About Michael A. Shternfeld
Reviews for Michael A. Shternfeld
I've had sinus and allergy issues for years. Should have pulled the trigger a long time ago, but I finally scheduled an ENT appointment and couldn't be happier with Dr. Shternfeld. After consultation, testing, and a CT scan, he suggested a Balloon Sinuplasty. The results were nothing short of life changing. Literally. I can comfortably breathe again, am clearing my throat less, and haven't had a sinus infection since the procedure. I'm also getting weekly allergy shots that have made a huge difference. He and his staff are the best. Very kind and knowledgeable group of people!
(See edit) Profitable for office but not for me. Lots of testing but little value-add insight. Had to sign off on ‘nasal endoscopy’ so they could bill it as a ‘procedure’ but was nothing more than looking up my nose. Dr did not make an effort to interpret allergy testing results. Edit: Received a prompt follow-up call from the doctor, who was able to provide more feedback on the test results and a clearer strategy for the recommended treatment phases. I recommend Dr. Shternfeld's office very highly for their great care, attention to detail and successful resolution of the long standing problem that I came to see them for.
The knowledge and professionalism comes with a friendly and pleasant environment, their dedication helping their patients and seek the help they need is refreshing, As opposed to being just another number! A big Thank you To you and your staff.
I had an ear issue that gave me feel of liquid presence. It was felt when I pressed the ear gap. I went to other ENT 4 month ago but the could not solve it just gave me a flonase. Dr. Shternfeld just took 5 min to solve it with great care and explanation.
Simply Amazing! I am fascinated by the doctor's behavior and skills. Perfect hand in seeing the patient very carefully and taking effective steps. His friendly demeanor is to be commended. I wish him all the best. Once again, Thank you doctor for giving my comfortable life back. May Almighty bless you. Simply Amazing! I am fascinated by the doctor's behavior and skills. The best!
The doctor resolved my long-standing nasal breathing problem with an office procedure, which took less than 20 minutes. Very happy and grateful. Highly recommended!
The audiologist was great. However, while I was sitting in the exam chair, one of the support staff shoved a paper in my lap stating that I would be getting a nasal endoscopy and needed to sign the paper. It was awkward and uncomfortable and I signed without obtaining more information from my insurance company. Also, I felt that the physician had a diagnosis already in mind before he even examined me and he wasn't concerned with anything I tried to tell him. Basically, he told me that I didn't have a problem with my ears. A few days later, I went to a walk in clinic because my ears were still bothering me. An APRN found fluid in my ears caused by allergies and a sinus infection. I was prescribed an antibiotic and started feeling better shortly after. I will not return to this ENT practice. Dr. Shternfeld is great! Staff is friendly and the office is clean!
After so long of not be able to breath well I saw Dr. Shternfeld at his South Windsor office. Testing revealed that I was a candidate for a Balloon Sinuplasty. The procedure was performed and I feel like a new person. The doctor and the office staff were great. If you think you have a sinus breathing problem, go there.
The office staff was great along with Dr Shternfeld. I had thought I may have broken my nose (luckily I hadn't) but was still having trouble breathing. The doctor discovered I have a deviated septum but rather than have a major operation, he was able to do an in office laser procedure and now I'm finally able to breath through my nose with no issues! I was referred by my PCP to Dr. Shternfeld when I experienced double pitches in one of my ears. A hearing test was performed indicating a severe loss of hearing in that ear. He put me on prednesone to reduce the swelling and ordered an MRI to insure there was no more sinister cause (thankfully) there was not. The steroid treatment did the trick, and I am very grateful to the doctor and his courteous, professional staff.
I would highly recommend Dr. Shternfeld. I came to Dr. Shternfeld with a hole in my eardrum. After several in-office procedures with limited results, Dr. Shternfeld asked me if I would consider a trial procedure. I agreed and Dr. Shternfeld utilized a cutting edge treatment resulting in tremendous success. This prevented me from the need of undergoing major surgery. He is on the forefront of modern technology and cares so much about his patients. Truly Grateful! Mark P.
I was having major difficulties breathing due to a deviated septum, but after a quick in office laser procedure that Dr Shtrenfeld performed I can breathe through my nose again with no issues.
Dr. Shternfeld is great! The balloon sinoplasty he performed on me has allowed me to breathe again!
I had sudden hearing loss in one ear after ringing in ear. The next day I called Dr. Shternfeld in South Windsor. They saw me immediately (full audiologist test confirming hearing loss). It was the doctor’s day off, however he came in due to sudden hearing loss. It was in the inner ear so I was put in prednisone. Hearing restored in full and all tests ( done quickly) are normal. Excellent experience and my hearing was saved because all involved treated it as an emergency and I am grateful.
I have been seeing Dr. MIchael Shternfeld for many years, both in surgery situations as well as allergy-related issues. He is always professional, polite, listens to my issue and gives a diagnosis which is clearly explained and easily understood. R.N. Nancy is also very professional and friendly. When I call the office with a medical concern, the office staff finds an appointment, as well as the follow-up visit, as soon as possible. I will continue to recommend Dr. Shternfeld to friends.
Excellent
I would highly recommend Dr. Michael Shternfeld & Balloon Sinuplasty procedure to anyone who has experienced similar allergy problems and on-going sinusitis as I have, you won’t regret the decision. What it’s like to be to be able to breathe again, this will be a life changing positive decision for you as much as it has been for me. Many Thanks to you Dr. Shternfeld & your amazing and talented staff of Manchester East, Nose & Throat Center. Here’s to happy and healthy breathing! Charles Lyman
I have had restricted breathing on the left side of my nose for decades. Deviated septum surgery 10 years ago provided no relief. After consulting with Dr. Shternfeld, he developed a plan of action that required an easy office visit and I walked out on my own when he was finished. A week after the procedure I will describe the results as a RAGING SUCCESS!! I'm so glad I found Dr. Shternfeld and would recommend anyone with breathing/sinus issues to look him up and see if he can help similarly.
Dr. Michael Shternfeld, is a fine doctor . Highly recommended. I put my full trust in him.
I must have had my appt on a off day. The doctor came into the room, briefly looked in my ears nose and throat and told me he "didn't think I had a brain tumor" but to get an MRI. I wasn't given an opportunity to describe any of the symptoms that I had been experiencing or talk about anything. The entire encounter was probably less than 2 minutes (for which I reviewed a $400+ bill for "initial hour consultation". Needless to say I didn't schedule the MRI and went to see another doctor.
I was having chronic sinus pain and congestion for several years. Dr. Shternfeld recommend that I have the balloon sinus dilation procedure done. I am so glad that I did. It was a very comfortable and easy procedure to have done, and it has made a remarkable improvement in my health. Now, I no longer need to take sinus congestion medication- which I was taking several times a week . Dr. Shternfeld is very Kind and thorough. The office staff is just as wonderful.
I have had chronic sinus pain & pressure for year with headaches on left side lasting sometimes for 3 days at a time . I had the balloon sinus dilation procedure done after an initial visit & a few tests to make sure it would be beneficial. It was!! The procedure was easy, painless & very effective. I can breath better & the pain & pressure is gone. Dr. Shternfeld was very pleasant & thorough in explaining all aspects of sinus issues. His staff is excellent & friendly. I highly recommend him
I had a very freak nasal injury that required emergency surgery. What superficially appeared to be minor was actually a 3 hour surgery rebuilding my entire nose from within. All told, 200-300 stitches were needed to repair the damage. I was very lucky to have Dr. Shternfeld as my ENT surgeon. He was extremely kind and very thorough in his explanation of what was done. Follow up visits have been informative and quick, his staff has been amazing. Nose is looking great now. Highly Recommend!
Dr. Shternfeld is not only excellent surgeon but caring physician.
Having suffered nasal polyps for 30 years, numerous surgeries to remove them, chronic sinusitus and only temporary relief with prednisone I opted to see Dr Shternfeld, Manchester Ear Nose & Throat Center LLC. He suggested the Balloon Sinuplasty and allergy shots to alleviate my symptoms. The procedure was done in the office and was quick and easy. The relief was immediate and 2 years later I still feel great. This was what I was looking for and changed my life. Highly recommended!!
Dr. Shternfeld seems very knowledgeable. He is able to diagnose the issue and provides a solution, but be careful about unneeded procedures. I was there for the results of my CAT scan and on the way out he put the scope in each nostril for about 1 second and there was a charge for $1200.00. He had just looked at my nostrils 1 month ago and could see the problem on the CAT scan, but needed the extra $1200.00 charge.
I recently went to Dr. Shternfeld after having numerous days of intense nose bleeds. He was excellent in his approach in fixing the problem veins. Follow up was great. He is caring, professional and a wonderful Dr. Thank you!!!
Dr. Shternfeld is very good at diagnosing why i was having trouble breathing through my nose and had a remedy for this, that he was able to perform in the office.Since the procedure i am breathing better than ever. The staff is very friendly, and the doctor's assistant / nurse Diane is a very competent, and valuable member of the team!
Dr.shtermfeld is very good at what he does. I had tried a lot of different medicines that my PCP suggested for what I thought was sinus. It was actually my allergies. The Dr. did a procedure on my nose which is amazing I can breath so much better and my headaches are much better He has a great bedside manner and his staff is great.
My daughter has been dealing with tonsil infections for years. It seemed that everyone BEFORE Dr. Shternfeld would brush it off as sore throat, sinus issues, allergies. While they may have contributed in some way, Dr. Shternfeld recommended the tonsils be removed. Since he has done the procedure, my daughter has not gotten sick once. He is extraordinarily empathetic, compassionate, reassuring and confident.
I had nasal polyops which were removed by Dr. Shterndfeld quickly and efficiently in the office! The Balloon Rhinoplasty Procedure took approximately 1 hr and the Dr was very gentle and caring while doing this! His nursing assistant, Diane, is a caring as the dr. I have severe allergies and was advised that this is what caused the polyops and my losing my sense of smell for over 2 years! I am thrilled to say that I would recommend this to all who suffer from sinusitis and allergies.
I had completely lost all hearing in my left ear due to a weird cold/infection I had. Dr. Shternfeld performed a small procedure in my ear and had me take an oral steroid to stop the infection and possibly reverse the hearing loss. About a month later I regained 87% of my hearing. I cannot explain just how appreciative I am to him and his staff. I would recommend him to anyone who needs an ENT Dr.
I recently took my two year old to see Dr. Shternfeld due to a raisin he had inserted in his nose. My son was a little apprenhensive about the whole situation. From the moment the doctor walked in the room, I was at ease. He knelt down to get on my son's level and was very tender with him. He asked him a couple of kid friendly questions and then explained to us what he was going to do. Then he proceeded to skillfully remove the raisin with ease from my son's nose. I highly recommend him!??
Michael was easy to talk to and answered any questions I had. I did not feel rushed at all while he was in the room talking to me. He is a great guy and the staff was a pleasure easy to deal with as well.
Dr. Shternfeld is very professional and caring. He was very thorough in explaining the sinus balloon procedure which I had done and gave expert advice in resolving a sinus condition I was experiencing. He is truly concerned for the patient's symptoms and conditions and I would highly recommend Dr Shternfeld.
Excellent experience. Office is easy to find, easy parking, large clean office and nice atmosphere. I had been sick for months with a chronic sinus infection. Finally got to Dr. Schternfeld and felt better in a week! I later had Balloon Sinuplasty in the office. The recovery time was 48 hours. The improvement has been life changing. Complete resolution of clogged sinuses, facial pain, eye pain and headache. I would not hesitate to send family & friends to this physician.
