I transferred to Dr. Birkenholz at the age of 49-50, after being a patient of another OBGYN from the age of 18. My previous Doctor retired and the thought of finding another trusted advisor was daunting. the transition has been seamless. Dr. B has been simply wonderful. In my experiences she has always been thoughtful with our interactions and takes time to connect. She is likeable and relatable. I have appreciated her interest in supporting my needs during my season of life now. I have recommended others to her, including family members. I am thrilled to have landed with her and her team.

I absolutely love working with Columbus Metropolitan OBGYN and especially my doctor Michelle Birkenholz. I’ve been coming since for about 5 years now and from day one the staff have been a pleasure to work with, the office is always clean, and the atmosphere is always positive. Dr. Birkenholz is an amazing OB to work with and she listens to what the patient is saying and not just making a decision for them. She’s extremely trustworthy and through my first pregnancy she was supportive and extremely patient (because I asked a lot of questions). Friends have asked me about a gynecologist and my first words are go to Columbus Metropolitan OBGYN. I’ve worked with other doctors/nurse practitioners and I have no complaints! Dr. B is amazing. She made me feel so calm and relaxed through my entire pregnancy and delivery. Even when my body wasn't doing what it was supposed to, she stayed calm and caring about me and my baby. Best OBGYN EVER

I highly recommend Dr. Michelle Birkenholz and staff. If you are looking for a doctor who truly cares about her patients and listens to you. I am more than thankful for her, her nurse Lizzy and all the other staff. This pregnancy has been a breeze and I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for them.

There isn’t the right words to express how AMAZING Dr. Birkenholz (Dr.B) is. My pregnancy is high risk, and I have short cervix I was SOO scared!! She always did everything she could to reassure me and ease my mind. We found out at 20 weeks I was funneling with short cervix, I thought I would go into very early preterm labor, now I’m 34 weeks. If it’s meant to be it will happen but also have trust in your doctor. My mother goes to this practice, and I was delivered 28 years ago by a doctor that passed from Columbus Metropolitan OBGYN. We LOVE them! If you’re looking for a good OB, one that has a good personality and will laugh with you but be serious when it’s time.. go to Dr. B!!!! She’s awesome... I had a surgery scheduled months ago at another location and the day of, they just messed up something and I ended up at the ICU. Then someone recommended her and I want to her for consultation: she’s just amazing, she explains everything, takes her time with you and makes you feel better by the time you leave. I just had her redo that same surgery and thank God I left the same day with no issues and no ICU this time. I can’t thank her enough for making me feel better mentally and physically... Dr. Birkenholz is by far the best doctor I've ever been treated by. She has impeccable bedside manner and makes you feel very comfortable. Dr. B explains things in a way that's easy to understand. She delivered my daughter nearly 2 years ago and was there for me when I suffered a miscarriage a few months ago. Dr. Birkenholz is a doctor that I would consider to be a life-long doctor. I'm sad that I'm moving out of the Columbus area and will no longer be able to see her as my doctor. My next OB-GYN has a lot to live up to.

I recommend Dr Birkenholz to all of my girlfriends because not only is she personable and professional- but she actual seems invested in my care. She delivered my first baby a couple of years ago and will be delivering my second in a couple of months.

The best!!!! So down to earth and willing to explain anything. Beyond her approachability, she’s extremely sharp and trustworthy caring for you littles. Love her!

Dr. Michelle Birkenholz is such an amazing Ob! The staff are amazing and everytime I go in they treat me like we've have known eachother for years! I highly recommend this amazing baby doctor!

After being treated by another doctor and being very unhappy with the progress of treatment, I found Dr. B & have been very happy with my experience in her care. She not only listens to your concerns but she is a "take charge" kind of gal

She is amazing and She talks with you and listens to your concerns. she makes you feel comfortable during your visit. I love this Doctor!!

She seems to be knowledgble about many other conditions relating to womens health. She is a good listener and most important, gentle.

I had an appointment with Dr. Michelle Birkenholtz on 12/20/2016 for my first two month prenatal appointment where i would hear my baby's heartbeat for the first time and I was denied to be seen. First off when me and my boyfriend walked into the office the vibe was very dry and unwelcoming. I wasn't greeted happily, the office staff wasn't the nicest, nobody was smiling, it was very dry and uncomfortable. After I filled out all the paperwork the lady at the front desk called me back up and asked if I could make the first payment today which I was completely unaware of so she sent me back with the financial lady so we could discuss my options so I thought. Soon as I sat down with the lady she got straight to the point and pretty much said "This is our policy, you have to pay $358 today and every month you come in order to be seen". I was shocked by the amount she stated to me especially since I have Aetna insurance. I didn't have the money at the time but I told the lady I would get my check tomorrow and they could charge my card for the full amount first thing in the morning and she said let me go talk to the doctor and see what she says. So I waited and waited and finally she comes back and says, "so either you can pay the full amount of $2,500 today or you can pay the monthly amount of $358 or we can reschedule you for another day when you get the money but the doctor will not see you without a payment made today"...I was shocked!!! The lady was very rude and not understanding or helpful at all, she also told me "we don't know you because you're a new patient so we don't trust that you are going to actually make the payment". I was disgusted by the way I was treated and how the doctor just completely denied seeing me. I left the office very upset and I started making some phone calls to other doctors offices asking them how much would I have to pay for my first prenatal visit there under my insurance and every single office I called told me I only have to pay my Copay amount on my insurance card which is $35 and I would have my first check up and afterwards they will bill to Aetna and see how much left I will have to pay every month if any. I also told one office what just happened with Dr. Birkenholz and the lady new exactly what office I was talking about and even told me that they charge extra for delivery which makes your monthly costs way more than what it should be and that they are very expensive. I would not recommend Dr. Michelle Birkenholz to anyone or this office in general. The office isn't even nice and clean it looks really old and small like they need to remodel. Thankfully I scheduled an appointment for the next day with another office that is way better and more well known where I only have to pay $35 and I will have my precious baby checked out by doctors who actually care! I have gone to Dr. Birkenholz a couple times now and she was phenomenal. I went to her for some common feminine issues that I was experiencing and she gave me a solution that gave me instant results. The facilities were clean and staff friendly. I plan on going back again soon here for my annual.

Dr. Birkenholz is the BEST OBGYN, hands down. I would never ever trust another doctor like I do her. She has delivered both of my kids; and the relationship we have built over the years is unbreakable. She wasn't just a doctor to me, she was a friend. During my last pregnancy, I found out my husband was cheating on me. I can't tell you how many times I cried in her arms. She would just hold me, and comfort me like we were best friends. Sometimes she would sit in the room with me for 30+ minutes giving me relationship advice and trying to help me through my pain, when she had a waiting room full of other patients. She never disregarding my feelings. She never rushed me through my appointments. She was there, and she was amazing. Looking back (my daughter is 9 months old now), I don't know if I woulda made it through my pregnancy without her. She is so compassionate, caring, kind, loving, loyal, I honestly can't say enough good things about her. She refused to let anyone else deliver either of my kids...on call or not. That's amazing. I love her so so much. I highly recommend her; to EVERYONE. I wish I had more time to go into great detail all the amazing things she did for me, just being an OBGYN. The best doctor, hands down. She is the most compassionate, caring, loving, amazing woman I have ever met. I am so thankful I found her, because she's not only a doctor to me...she's a friend. She truly cares. I can't say enough amazing things about her! ?

Very poor communication and preparedness both before and after test results. Long wait to see Dr. and then she was not prepared. Had not reviewed my case and had to find the records faxed weeks before by another doctors. Assistant did not return calls in time promised.

I switched drs a couple times during my last pregnancy bc I just didn't feel like I was finding a good fit for my childbirth goals. In my search for a new doctor, I found Dr. B & have been very happy with my experience in her care. I ended up having a vaginal delivery 9 hrs after the hospital nurses had recommended a c-section bc she told them I needed more time. She also stood behind my birth plan 100%. I now drive from Granville for my prenatal appts, because I want to have the same experience

She is the best - she makes me want to keep having babies! I've never felt rushed or like she's needing to get on with her day - the exact opposite actually; she spends more time with me than I'd expect from a busy doctor to address my questions, explain upcoming appointments, etc. Personable, professional and you just get the vibe that she cares about you as a patient and a person. Highly, highly recommend.

She really made me comfortable the first time I saw her. I wasn't looking for surgery as a cure, but am I glad she made the decision much easier for me. I previously had breast cancer and was having problems with my ovaries and cycles. I would recommend anyone to see her. She took time to explain how keeping them and losing them would affect me and ultimately left the decision to me. I am two months post hysterectomy and feel like a new woman. Thank you Dr. B, you are the best!
