Doctors who deny simple, reasonable requests and ignore patient charts deserve to have their licenses revoked

Horrible, horrible doctor and a horrible human being. Won't take no for an answer after being repeatedly asked to leave by a vulnerable patient. Should lose his job and his license.

Flagrant disregard for patients rights, DO NOT LET THIS DR STAY EMPLOYED.

The fact this man isn’t fired is alarming. If he cannot have empathy for patients specifically female patients he should not be in practice. He has been reported and investigated for breaking the law but is allowed to get away with it despite his arrogance and negligence. At this point the hospital he works at should be investigated as well for not taking action when numerous reports and complaints have been filed.

This man had to be escorted by security out of a patient's room when the patient had it stated clearly on her chart that she could not be treated by a male provider due to significant prior trauma. He refused to step out of the room or let her speak just to the female NP until he was escorted out. Based multiple older reviews that also speak to his arrogance and refusal to listen to patients, and considering the numerous statistics demonstrating worse outcomes for female patients treated by male physicians (particularly ones like this who refuse to take their patients' concerns and questions seriously), it's a wonder to me that any clinic or hospital would hire this man. I sincerely hope he loses his license.

He makes fun of SA survivor and does not respect his patients

The video of what he did to his patient was shocking. I suggest anyone considering having him as their physician watch that video first. Camera doesn’t lie.

Dr. Santiago is caring, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. He takes time to explain care to his patients and he has great bed side manner.

Laughs at victims of SA and refuses to let the patient feel comfortable. You are a disgrace to the medical profession. Check out the video on tiktok to see how cold hearted thisan really is.

Very condescending and rude. Only saw him because I had to while at the hospital. So far below Mayo’s standard. Asked to not see him again.

Absolutely the worst Doctor I have ever encountered. I am shocked that a top hospital such as Mayo Clinic continues to allow this doctor to practice medicine. Rude, arrogant, condescending and disrespectful are just a few words to describe Dr Santiago. My entire family was outraged at the care this doctor provided. He left me with severe ptsd and not wanting to continue to treat my chronic illness any further. If it weren’t for the other 99% of amazing doctors and staff at Mayo Hospital and their assurance he will never step foot in my hospital room again, I would have given up after my encounter with this doctor. He was only my hospitalist for one hospital stay and not one of my Incredible specialists. I hope that anyone who see’s this review understands just how horrible of a man Dr Santiago is. Absolutely the rudest, uncaring, incompetent jerk of a doctor I have ever encountered. Having a chronic illness, being in the hospital is a regular event. Mayo Hospital has always been incredible. Then I encountered this Hospitalist. I left the hospital with severe ptsd from this doctor. My entire family was outraged by the demeanor and pure arrogance of Dr Santiago. Each time I have to go into Mayo to stay I have a panic attack and specifically request that Dr Santiago not be allowed near me. How he is practicing at Mayo Hospital, one of the best facilities in the nation, is incomprehensible. Dr Santiago should not be practicing medicine.

He was was awful. Hospitalized and he was the hospitality. He did not allow the testing I needed and discharged me had to be rehospitalized. Very rude condescending and not helpful. His way or the highway.

He does not deign to lower himself to speak with female patients. Seems to have a real hatred for women. He trounced in to the hospital room and accused me of taking an illicit drug after I was admitted to the ER because my liver blood work went up and my liver had markers of being compromised. He blew off key tangible facts that were in my chart and dismissed the role any of my other physical health related diagnoses would have on my current symptoms. He showed no care or concern for my well being was totally uncompassionate and when my cardiologist and infectious disease specialist expressed concerns about certain tests that would be relevant to my other medical conditions he made a rude comment saying if they are so worried they can run the test themselves. I was admitted into Mayo Clinic so they are unable to run those key tests now when the information would be relevant. This guy is a my way or the highway guy. It is concerning that someone who doesn’t want to listen to the patient state symptoms and doesn’t read the patient’s chart is able to make swift sweeping judgments about health. The other staff and doctors at Mayo have been absolutely caring and wonderful but this one is awful. I hope someone takes notice that with his horrendous bedside manner towards what seems to be female patients he is not in keeping with his Hippocratic Oath

Arrogant. My way or the highway. Does not care to lower himself to listen to his patients. He knows it all even though he missed multiple tangible recorded symptoms needing medical attention in my chart. Avoid him unless you just want to trust that someone who is very inclined to dismiss any information provided by the patient and doesn’t read their chart is ok to make health decisions for you. I would ask for a new option who actually cares for the patient.Terrible bedside manner. His colleagues are 100 times nicer because they actually care for their patients.

Absolutely horrible bedside manner. Plain mean and degrading when he speaks to his patients. This doctor actually gave me ptsd when it came to treating my disease. He made me feel so horrible about myself. However Mayo Clinic and every other doctor and nurse there is absolutely amazing!! Dr. Santiago is a hospitalist. Once he is assigned to you, you can not get rid of him. It’s a policy at Mayo. Beware when being admitted into Mayo, you may very well have him as your doctor.

Not a good doctor, IMHO

I have been in the hospital quiet a lot. And I alwasy chringe when doctors do rounds because the majority of doctors do not have good bedside manner. But when this docotr would come in her would put me at easy and would always be thinking of ways to make me comfortable. He would talk about basketball with me and really listened to everything I had to say. I would like him everytime when I am in the hospital!

Very unprofessional and argumentative with my husband. Stated he had cardiomiopathy which multiple cardiologists do not agree with since no tests has shown that to date. We requested a Neurolgy, Endocrine and Nephrology consult which he did not arrange.

VERY WARM AND CARING MANNER. TAKES TIME TO LISTEN. NOT BAD TO LOOK AT, EITHER ;-)
