Dr. Michael Allen Thompson

Be willing to wait hours to see DR. Thompson. When I got to my appointment on time I was told there were 6 people ahead of me. He is known for being late. He may be very good but I will never know. Scheduled with another doctor. Something needs to be done with scheduling less patients so there is not so long a wait.

Dr. Thompson is THE BEST! The ER told me I would most likely need surgery for my broken wrist but Dr. Thompson didn't push for that and was able to reduce my wrist to heal properly. He even stayed late on a Friday to make sure I was able to start my healing process asap instead of scheduling me for a different day. I really appreciate him taking a conservative approach instead of just scheduling a surgery. I can tell he really cares about his patients and always advocates for the best care. I came to Dr. Thompson for the reconstruction of my finger after losing the nail and a good amount of tissue due to skin cancer. He performed 3 surgeries on my finger. He was always thorough when explaining the process and details of the procedures. He treated me as an equal and had a great sense of humor. He did a fantastic job of making my finger look as normal as possible. I couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon. Dr. Thompson is a consummate professional. Thorough, skilled, and efficient without losing that great "bedside manner" that makes all the difference in patients' experiences. He mentioned he had reviewed my chart the night before and morning of (my appointment) and it showed.

Dr. Thompson is the best of the best! He has dedicated his life to helping his patients. I can't recommend him enough.

I cut two nerves on my hand. First the ER send me to see a plastic surgeon and I was not satisfied so I call the Script orthopedic. I met with Doctor Thompson for about an hour when he explained what my injury is and how we will fixed that. The surgery went well and I am recovering. He and his staff were very nice and have done everything to help the process of the surgery and the recovery. I recommend him for any orthopedic injury. He is the best. Thanks to him.

I would highly recommend Dr. Thompson to anyone requiring hand surgery. He's Number 1 in my book!!!

Dr. Thompson is amazing. Rare to find a Doctor who genuinely cares about his patients the way he does. He is an excellent surgeon and very thorough in his follow up appointments.. Highly recommend him!!!

Dr. Thompson - and his staff - are wonderful. I broke my wrist, and he saw me without an appointment, and scheduled surgery right away. He is caring, spends time with his patients, and I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Came in on Tuesday after my son broke his hand Sat late night/Sunday am... we went to Pomerado ER as it was closer, big mistake! After the run around getting our X-rays, we were able to get in to Dr. Thompson... he worked and worked and worked to try and get my son’s finger back in alignment. We are headed to surgery on thursday, but feel confident as he is top notch and we have already been through their OT team from a prior injury. Really great doctor!

I scheduled an appointment mid June to be seen at the Torrey Pines location at 2. I got a call confirming the RB clinic at 330. When I called the receptionist said that I scheduled with RB at 330 and that's what the note shows. She was rude, unaccomidating, and frankly could have given a damn that I've been in pain for almost 4 weeks waiting. When I said that I was upset and would be reviewing them and getting ahold of the doctor she told me basically she didn't care. You know you'd think someone in this business would care and if she is any indication of what this doctor is like I'm glad I dodged that bullet. Had my fractured pinky in a cast not even surrounding the pinky. Wasted huge amounts of money and 2 months of being in a cast with no results. The doctor who set my finger did a fantastic job but Thompson is just out to get your money. I DO NOT recommend under any circumstances going to this doctor.

I first met Dr. Thompson when my son injured his finger playing basketball. He was so thorough and caught the fact that he actually had broken his finger right where the tendon attached, saving my son future injuries. Then it was my turn. I required Dr. Thompson's surgical expertise for an 8-hour reconstruction surgery. I awoke post surgery to his smiling, reassuring face. He even visited a couple more times in the hospital to check that I was doing ok. I appreciate the care, the skill and the humanity of this talented surgeon. Dr. Thompson is the best of the best. He is a kind and compassionate Doctor who truly cares about his patients. I have undergone two hand surgeries and Dr. Thompson has taken excellent care of me. I saw Dr. Thompson for an orthopedic issue after mediocre success with 2 other doctors and was totally successful with Dr. Thompson. He is a consummate professional with an excellent demeanor and bedside manor. Moreso than any other health professional I have been seen by in San Diego, Dr. Thompson has a personal concern for his patients' well-being like none I have ever seen in this region.
