THIS OFFICE HAS THE WORST CLERICAL STAFF I EVER SPOKE TO IN MY LIFE. THE RUDEST PEOPLE THAT SHOULD NOT VE IN THE MEDICAL FIELD. DONT CALL FOR ANY QUESTIONS OR HELP BECAUSE YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE TERRIBLE ATTITUDES.

I was referred to Dr. Bookstone via my insurance for an emergency extraction. I called the office and when I told her I had a referral and needed this ASAP she told me to, and I quote, "call back in two weeks". Uh, what? Excuse me? I couldn't get in touch with them for two months afterwards. When I finally got an appointment the receptionist was a little short, but not too rude. I wound up paying out of pocket for another oral surgeon ( Dr. Schiffman, whom I highly recommend!) and when I cancelled with Brookstone, the receptionist was highly rude, unprofessional, and spoke over me as though she absolutely didn't care. I got a half-hearted and shallow "glad you got it done" as a way to placate me and shut me up. After reading the negative reviews on the staff and Dr itself, I'm glad I dodged a bullet. If you're thinking of going here, don't. Call a better oral surgeon.

Just saw Dr. Brookstone today. Receptionists were kind. Not a long wait at all. I was in and out within an hour ! Very professional and straight to the point. Would definitely recommend.

Took my seven year old daughter to get an extraction. Grateful he takes Medicaid (healthfirst) It all happened so quickly which was great! The team comes in all at once and you don’t know what the Hells going on and that’s what I needed to happen because my daughter is totally dental phobic haha She had a little infection under her tooth and he wrote her prescription for antibiotics she had no trouble and healed beautiful thanks Obly complaint is the 4 week wait to be seen but honestly he’s in High demand And sees so many people a day and quickly! like a well oiled machine haha

Had 2 wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, aside from the pain after the procedure I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Brookstone and his staff. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful from the front desk to the back office. I highly recommend Dr. Brookstone for anyone who is looking for a good oral surgeon.

Great doc and the staff was also very lovely tooth my wisdom tooth out in 4 mins and I was on my way

I got 2 teeth pulled and the dentist was incredibly kind and looked over everything discussed everything with me. All the staff there was nice and patient I waited a month and it was so worth it. Recommend

Dr. Brookstone put me under, numbed my teeth and I was in the recovery room in less than 10 minutes! It was a great experience. I only had to take Acetaminophen and I never swelled! I had the teeth out on Monday and was back at work on Thursday. I could have even gone back sooner.

I would never go back here again. I wont lie the work done to my mouth was good, however his staff lied to me about putting in a prescription for me. so when I would call and say my pharmacy never received it they would get annoyed at me even though they lied about it. Then when I spoke to Dr. Brookstone about it he said I was the liar, and then he went on to make up fake information that was never actually given to him. TLDR; Dr. Brookstone is incredibly unprofessional and just plain rude, with absolutely NO bedside manner. Don't go here if you expect exceptional service and a professional Dr. If you don't care and are a miserable person, this is the dentist for you! Where to begin- First with obtaining an appointed for a Saturday for a wisdom tooth extraction that was in dire need of removal. I contacted them And was greeted by Vanessa who was very helpful in getting me the appt so fast and fitting me into the schedule. She quoted me a price and she was exactly on point w what it cost in the end , it was actually slightly less. I was a little uneasy after reading the reviews ,but I put it all aside because it was not directly related to the DR. I’ve never had a tooth pulled before so I was a tad nervous. Upon arrival I was greeted by the intake person which was A smooth transaction. I waited seconds before I was called in to do X-rays. I was greeted by Doria and what a pleasant experience it was. She made me feel very comfortable and safe as she was cleaning and disinfecting all the areas which made me feel at ease with all that is happening. My family has used Dr. Brookstone over the years and we have always been very happy, but he and his staff went out of their way to help my elderly father with an emergency appointment today. They were extremely compassionate, caring, and professional. They were on time, patient, gentle and understanding to his needs with complicated health issues. I’m not sure why there are so many one star reviews. I’ve been here 3-4 times, twice for myself, once for my son, and I think once for my wife. Our history here goes back at least six years. With my adult son, the doctor took his time explaining things. With my first extraction, he was good too, and I saw him for a follow up that time too. With my latest extraction, he was more impersonal and there was not much communication. I can understand people’s feelings that this office is like an assembly line, but I feel he is a very competent surgeon. As far as the front desk personnel, I don’t judge doctor’s offices by the receptionist. Yes, I do recall one time years ago that I felt someone was talking too much, but there were no issues this time and everyone was competent and professional. If you’re nervous, and looking for reassurance and hand-holding, this is not the place for you. If you just want a competent surgeon, I think Dr. Brookstone is very good. The doctor and staff were all so nice and put me at ease. The extraction was quick and painless and I had little discomfort afterward. Only needed Advil that night and the next morning, then nothing. Great office.

Made an appointment over a month in advance with my regular dentist. I listened to the conversation and my dentist made it very clear I needed the surgery that day they confirmed that was fine. I called right before the surgery to find out they weren't going to do the surgery that day. They never submitted the pre authorization when I made the appointment. Then they proceeded to tell me certain things wouldn't be covered by insurance and that I would need to pay out of pocket for those things. She swore over her 1r years of experience she was right. I called my insurance after they confirmed she was wrong and that my insurance does in fact pay for all of it. They also confirmed they should have submitted the paperwork a month ago and they knew this. I can't speak for the work he does but I can speak of the office and staff. It's just not right to lie to patients to get payments upfront and book appointments under false pretenses. I went to the oral surgeon in terrible pain I had an infection over a tooth that had a root canal and a cap on it already done one year ago. The Oral surgeon called my dentist to discuss my case and performed the needed treatment to relieve my pain and clear up the infection. With all the negative reviews I was nervous to bring him in but dr brookstone was the only oral surgeon covered by his insurance that would treat a pt under 10. From the moment we walked in the staff was super inviting and friendly which helped my son feel much more comfortable. I have been using this office for a few years now and every time I go in there the staff is very friendly and professional. I have a big fear of dentist and they always make me feel very comfortable and calm. Dr brookstone is the best in the business in my opinion.

I was cautiously optimistic when I went since I had read all the reviews and they were hit or miss. I had plenty of questions and he answered them all. He wasn't holding my hand but he did what I expected him to do as a surgeon. He explained why he needed to pull my tooth, he answered ALL of my questions, he didn't let me feel a thing, and he removed my tooth and the infection within minutes. Doctor Brookstone genuinely cares about your wellbeing and your oral health. He is serious about his career and brilliant at what he does. Doctor Brookstone cares about his patients I can attest to that. One December day, approaching Christmas break I needed him in an emergency situation. My daughter had a situation where her jaw was locked where she could not open/close her mouth without pain. I immediately called Dr. Brookstone's office only to be told that he has left for vacation with his family and could not be reached. However, his receptionist assured me that she would try to get him while he was on his way to the airport. Afterall, as a mother I was frantic that my daughter was in pain and I couldn't get in touch with my oral surgeon. It was Christmas week and difficult to get a doctor. Shortly after I spoke to the receptionist I received a call from Doctor Brookstone as he was boarding a plane to start his family vacation. He was empathetic, compassionate and understanding that his patient needed him and he made it his priority to contact me to discuss my daughter's issue. He called my drugist to prescribe medication to ease her pain and a muscle relaxer to help her with the opening and closing of the mouth. This is the kind of professional Doctor Brookstone is. Dr. Brookstone went above and beyond to help with this situation even though he was on route for his vacation. He is a wonderful person. And if it wasn't for the persistence of the receptionist who answered the phone that morning to help me; It would have been a long horrible week of discomfort for my daughter. And, enormous stress to me as her mother who would go to any length to help her child. We also do not have any dental insurance. Doctor Brookstone's prices are fair and he deserves every penny. We are grateful to him, to his staff who have always been pleasant and respectful. It's been 15 years and Dr. Brookstone is our family oral surgeon. Wisdom tooth extractions are covered by Fidelis Care/ Medicaid. Why should we have to do it elsewhere. Either you stop accepting Fidelis Care/ Medicaid patients or you perform the extraction.

ZERO PERSONALITY

My family has been using Dr. Brookstone for years and he has always been a pleasure. He is very knowledgeable and fast! His staff gets you in and out and is very professional. Would highly recommend this practice.

My son had to have a molar extracted by Dr. Brookstone 5 days before he moved South. He had 4 wisdom teeth extracted by another Oral surgeon with no issue at another time and all went fine with no sedation. The experience he had with Dr. Brookstone was not good. He felt like his jaw was going to break. He had to return to have the stitches out and that was done. He moved and was in horrific pain. Called the office and said I think I feel a tooth fragment and the receptionist said he would still be in pain (6 days at this point) She also told him to stop googling! Long story short he went to an oral surgeon in NC and he LEFT A BONE FRAGMENT IN HIS GUM. How did they not see this when removing the stitches??? WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. BROOKSTONE.

They are super Rude and discriminate people who has governments insurance. they should not be practicing. when I told what insurance I have she told me is book, but when I told I gonna pay cash she has an opening.

The dentist is a wonderful dentist no complaints, however the Dominican girl with the bun, is very nasty very rude just disgusting. Cursing while I and another patient sit here waiting. I would love to give this place 5 stars but I can't.

I read the reviews and I went to this office with an open mind. The staff at the front desk was very accommodating in making my appt. I was in pain for several days and they were able to get me in that day to see the Dr. I’m not here to write a review on the attitudes of the office staff. I’m here to say the office is a complete disaster. It doesn’t look like it has been cleaned in about 20 years. Old equipment, I understand that If it still works, use it. I’m talking old oxygen tanks from what looked like world war 2- there’s no way anything like that still works or is up to today’s standards in healthcare. The department of health needs to take a visit here. I had questions about the procedure (as anyone would) Dr. Brookstone took sometime with me (reluctantly) and we both came to the decision I could wait to get my wisdom tooth pulled (thank god) What really made me upset was there was a young man recovering from his procedure and they put him in this small closet in the hall with his mom sitting next to him. As we were walking out the mother saw Dr Brookstone and asked for some help. He shrugged her off and yelled out “someone help her” with an attitude. No concern for the patient. It wasn’t an emergency but at least address her, she is worried about her son. The whole recovery in a closet in a hallway rubbed me the wrong way too. I’ve seen Dr Brookstone several times over the years and have never once had a problem. I’m afraid of dentists to begin with so I always opt for anesthesia. I come to the office, take my yearly x-Rays, update paperwork and wait. Doctor comes in, asks me what’s going on, I tell him pull this tooth and knock me out. Bam. Once I wake up in recovery I’m good to go. Never once had a problem with attitude or infection or bad manners from staff. Not everyone has a great day every day so you’d have to expect at some point someone is going to be tired or upset or mad and take it out on you. Put on your big people undies and move along. I am so happy with my entire experience at this office. The staff was all very nice and while Dr. Brookstone himself wasn’t as friendly he was an EXCELLENT oral Sergeant. I went to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, two separate times and it was the quickest process ever. I didn't wait for a long time, and if I remember correctly it only took about 15 minutes total! I went to my follow up appointments, and everything after that was smooth sailing. The staff was nice and accommodating, and the doctor was quick, but rarely talked. His main concern was if there was any pain, allergies, etc, and preference of getting your teeth removed. I have been a patient of Dr. Brookstone, for over 15 years. He has treated me for several very complicated dental issues. I have always found him to be a very serious, focused, and precise professional, and he has trained his staff to be the same. A man of very few words, when dealing with me as a patient, he has always, in a no nonsense way, explained the problem, and the necessary treatment. If you want laughs and jokes, go to a comedy club. If you want the best oral surgeon on Long Island, Dr. Brookstone is your man!

My daughter had a back molar removed. He explained everything. She went into recovery and was given post op instructions. All the staff are friendly and put you at ease.

Extremely rude staff and RUDE dentist. The only nice person In the whole office was the dentists assistant, she was very sweet. While waiting to be called back, the receptionist was playing a YouTube video extremely loud and talking non stop about what was going on in the video .. but I mean she was borderline YELLING non stop for 10 minutes. Horrible attitudes in office. Karen that answers phones gave me a nasty attitude because I asked for her name due to bad attitude. I bravely made my appointment this morning to get several teeth extracted . I brought in my flippers for replacement and I was mentally ready to go through this procedure . The staff was lovely . To my surprise Dr Brookstlone entered the room where I was waiting and not even a good morning . So I said it to him. He looked st my papers and reminded me that the procedure was different from the last time and it looked like he had to extract more teeth and became critical that the flippers should have been done after the extraction .I told him that I had chicken out the first time . His attitude was like “Look I’ll do it if they fit. When it came time to ask me about deciding to get gas or put to sleep he rudely said my iinsurance would not cover it and that the gas would just relax me . Would give zero stars if i could ...Worst bedside manner for a dentist ever , don’t offer children’s dental work if you aren’t kid friendly Didn’t introduce himself to my 10 year old or me he was scared to death , didn’t explain anything until I asked , assistant was a doll and sweet but this dentist doesn’t smile , shake hands or make eye contact .it was time to start and decide I’f we were going to use Anesthesia or not and he then asked me to leave while my son had tears dripping and SAID nothing to him to make him not scared .... and made me leave the room after i asked to stay while they put him to sleep ... to boot ...There was another child in the room next door screaming her head off and his method was to say stop crying so I can do the work ...best part of the whole process was is was over in 5 minutes .... but even after the procedure dentist didn’t come say how are you buddy or talk to me and passéd us 10 times ... I’m only giving one star due to the dr was nice but the ladies in the office are nasty. They always rude on the phone not nice at all. I had to do their job by calling my insurance over a bill that they messed up on and even when I went there they called my insurance which I know hey have to but no need to verify everything on speaker phone I don’t like my personal information out in the open. I would go back to this office unless they have different women up phone and he should have his girls be trained and do there job correctly and not harsh the patient when clearly the billing dept. made the the mess up. This place was absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I went to my dentist which was amazing bc since my insurance isn't the best I couldn't find a oral surgeon to take me. My dentist told me about dr. Brookestone and that I could go to him but they don't have much history in him. I called and the woman I spoke to was very nice so I made the appt which she gave me THAT day (should of told me something if a oral surgeon and take me that fast) I took the appt and went in. As soon as I walked in I went to the front desk and the woman gave me the nastiest look like why am I here and standing in front of her. I told her my name and she gave me papers and told me to fill them out asap so they can get me in. I filled out the papers and went back up to her, I asked her if she needed my insurance card or anything from me. She told me "sure". I asked if she needed my license, she said "sure". Does she not know how to do her job? So, then the assistant came out and called my name. She was short but nice. Told me to sign my name for the consent form so they can get started and told me to wait for the doctor. Like someone else in the reviews said, he came in and did t even make eye contact. Asked me "what are you here for?", I told him I have 3 wisdom teeth that I needed out. He asks me "why?". I told him I have one of them cracked and they are all making my mouth uncomfortable and painful. He asked "ok fine so are you being knocked out or no?" I said if my insurance covers it I would like to be out for it. All of a sudden the assistant was pulling my sleeve up and he threw a tourniquet on my arm and I was out. I woke up 20 mins later of him saying to the assistant that they need to get me out of the room now. They assistant walked me into the room and put me into a smaller room to wake up. I asked if they could get my mom. She was sitting in the room with me and the assistant came in asking how I was feeling, I told her the one side I already felt pain (how is that possible when they were soppuse to use Novocaine and knocked me out also?) so the dentist can over (never asked me how I was feeling or introduced himself to my mom, said nothing to me!) looked at the asstsnt and asked what's going on why isn't she out. She told her I felt pain and he said fine put her in the room we'll give her more. Once he did, they told me I was done and I could leave. Seriously?! The rudest people I have EVER met in my life. I was in that office for all of 20 mins. Another office told me bc I don't have the greatest insurance that the oral surgeon sometimes treat you terrible. I had an infected, back tooth extracted today. Cold, nasty woman at front desk. Was called in by an assistant who was the only nice person I experienced in that whole office, which looked like an office from the 1970's. She took x rays and I told her I could not have epinephrine in the Novocaine and wrote it on the paperwork. She said to mention it to Dr. when he came in. Dr came in, seemed rushed, no eye contact, talked like a drill sergeant. Asked me what I was there for and I told him. I told him no epinephrine in my novacaine. He says to me, " You said it a few times already, I only need to hear it once." Terrible bedside manner. He gave me 2 shots, waited till I was numb, then shoved something in my mouth to keep it open. I've had teeth pulled before so I knew what to expect. He starts yanking and I still felt pain. Twice he told me I WAS NOT feeling pain and to stop moving. He starts drilling and tells me "now this is what would cause you pain, you feel anything?" He gets the tooth out, puts one stitch in, shoves gauze halfway down my throat, and while he's leaving the room says "you're done'. The very nice assistant took me into a little room to wait for my instructions. She tells me I have to come back in a week to get the ONE stitch taken out. I leave with my gauze, instructions and appointment to come back in a week. Appointment never written down on a card. Half hour later my CVS app on my phones buzzes. I have 2 new prescriptions ready. I look and it's two scripts from Dentist's office. No one ever told me I was getting any prescriptions. Although I had a little pain during the procedure, the whole experience felt like an assembly line of disgruntled factory workers from beginning to end.... except for the Dr's assistant, she's the only reason for the 2 stars. This was an amazing place! Doc pulled tooth and I asked when he would be starting and he was already done! He can put the (dental) anesthesiologist out of business; numbs you so well and extracts your tooth with confidence & ease. Staff were upbeat and very supportive. I'm on my third extraction and wouldn't recommend anyone else!

WOW! i needed a molar back extraction, i was scared crapless. Very nice staff. Waited a few minutes after my scheduled appointment.. Dr. Brookstone thoroughly explained everything as he preformed the procedure. Boom! 10 minutes later it was over,no pain. He took the time to explain post op procedure and answered all of my questions himself. i was very pleased. i think he might be a Yankee fan (nobody"s perfect)

Went to Dr. Brookstone and he was just fabulous. The staff was nice and helpful with regards to my insurance and what I needed to do. The doctor made my surgery seem easy. He was so quick and it was over so fast. I went to sleep and it was one of the best doctor and doctor office experiences I have ever had. Go see him you will not be disappointed. Had a great experience at this office. It has been one week since I had my wisdom teeth removed, and just left after having my stiches removed. Both visits were great. He is a great great doctor, and really good at what he does. The surgery experience was easy, and my recovery was pretty good and quick.. Staff and doctor are great. Nobody wants surgery but this office was tops.

The Dentist was ok, the dental assistant was great, but the front desk staff needs to be replaced. I am a very friendly person, so I know it was not me. The front desk was very unfriendly and borderline rude. Would not Recomended to any enemies I have.

I'm really happy I found Dr. Brookstone. He's a very good doctor and his staff is also very nice. He's straight forward; tell him what you're in for and he's ready to start working. It's a easier process like that. When you're there, your nerves are high and to me, I want to be in and out as soon as possible. I also like the fact that he gives you all the medications you need upfront. Dr. Brookstone removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth and a really badly cracked molar. I did 2 wisdom teeth one year and the other 2 around 2 years after and finally my molar which was done recently and that was 2 years from my last visit. Each visit I was put to sleep. I had 3 appointments with this doctor and all 3 I was put to sleep. I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed and a really had molar. Everyone went smooth. Very happy.
