Dr McCormack showed very little care to me during the 3-4 visits I had with her. Very by the book, cold but at the same time seemed easily offended/triggered when I suggested medication that I've heard from friends/family that might work for my situation.
If you want to be discriminated against go here. She's no regard for people's personal freedoms or choices and is honestly just a disgusting selfish human being.
My wife previously used this office, and I was looking for a new provider. It was suggested I give her a try. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this provider as someone you should visit to aid in managing your health. First, interpersonal skills are lacking, which left me wondering if there might be mental deficiencies with this provider. She, as others have stated, practically doesn't hear, or care that you're talking. She will interrupt you constantly. I'd say 80% of the time she was talking, 15% of the time she was staring into space, and 5% of the time she might have heard something I said. Second, she tries to confine you (again, as others have stated) to a specific "medical group", by going down a check list. Yes, a checklist. If you try to elaborate on anything, it is outside of her scope of understanding. So, what does she do? She avoids the information, your desire to express what you've been going through, and reverts right back to her checklist. Third, she is not open to "your" ideas. Unless it is stated in the book she can understand, it doesn't exist. Overall, this has to be the oddest experience I've ever had with a medical practitioner. The receptionist is great, and would probably do better in a more professional, and educated facility. Unfortunately, she doesn't even get enough of my respect to have the distiguishment of an M.D. I simply refer to her as "That lady". Perhaps "Medical Text Interpretor" would be more fitting. We won't be back ???? My wife previously used this office, and I was looking for a new provider. It was suggested I give her a try. I looooove Dr. Mccormack and Kristen!!!!!!!!!!!! They're so personable and friendly! She helped get my high blood pressure under control and will call you RIGHT back when you leave a message <3
Professional, listens to me, takes into consideration what works best for my body, called to follow up when a pharmacy wouldn't fill my prescription, patient and kind when my children were fussy in her office, easy to get in to see her.
I have been going to Dr. McCormack's office for 5+ years. She is professional, takes time to listen and is easy to schedule with. She now has a phlebotomist to draw blood in her office which is convenient. I have been to so many doctors and clinics as I've moved throughout the Portland area but I always end up back at her office. She does refer out for issues she feels would be better suited for a specialist and I appreciate that. However, she suggested the exact same protocol and medication for my migraines that the 2 neurologists I've seen--citing newer studies about the drug's efficacy. She knows her stuff and I'm so glad to have a Dr who cares. I have been going to Dr. McCormack's office for 5+ years. She is professional, takes time to listen and is easy to schedule with. This is not a real Dr office, they just refer you to actual doctors for a fee. Save yourself the hassle and time, they won't stop calling me while I am at work. She needed me to go somewhere else for an x-ray, another place for lab work and probably to a real doctor to review the results afterward~ She asked me what my gender identity is... I'm male, regardless if how I identify as a doctor you will be treating me in my current condition... then she asked my sexual orientation... with the yoga music playing in the background I was suprized she didn't try to heal me with crystals~ Don't go here This is not a real Dr office, they just refer you to actual doctors for a fee. Been going to Dr McCormack for a few years now. I love the small office. Always easy to get an appt. Never have to wait for very long. No waiting in the patient room forever wondering where the Dr is. Personalized care. And she remembers me and what's going on so I don't feel like just a number.
I have been going to Dr. McCormack for years and she is very thorough and spends a lot of time with me and I never feel rushed. You can always get in and she is ALWAYS kind. So do not pay attention to the reviews that say otherwise. It is like having your own personal physician. Kristen the office gal is the nicest person on earth and goes the extra mile. She also is Dr. McCormicks nurse and gives the most pain free shots I have ever gotten. They are amazing!

I went to Dr. McCormacks for an annual wellness exam and while there, they had some generic lab testing performed and sent it of to a laboratory company. When doing so, they did not tell me that they only use one lab testing company. They also did not bother to check if my insurance would be covered through the laboratory services they use. So in the end, I’m having to pay full price out of pocket for labs that my insurance would have covered 100% if it was done using an in network lab. In addition, this dr ordered me to have an x Ray performed. She asked me herself where I would like to go and I told her that I didn’t have a preference and I just wanted to go somewhere my insurance covered. She then picked a imaging center that she said was the fastest. When I went there I was lucky enough to find out before the X-ray that my insurance was not covered by that company. I was pretty confused that my dr would send me there when I specifically said I wanted to go somewhere covered by my insurance. I was lucky enough to avoid paying that out of pocket service. After getting the bills I called to ask this Drs. office why they hadn’t used a lab that was covered by my insurance, they claimed that they don’t have access to that kind of information and they only use one lab service. I also asked why they didn’t bother to tell me about there very limited service as I would have seeked to get my labs performed elsewhere so I wouldn’t have to pay out of pocket. They then proceeded to say that they didn’t know what my insurance covered. Basically they said it’s not their responsibility to know what patients insurance covers and they don’t care what you’ll have to pay in the end. I didn’t know that I had to check where everything my in network doctor sends out of office if it’s covered by insurance. Would have been nice if they took a minute out of their time to explain that they only use one laboratory service and didn’t know their coverage on patients . Would have also been nice if they cared about what their patients have to pay. No remorse from the front office and I’m stuck paying these bills that could have been avoided. I like Dr. McCormack's honest, candid, practical approach and I almost feel like I have a private, personal doctor going to her. She has availability and is very attentive when you need to get in for something critical. I find that she goes into great detail when asking me about symptoms, and asks the questions that others might not take the time to so that she can really understand and get to the bottom of your problem. Her detail-oriented nature and thoroughness make me feel taken care of.
I suffer from chronic joint pain amongst other issues. The last two weeks have been particularly rough as I found a lump in my neck, can barely lift my arm because the lymph node is swollen in my armpit, and dealing with terrible stomach pains (some of which are worse than menstrual pains), AND troubles breathing along with sharp pains in my chest. However, instead of trying to figure out what was wrong- the doctor decided to focus on my nightly marijuana habit (in which I smoke to go to sleep and to not be in pain, nothing else works, I've tried) and did an unwarranted psychiatric evaluation and determined my depression and anxiety is caused by pot (even though, I've had such problems LONG before I ever started smoking) and instead of offering an alternative for my pain, swelling, and insomnia (which was my whole point of going to the doctors in the first place) stated that I was an "addict" and should "seek treatment". In the hour that I was there, 15 minutes was spent taking vitals and blood work. The other 45 minutes was being told how I have a "problem" and I'm "addicted" and being talked down to. I won't lie, it was humiliating. I still feel terrible about it. So, here I am, still sick, in tremendous amounts of pain, and no answers aside from "anxiety and depression due to marijuana dependence". My hands get so swollen and stiff, it's hard to even to my job now. I understand that yes, there is still stigmatism on marijuana. But instead of focusing on how bad and how mentally unhealthy I apparently am for using it, shouldn't a GOOD doctor focus on finding an alternative for the patient rather than talking down to them, talking OVER them while they try to explain themselves? Avoid this place if possible. I suffer from chronic joint pain amongst other issues. Literally saved my life. Walked in thinking I had bronchitis and within minutes Dr. McCormack insisted I go to the hospital by ambulance. I went to find out I had a very large blood clot in my lung. I have been going there for over 4 years and have never been disappointed. She along with Kristan are awesome. Highly recommended. Forever grateful. Literally saved my life. Been here less than a year and I do not recommend choosing Dr. McCormack as your primary doctor, unless all you need from her is birth control. She's noticeably biased amoungst many medical, homeopathic and medicational treatments you present to her, regardless of how harmless they are. And keep small talk to a minimum, all she does it reverse it back to her thoughts and theories. However, the front receptionist was great everytime I came in.
Excellent doctor with very good interpersonal skills. Is thoughtful and caring and does not talk down to patients.
