I am 83 years old and have had many colonoscopies in my lifetime. This was the easiest that I have ever had. Dr. Rensch and his staff at the Hill Country Digestive Center were excellent! The peptic stricture also has helped me swallow. Thank you

My husband and I both see Dr. Rensch. He and his nursing staff are compassionate and attentive. We highly recommend his office!

I am extremely pleased with the care I've received from Dr. Rensch. His knowledge and experience is extensive, he listens to the concerns of the patient and took time and care in answering all my questions. I felt very confident through each procedure that I was getting the best of care.

Not good

I never write reviews but my experience here is something to talk about. Just awful people and an awful experience the second I set foot through the door. The place smells like death because that’s exactly what they try and accomplish. They have 3 stars for a reason. Anybody who desires to come to this location I say BEWARE!! They will instantly talk bad about you. They judge you on what you wear and what you pull up in. Even though the workers themselves look very bummy. They don’t take pride in what they do. I had an appointment at Dr. Renschs office at 3:30. He didn’t get there until 5. I felt bad for his staff cause I assume this is a daily thing. His wife is a manager or something there and even she doesn’t know his whereabouts. Talk about a solid marriage. Anyway I’m getting off topic. I proceeded to wait and wait what seemed to be an eternity. This so called gentleman walks into the building no mask to be located anywhere on his person and greets me with a handshake like he hasn’t been keeping me waiting for hours. So as you can tell at this point I’m already upset. I get to the back room and he proceeds to ask me questions about myself. But before I could answer anything I asked him POLITELY if he could put a mask on because I take covid seriously unlike some people. He nodded his head and proceeded to ask me more questions. I raised my voice a bit and demanded this time he put a mask on. He looked at me like I was in the wrong. As you can guess this is the last time and only time I will visit this place. Had to leave one start or review wouldn’t save but was going to leave no stars as Dr Rensch is no good. He has no idea what he is doing. Had to seek second opinion and all I had was gas. How sad he had no clue and he is suppose to be a specialist All he wanted was money. Should have known he was no good as they have a very high turnover of staff in this office.

Had my rear plumbing checked and got to say that in spite of many scary stories AND some good ones this was actually a fascinating experience without sedation. Learned about my insides at the cost of a little discomfort. Dr. Rensch is awesome, gentle and surely knows his trade so does his the staff. He explained every bit, no unanswered questions. So the review of this jenelle chick below does absolutely make no sense to me! If I had to do the procedure again tomorrow, I would without any hesitation have Dr. Rensch do it again. Most rude, judgemental doctor i have ever come across. No bedside manner whatsoever. Change professions dude this one isn't for you. 0 stars.

my first time getting borescoped ... the doc and his support staff were great ... special shout out to the many nurses who were all very attentive and pleasant

My appointment was a meet and greet to see if we were a good fit. My goal was to find a doctor that knew more about Celiac Disease than I. Even though I was the last patient of the day, my appointment was not rushed. And yes, we were a great fit!!

I was especially pleased that your office worked me into the schedule since Methodist hospital did not follow through with the scheduling as indicated on my paperwork. Dr Rensch took 5 minutes to Dx a problem that had stymied other doctors for 15 years He picked up on abdominal masses that were ignored by the hospital and my surgeon. Beyond those, he’s taken excellent care of my complex gastric problems. I call him my savior.

I’ll give doctor 5 stars for excellent Care and yes I have referred others to him.

Although Dr. Rensch himself is a decent doctor with a good personality and does a good job I can't say the same about some of his staff. I was getting treatment for a particular chronic illness and needed bloodwork done to see where I was at regarding my viral load as I was taking medication to cure my illness. At the end of treatment I picked up the bloodwork order from his office to see if I was cured, but due to my own extensive research I could see that whichever nurse had written the order had circled the wrong test. So I had to go back in and point out the mistake. I left with the corrected mistake but not before recieving an apology free attitude from the staff. When I went back 3 months later for the follow-up bloodwork test (same test as before), I left the office and as I got to my car I saw they had ordered me a pregnancy test this time (I am a male!). Once again I walked back in, pointed out that they had in fact whited-out the correct order and written me the wrong thing AGAIN! Had I not checked both times I would have paid for the wrong bloodwork, and some of these blood tests are expensive (especially when you don't have insurance). I wonder who would have had to reimburse me, most likely it would have been a big hassle. So if you like this doctor beware of his staff who make serious mistakes. Make sure you're leaving his office with the correct paperwork and learn as much as you can about whatever ails you before you walk through that door. He did a procedure on me and was very kind and gentle in his explanation of everything. He took his time to make sure I understood and was very patient and a good communicator.

Dr Rensch is very patient and kind. He took the time to explain things to me. He even gives his cell number to patients so that he can be accessible. He also offers same day appts for urgent issues.

Dr. Rensch is a fine man, but the only time I saw him was just before and after my procedure. All other visits were conducted by a nurse practitioner. The office staff is terrible! They encourage you to use the Patient Portal, but then they don't monitor it. My medical records were incorrect, and have not been corrected after several months. I was overcharged for my co-pay (which had to be made in advance), and have ignored my requests for a refund of what I overpaid.

I visited this office several times and each time I was scheduled with a lady. She was very knowledgeable & friendly, however I felt pressured to have another colonoscopy because my last one, even though only 2 years old, was done by another dr. When I finally agreed, I was told by the front desk I had to pay nearly $300 to his office before they could do it, plus other fees to hospital and anesthesiologist. I went to another GI Dr. and only had to pay $40 for colonoscopy using same insurance.

Called to schedule a colonoscopy but got the office voice mail recording. Left a message on a Wednesday morning but they did not return my call until late on Friday afternoon. By that time I had already scheduled with another doctor. Poor business practice to not return calls in a timely manner.

Dr Rensch -and his staff- are the best in what you want of a doctor (ANY kind of doctor). I would also give some bonus points for the smiles and excellent sense of humor.

What can be a trying ordeal for anyone....that was NOT the case. Dr. Rensch is easy to talk to and his staff is excellent. by the way, my husband has been going for years. He is of the same opinion as I am. Dr. Rensch is very personable and extremely knowledgeable.

Staff was nice but never got a return phone call when one was needed. My son had continuous abdominal pain after what we thought was the issue for the pains subsided,they ordered ct scans,upper endoscopy,nothing found and was told there were no more testing that could be done,and was just given a couple of diff prescriptions to TRY, we found a new Dr. That was able to help him. Granted we never actually saw the Dr. but was just a waste of time and my son's health suffered in the mean time.

I truly believe he is the best doctor I've seen in the past 20 years. He is always accessible, smart, to the point and very professional. Within three or four weeks, he and I solved a colitis issue that had me down almost 25 pounds over the past 5 years. I was very sick, frustrated and afraid. I trust him.

Excellent care and tender bedside manner. Takes his time to teach and provide patient education. Always demonstrates a pleasant affect and eases my fears. I would recommend Dr Rensch with confidence and enthusiasm.

If you want a Doc that brags on his credentials, how great he is and comes fully self absorbed with the biggest god complex even seen and heard... he's your man. Need for immediate care and decision making is non existent. Go to any other Doc than this guy!

Two of my family members have seen Dr. Rensch and I plan to also as well. He is interested in his patients (not just procedures) and has an excellent depth of knowledge, excellent in the procedures he does, and being a physician that refers to him, I have not seen any complications in my patients who have gone to him for procedures. The patients voice that he does a very good job communicating to them about their problem and explains things well including a follow up letter to them.

There's no question that Doctor Rensch knows exactly what's going on with you as a patient. He's been doing this for 20 years. He's trustworthy and highly recommended more than even this site can reflect. In reality being in the business as long as he has it's great that he still cares and that is genuine. His staff was caring and very helpful and the scheduling was also helpful to me they were able to get me in as soon as possible. I'm not sure you could ask for more.

Unprofessional and unintelligent

He seemed very knowledgeable, and I trust he knew what he was talking about but he is a personal space invader. He got right in my face when explaining my diagnosis and it made me very uncomfortable. His office staff wasn't overly friendly and unable to reach his billing office, always goes to voicemail, and I've left a few messages. I also had to wait over an hour to see him, but to his credit he was working me in with his current appointments due to my circumstances.

I would recommend him highly.
