The entire staff is really nice. I’ve been here quite a few times and have never been treated badly or rudely. Their wait times isn’t bad either! Highly recommend this eye doctor!! Will not disappoint!

Friendly staff and Dr. Vollmer has always been wonderful. I've been going to him for over 30 years.

This is a very nice office! You get excellent service with reasonable rates! I'm so appreciative to them.

I have been a patient here for years, and always have a great experience at this office. Dr. Vollmer has always taken great care of all of my vision needs. They always get me in for an exam in a very timely manner.

Dr volmer was very compassionate and professional made sure i left satisfied with my chpices!

Dr Vollmer is amazing I had broke my glasses an they were 8 years old I was broke he waived my Dr visit an discounted my frames I had them 3 weeks a good so called samaratian helped my husband when I was having a seizure an so rudely didn't return my brand new frames I called Dr Vollmer s office an he replaced my frames of a different kind as the ones I had were discontinued an no longer available...His nurses well some are easier to get along with than others on another visit I had my contacts in an had gotten something under them an as hard as I had tried I couldn't stop from rubbing them I had went to the er an they had given me eye drops an also the numbing drops that I wasn't supposed to get do to the fact I could damage my eye I had to promise the hospital Dr that I would ONLY use at night to get some relief so I could sleep when I went for my follow up with dr.vollmer he gave me another antibiotic because he said the one given at the hospital wasnt strong enough alone he's an amazing Dr I can't speak well enough of this Dr one of the best I've ever been to he's been nothing but a kind understanding Dr I have been to some Drs where money was there only concern dr.vollmer trying cares about you as a patient an as a human which I believe some Drs loooe sight of Dr Vollmer is amazing I had broke my glasses an they were 8 years old I was broke he waived my Dr visit an discounted my frames I had them 3 weeks a good so called samaratian helped my husband when I was having a seizure an so rudely didn't … More

The office staff is great, but the doctor is amazing and he understands how hard times are, so he helped me as much as possible. He takes medicade, I don't have it but my daughter does and she was seen by him also

I had a very bad expierence there. Went in cause I needed new glasses and I could tell. So I go in and they dilate, take one 5 minute looks at my eyes and let me pick glasses and that's it. Didn't even do a proper eye exam. I go to pick up my glasses and I can't see out of them. They like you just gotta get used to it. Okay so I tried that and and I didn't get used to them so i went back and told them and all they did was put my old prescription in a new frame. And took my insurance money. Will never go back there. My experience has not been good. It has taken 5 weeks to have new lenses put into my old frames. I am not sure where the exact problem occurred but I know the staff takes no initiative to follow up on problems and delays. For the laboratory to be contacted, I had to repeatedly call or go by. Many promised deliveries went unmet. In my opinion, this doctor is very much overwhelmed with patients. My exam was very brief without much discussion at all.

I had a very bad experience at this office. The nurses had no respect for the doctor and he let them run all over him. One nurse openly argued with the doc in the doorway of the examination room in front of the patient he had in there, plus myself and two other patients outside. Another nurse laid her head down on the retinal camera, acting like she was wore out from a long days work (it was 9 am) while I was sitting in the chair waiting for it to reset. The Doc wrote my prescription in a code, some kinda math formula to make it harder to read. The receptionist couldn't find where my insurance covered a routine exam and I had to pull up the policy on my phone and show her before, then wait over the weekend and have the insurance co contacted to prove it was covered. When looking for contacts and comparing prices I called and they quoted me over $70 a box and said they matched 1-800 contacts prices. When I told the lady 1-800 contact were $57 a box she said "well we have them for $70." and refused to acknowledge she was advertising false information. Patient and professional while creating a comfortable environment. I feel at home at Dr Volmer’s office. For over 15 years Dr. Volmer has helped my Family.

I saw Dr Vollmer went through all the eye test,got my script for glasses and contacts. I did pay for all services out of pocket. The day I picked glasses up I couldn't see out of them. I tried to wear them thinking I just needed to get use to them. I did talk to staff telling them I could not see with them. They didn't get my scripts right I could not see and they wanted more money. Needless to say I told them I was not going to give them more money when they couldn't get it right the first time. They charge way too much for contact lenses when you can go elsewhere for same brand cheaper

Great Doctor. Very poor staff that changes regularly. If you can look past the bad staffing up front he is a very good doctor. I can attest for over 10 years service until I'd had enough and switched.

I have been going here for about 15 yrs and I like the Dr he will work with u on payments and get u the right Rx u need to be able to see good

I always have a good experience. I pay out of pocket for my glasses and always give me frames for cheap usually half price.

The exam went smoothly and that's where it stopped. They said my glasses would be in in 2 weeks. Problem was the lab didn't get the order in until 21 days after the exam. Finally got my glasses after 8 weeks of waiting. But they sent the lab the wrong address, I had to go to Ashe to get my glasses. I live in Wilkes. This is my first and last time dealing with Dr. Vollmer's office. The exam went smoothly and that's where it stopped. They said my glasses would be in in 2 weeks. I've been going to Dr. Vollmer for 6 years now and have always had a great experience. Dr. V seems very knowledgeable. I liked being able to buy contacts lens there cheaper than Walmart or 1800contacts. Frame selection isn't great though. Overall, highly recommend.

By far the worst eye doctor experience I've ever had. Not only did he tell me I was "a pretty girl but should lose weight" (which I'm average). I ordered contacts in December. No one called me. They told me they were waiting, I then went to pick them up--- they closed without notice because they didn't have enough staff that day... I called to get them sent to me with the promise of having a call when they did--- (I live in a different county). It's march. Horrible office!!

I have been going to DR. Vollmer since I was 15 and I'm now 35 I love this Dr.Vollmer and there is no way I would go to anyone else. he is super nice and he cares about his patients. Thanks Dr. Vollmer you are GREAT! THANKS FOR BEING A WONDERFUL DR. Joy Welch

VERY DISSATISFIED . THE STAFF HAS NO COMMUNICATION WITH PATIENTS... ... . WAITED 10 WEEKS TO GET MY GLASSES. BECAUSE THEY HAD TO KEEP GETTING SENT BACK. I DON'T EVEN THINK I COULD RATE THEM A ONE STAR ..... !!!!

Had an good experience with them, some staff members are better then others. But overall Ok. 1 suggestion make sure you get your prescription after your eye exam.

The doctor is good but the office staff is THE WORST! Would not recommend :(

Worst staff I have ever seen, I went for an appointment never got a prescription. Asked 9 times to have them email it to me over a 3 week period and yet they couldn't even do that. Most incompetent staff ever. I would never recommend this office to anyone better to go to any other office in Wilkesboro, NC. Some of the staff were unable to use the machines that they were trained to use. PATHETIC staff has the competency of a 4 yr old.

The staff was very unfriendly . And unhelpful. I visited the office 6 times my glasses that sent back two times .Not to mention it took 10 weeks . I have Never been so unsatisfied with a eye doctors office Ever!!!....Would Not Recommend Anyone To Go HERE!!!

The staff seemed to be very friendly, but the service seemed very chaotic and slow!
