them love him.
